It's not an incorrect statistic, it's an eighth week on the chart as it dropped out the Top 40 for a few weeks 9 weeks ago. They could phrase things better, but you can see what they mean...

This guy was always pretty likely to die in prison, but good to know he managed four years. Your Grown Ups is a really bad term, too informal and almost belittling of the parents. However mum and dad/grandparent is a bad term. A couple of incidents in my childhood have always made me confirm if someones family are alive before referring to them in specificity. My sister was once sent a piece of homework asking her to speak to her grandparents about the war, this caused a few issues as all of our grandparents were deceased!! Another one was an incident where I made a typically benign 'your mum' joke to a classmate in secondary school after momentarily forgetting this classmate's mum had recently committed suicide and had just come back from time off due to mental health issues relating to the bereavement. Never have I wanted the ground to swallow me up so much in my life as the rest of that day. A genuine mistake, and the classmate was rightly furiously angry but eventually saw the funny side of it, eventually he'd joke about it himself, but that was certainly not the time and place to make that sort of joke. Poor f***er was told a few years later by a supply teacher he'd be ringing his mum!! 'Good luck with that' was essentially the response, made it slightly politer for BJ company. I think the best term is something ambiguous but formal like 'Your parental guardian' or To the Guardian/Carer of [Child]'. Anyone can be one of those, formally or informally so I can't see the need to go any further.

The track plays to it's base a lot, aging rock fans who hang on to bands like Scorpion from their youth and just want a good concert to go to from them these days, but the vocals and music all sound as good as ever - which is remarkable for a band in there 60s and 70s - the lyrics perhaps the weakest section of the song, but easily beltable, it earns it's place atop this weeks chart purely for being such a good sing a long, fun and great song from an awesome band. The song captures the essence of allowing the world to move on from a cultural moment, but still holding it in your hearts - a sentiment held dear by many rock and roll fans, with great nods to the band about the service they've provided to fans over all the years. I'll be honest, it might not be dislodged for a little while. It's head and shoulders above anything else on this chart. The rock theme continues amongst most of the top five, with Liam Gallagher's latest song earning a top 3, despite lyrics so bad it feels unjust to question Scorpions attempt after putting this in the top 10, but again it's a fun enough listen and better than anything below it. RHCP Black Summer and BMTH's collaboration with Sheeran make it into Top 5, Jax Jones round off the top end. It so close to be an absolute bop, but it's as you allude too it's about a minute too short and her voice still doesn't quite carry it well enough for me. Anyway, finished watching it. Dave is getting into a bit of a habit of steeling the show isn't he? An absolute stand out performance (and he's not really my type of music tbh) on a night where many artists seemed to be phoning it in/going through the motions.

I thought the awards were fan voted this year anyway? Regardless just watching it now and it honestly seems like it might be time to bin off the Brit awards and replace it with something new. Abominable ratings, a relatively boring show, too much faffing, bloated length, all making it less exciting by the new year. If they're telling artists they've won awards in advance anyway why not have a British showcase where the winners perform - it would be done under 90 minutes. Bin off the comedy rubbish, get a straight-presenter (Scott Mills or a aging pop/rock star who can treat it with reverence), move it to a weekend. I'm not against the gender neutral awards, but the 8-10 nominations for half the awards are far too many.
