I finally got around to listening to this the entire way through, and I must say... Incredible. Why this is her worst performing era singles-wise is BEYOND me. Although actually, maybe not. This is a purely cohesive album. It reminds me of Kanye's MBDTF in that way, because while single tracks are great, they really make much sense in the context of each other. I may be rambling, but I'm just in shock at how good this album is. Even Run the World sounds great with the rest, and I DESPISED that song when it came out. On initial listen, I'd have to rate: 1. 1+1 2. Love On Top 3. Party 4. Countdown 5. I Care/End of Time
  2. Well that was disappointing...
  3. TYLER THE CREATOR WINS BEST NEW ARTIST! :yahoo:
  4. Performance of the night went to Chris Brown, IMO, but that's probably because I've already seen the BRITS performance of SLY, so it wasn't new.
  5. PLEASE. PLEEEEEEEEEASE. :yahoo:
  6. It is a bit surprising to me honestly, especially with videos like Man Down and Rude Boy. Like Blob said, though, I don't really care too much.
  7. So it took a good couple months, but one drunken night later, Government Hooker has finally clicked with me.
  8. Two years straight?? :o I never knew! Poor Rihanna...
  9. Side note - Feels or Feel? I'm seeing both.

I'm not sure if it'll do a million first week, but the sales will be pretty high. It might just be the most anticipated hip hop album of the year.
  11. This is my favorite top 10 in a long time! If Lighters ends up being replaced by Someone Like You, it'll be most likely the best top 10 of the year. Can't wait for the VMAs!

Cremey - love the sig! OT, Blunt Blowin, Nightmares of the Bottom, How to Hate, Mirrors, Abortion, and So Special are the standouts so far. Honestly a little disappointed with tracks like Megaman and President Carter, but it's still a great CD. Mr. Carter's home!
  13. You seem to forget about a little song by the name of Big Fat Bass. Also, just noticed your sig - LOVE that song!
  14. Fair enough. Still wish Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart was more played over here... Really? Make Her Say was all but a flop here. I wasn't aware Day N Nite got big over there either, was it the Crookers mix? I'd think that'd be more suited to the popular music of the time. Memories was a hit pretty much everywhere.
  15. "My cool MINNESOTA guyyyy."
  16. K90YfvSnAQg Represent.
  17. This completely, adding in I Can Only Imagine.
  18. I remember exactly when that was. Honestly, that summer was MUCH better in terms of hit music. I still love every single one of those, even Somebody to Love in a weird, guilty pleasure kind of way. Near the end of summer they even played Cudi for a bit with Erase Me. Honestly, though, I wouldn't mind a bit more Alicia on our radio.

^ LOL at my previous post. Album leaked, PM me for a link. It's pretty good on first listen.
  20. at the lowest for Super Bass being 9. (deservedly so) Thanks Jáhq!
  21.
  22. It doesn't seem to have been. I meant as a single anyway, radio would LOVE this over here.
  23. Yeah, I'm over in the US. The thing is, radio LOVES upbeat songs here. For example, this summer has had Party Rock Anthem, Rolling in the Deep, Last Friday Night, Give Me Everything, Good Life, Super Bass, I Wanna Go, and Lighters on repeat for MONTHS. Literally months. Other songs get decent play, but those have had the life hammered out of them. By the time summer is over, you CANNOT stand hearing them. They absolutely love anything moderately rhythmic, but you'll hear something like Jar of Hearts or Pumped Up Kicks once a week max. I still love all of those songs, but I can't listen to them until at least fall - except Super Bass, LOVE that song. Rap songs get the most overplayed. Rap is kind of like America's dance music in terms of overplayedness.
  24. Love the video, really gone off on the song though. Radio has hammered it out over here, it's unlistenable for now at least.
