Or the follow up to Body Honestly the Bruno song is pretty infectious - found myself singing it in the shower this morning
  5. The first election was relatively close. He should have gone after losing it though. Corbyn wasn't perfect but after 5 years it's fairly obvious he'd have been better than the alternatives.

Bruno looking quite likely for #1 then but could be close. Rather hilarious. Well everyone wanted variety in the charts so you asked for this!!
  7. As always a big thanks to those who joined this afternoon. Pat yourselves on the backs, the reward for sitting through the first 6 hours and 138 songs so far is that we've pretty much finished the pre-rock and roll era now, and the pop boom of the mid-late 60s mean there's a hell of a lot more timeless classics on next weeks list. There's also only 2 double A-Sides - which his helpful for me - I've added them to the - which can be found here for anyone who can't make next week or will miss part of it. Basically we moving on from most of your grandparents music to most of your parents music - I'm guessing  Again thanks to everyone who joined, and especially Danuary for providing the chart runs for the songs throughout. I actually really like Fingers Crossed - expected it to hang around a bit.
  9. Not a problem, be glad to have you around for some of it, you have just reminded me to put the playlist in the above post!! :P
  10. Join us at 4pm in this room for the second week of the No 1 listen through. As always is here for those who can't make the session. https://sync-tube.de/rooms/6tSL03wkE I'll be around from 3pm playing random current/old songs so feel free to join earlier if you just want to hang.
  11. Just listened to this and really enjoyed it.
  12. Hopefully they've done insane downloads  *straw clutching*
  13. I think the plan the government are trying to push them to is a subscription model. The question is how far they go with it. Remove the compulsory license fee but allow people to make a voluntary donation and keep the BBC roughly as is - Remove the compulsory license fee but make access to the BBC a condition of paying a subscription fee - essentially privatising it. Abolish the license fee, and fund the BBC directly from taxes to remove the pressure of individuals to pay the bill. The last one would actually deal with the concern Dorries is citing around pressure on individuals, so if she does anything else we know what we already know for sure - this is a political move.
  14. I've got a feeling this is going to be one of those that's alright to start with cos it's sounding different to a lot of other stuff around and is clearly displaying some talent, but if it sticks around in the charts for weeks on the end it's going to grate a lot. A bit like ArrDee and Oliver Twist. Liverpool have a history of getting behind locals, so no doubt even the 'washed olders' will be pinging a quid on it.
  15. It's hard to have a non politic discussion, when this is ultimately a political decision. Starve it to death - the ultimate Tory philosophy. Unfortunately it will actually work here unlike with the NHS
  16. Making River the Doctor would raise some pretty awkward rewatches
  17. Dorries going after the BBC accusing it of a left-wing bias and forcing it to find 2bn in savings. The BBC that's been a government mouthpiece for the past few years? Might explain the slightly less cloying BBC news pages in the past few weeks now they know being Boris's Broadcasters won't get them saved from the Dorries axe. Honestly this stinks of a government that knows it's on it's way out - the next real discussion won't be til 2025 - which means they likely chastise Labour who'll be in by then of 'not scrapping the licence fee, which we would have done' despite the fact they've had 14 years by that point to do it. How many more of these ridiculous smoke and mirrors tricks are we going to get?
  18. Don't think Won't Stand Down is making the top 40 - down to #137
  19. Due to all the football references obviously, not the scouse accent :P To be fair the lyrics are actually reasonable clever for this sort of music, once you've deciphered it. He's clearly talented.

I have to agree with this. Both on muse and explicit tracks. I think abcdefu might be an edge case these days though in that the only issue with it is the swearing rather than drugs, sexism, gang lyrics, oversexualised content and other stuff R1 won't want to condone even past 9pm. I swear they used to do this with the rock show when it was on at midnight years ago but I might be imagining that. (might still do I ain't listened in years)
  21. He's asking for the right to.pay for it himself though. Whilst this is clearly a consequence of his own making, it seems a bit daft he can't pay for police protection - given he's still a royal family member it's going to be tough for him to.privately mount a operation capbale of protecting him https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60012238

So what we all thinking on this one? Likely to be a dominant story until he dies in and out. Been given a pig heart transplant (world first) but it turns out he best a man and left him paralysed in 1988 for which he was sentenced to ten years. The man he attacked died at the age of 40. The pig heart thing was a bit sick in the stomach feeling for me and just feels wrong, the fact he also turns out to have such a rotten past seems to make it even more wrong, although I'm not sure it would be ethical to stop people having transplants just because they've done bad things.

Animations cancelled. Well that's put me in a bit of a downer mood. Was hoping more would have been finished by the time I got round to them. https://winteriscoming.net/2022/01/14/bbc-r...tm_medium=email
  24. Thanks popchartfreak. Another great read
  25. As awesome as these polls are to look let's be honest as soon as Boris is replaced they'll be the other way round again
