Thought I'd start a new thread. If this article is correct this must be coming very soon. Will Young will be releasing some new music before he heads out on the road this summer. The singer-songwriter revealed on ITV's Lorraine that he will be putting out a covers collection of his favourite songs later this year. "It's an EP, so it's five or six tracks," he said. I've done covers for years and I've always wanted to do it. I went in with my band and we recorded it all live - it's all in one take. I'm really pleased with it. It's coming out soon. Revealing he'd recorded "50 or 60 songs" for it, he explained: "Whittling it down [was hard]. I turned it around to my managers and their years of experience. The release follows last summer's 85% Proof album, which debuted at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart and includes the singles Love Revolution and Joy. That’s pretty much all there is to know about ‘Forever’ by new electronic pop act 101, on the surface at least. We know your game, 101. We know it all too well. It’s an evergreen pop trick: launch something new under the veil of A Mysterious Project, allow suspicious minds to concoct elaborate theories about who’s behind the whole thing, then do a big reveal. Obviously this type of project tends to appear and disappear without so much as a by-your-leave; right now the best bet is just to enjoy the tune itself and not concern yourself too much about who’s behind the whole thing. So Will has recorded an ep of 5 covers with the band which will be put out soon. Wonder how this ties in with the surprise new track. I'm all for a covers ep as an extra as long as we don't have too long a wait for new music. It will be interesting to see what has made the cut, from the many songs Will gave his management to choose from.
