Do you think they'll bounce back from the fact that if NO Doesn't end up doing better their two non collabs since Jesy left would be huge flops. Added on to the drama around her release and the illusion of unity they've portrayed for a decade being absolutely shatter...I think people have just had their fill. They're doing zero damage control and zero to keep public interest. If they wanted a break that bad they should have just done it and not bothered. It's very Sugababes.

Jesy ultimately broke her contract by leaving (notice whenever someone leaves bands like this they're usually off work sick for a bit) which is when papers are being drawn to have someone officially leave. Otherwise ir would be too easy for someone to be having a bad day, day they quit and rhen come back once they've had a couple of days off. In buying Jesy out it means that she no longer gets to profit from the band which is a smart move on behalf of thr girls if they are planning on releasing more albums. And also a smart move ahead of releasing a GH album for which she appears on 75% of the tracks. It was probably the quickest and easiest way for everyone to completely cut ties and I expect there is some stipulations in there too regarding how much footage of her can be used etc

It will land top 5. I am more interested in its longevity. Confetti sales were so front loaded that I don't think it's ever reaching platinum (given that it's at 220k now after a year and you only need to sell about 8-12k to hit the top 5 these days) I would be happy with a lower entry and longer stay in the top 10. It's so easy to promote a greatest hits and jts just not happening yet.

Entirely accurate. I don't know what her team are doing hiding her from the comments. I understand being protective due to her past but there is a difference between trolling someone about their looks and calling them out for things they do. It leaves her vulnerable in interviews if she's left in the dark so much. I think Jesy is a decent person but as with many people, trauma can really impact your development and you're very exposed when you don't have your band mates to help. The same thing happened with Geri to a far worse degree. But ita very early days. She has the talent and the fan base to make it work. Hopefully for her that song that clicks with people comes early.

A ballad would be good coming up to Christmas plus SLS is the only true one we have had from them and that was huge.

I would like her to do well. I would also like her to get a better PR team and be a bit more savvy. All her interviews are like reading from a script. She may get a few hits but she has no chance of a big album. Album sales are just not there unless you're a mega star. Harry has been in the top 40 for 2 years and is only JUST coming up for 2 x platinum. Jesy is, however, hilarious and has such a good energy sometimes that I think she would do great in TV.

It will debut well enough due to pre orders from the insane volume of formats. I think it will hang around. Boosted by a January single and again by the tour. Probably fair better than Confetti and likely will reappear every now and then.

I don't think they'll even do an announcement. They will just do their own thing until they do the band again. Releasing LM7 in q4 2023 is fine. Plenty of artists leave 3 years between studio albums. Announcing a hiatus is just dramatic. 1D, 5H, Spice Girls...it's not a break when the break is longer than when you were together.

Similarly to blackmagic the song just sounds (and the video is) quite juvenile. It may have done well (the only reason BM stays in the set) but it's not very "them"

^ exactly. Positions mean very little these days. It is all about longevity. Better to have a top 20 that stays around and goes gold than to have something like Bounce Back that hits the top 10 and has barely scraped silver 2 years later.
