Well aware of that and I don't even disagree on the whole, videos are less impactful than they used to be sadly, but I think Opalite was a bad example when it did have a big boost from the video, which is the whole point I was making.

The week Opalite's video came out: 23-11 Audio Streaming xx-3 Video Streaming 23-7 Combined Audio + Video Streaming Can't say the video streaming had no impact at all (and it clearly translated into an audio streaming boost too). Overall a pretty substantial boost from the music video there. (and obviously CoComelon doesn't have the sales + audio streams to help it chart either)

Which is still a boost fuelled by the music video! The numbers speak for themselves (and it was #3 on video streaming that week too).

It only sold 1,064 downloads and would still have been #5 that week on its streaming tally alone, which was very much fuelled by the music video release...

I know it clinched the #1 on physicals in the end but the Opalite video still provided a big boost - it would've been #5 that week without physicals, up from #15 the week before!

I understand Hadji's point with regards to Ordinary being "new" when it hit the spot. He quite obviously didn't mean brand spanking new, only just released, but it was quite a fresh song at that point. Rein Me In took significantly longer and had already had an extended run in the chart - which is not a criticism from me, it's just a different kettle of fish, its climb to #1 was notable for a reason!
