Festivals (or other associated events like the Capital balls) really aren't the places for new music to flourish on the whole. A handful of new songs isn't so bad but statements like Becky's come across as quite arrogant to me - secret set or not, it's bold to assume a big crowd of people who didn't pay to see you would be interested in hearing only new music. I've never been to an actual festival but I have been to many of Capital's events and new music can often be a mood killer, even from very popular artists. Even if it's a song I'm personally obsessed with!

This literally isn't relevant, let it go. Also since when has the chart been a ranking of the biggest names in music? Being #1 doesn't mean you're bigger than Taylor Swift as an artist, it just means your song is popular.

We discuss this all the time but saying ACR isn't working at all isn't true - the charts would be even slower. It's not perfect and sure, some songs are making a mockery of it, but if you want faster charts, removing ACR is the last thing you'd want to do.

This is normal - shipped ahead of the stated release date so they arrive on time. The issue here is that the song's already available and therefore the sales counted immediately. It's happened before, one example that comes to mind is Dove Cameron's Boyfriend, which claimed its top 10 peak from a last minute physical dump thanks to shipments just before the planned release of the CD.

It did after the video release, starred out last week with Aperture's reset. Post-album singles are notably more difficult for every artist though, it's why many artists choose to avoid them nowadays. He mastered it with the Fine Line era, with Falling, Watermelon Sugar and Golden all being hits (while Treat People With Kindness was starred out on at least 2 occasions - album release week and video week - so never actually charted). Harry's House produced top 20 hit Satellite, largely fuelled by his tour at the same time, but Music for a Sushi Restaurant didn't re-enter the top 40 when it had a singles push even with the release of physicals.

Fair to say this era hasn't been Harry's House levels of huge, and the singles haven't been As It Was or Watermelon Sugar massive, but most artists would still kill for an era like this...!
