Rhydian - Waves
I think he was 'declared' as the most popular at Gay Radio because the most twitter and e-mails messages and requests have come in for his interview. :D ;) http://cdn.content.sweetim.com/sim/cpie/emoticons/000203FC.gif

Rhydian - Waves
Another review today! From OK Magazine! :cheer: Review: Rhydian, Waves 3/5 Tuesday 2 Aug 2011 Above: Review: Rhydian, Waves What you need to know… The former X Factor fella undergoes a change of direction! First impressions… What’s this? Platinum-haired X Factor star Rhydian Roberts tackling ten little-known New Wave and 80s tracks? Yes, that’s exactly what it is. And no, it’s not some kind of practical joke. But before you throw the magazine on the floor, stamp on it and then run off in terror, remember this important fact – when Rhydian was competing on The X Factor back in 2007, he wasn’t always performing classically-flavoured stuff. No, he had rockier moments, too. So these synth-drenched songs shouldn’t seem all that out of place, really. Especially as Rhydian’s booming baritone sits well on top of the grandiose and sometimes icy synth backing. Check out Parade, the epic and surprisingly lovely Hands To Heaven and Broken Land and you’ll see what we mean! OK, some of it’s a bit naff but the good outweighs the bad! Our favourite track… Broken Land. You’ll like this if you like… Take That’s Progress album. Did you know? Multi-talented Rhydian will soon be appearing in a touring production of Grease, playing the part of Teen Angel. Book your tickets now, ladies! OK! verdict… A surprise success from Rhydian! http://cdn.content.sweetim.com/sim/cpie/emoticons/000202B2.gif

Rhydian - Waves
One of the reviews for the Waves! This is from the Virgin Music! The X Factor's popera star tackles the alternative 80s. Rhydian Roberts is one of The X Factor's more successful – and certainly more interesting – nearly men. His first two albums shifted impressive units, and now the platinum-ginger bombshell has taken an intriguing turn with this covers set. Apparently inspired by finding an old compilation tape his brother had made, and not recording over it with vocal exercises for once, Roberts decided to make an album of songs just beyond the 80s nostalgia net. So, among others, he launches into The Icicle Works' Love Is A Wonderful Colour, The Mission's Tower Of Strength, The Lover Speaks' No More 'I Love You's (taken stratospheric in the 90s by Annie Lennox) and an affecting version of Breathe's 1988 top five hit Hands To Heaven. These are big, showy, emotional numbers, perfect for Roberts' baritone. He can lend grandeur to already pretty majestic songs. It's a curio more than a tour de force – there's a touch of the ham about the man and some of the arrangements veer towards the tinny when they really needed to go big and bold. Nonetheless, this is a fun and canny change of direction. Album Review by Matthew Hortonhttp://cdn.content.sweetim.com/sim/cpie/emoticons/00020263.gif

Rhydian - Waves
First review of the album! <3 http://www.star-magazine.co.uk/music/view/.../Rhydian-Waves/ http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/7343/photoshoot6dc1c63.jpg Who? He’s back! How’s it sound? Before the lunacy of Jedward and the horror of Wagner, another singer in search of a surname created huge public debate for his ludicrously camp performances on the X Factor. Although he lost in the 2007 final to Leon Jackson (who?), Rhydian set the trend for runners-up often doing better than the winner. But, despite (or possibly because of) two popera albums, we were all quite happy to pigeon-hole him as a talented, but faintly silly cartoon character. Well, the blinding hair remains, but the crazy costumes and cheesy cabaret repertoire have been ditched for a rather shockingly committed and credible stab at the pop mainstream. Channelling his love for 80s New Wave, an era famous for the bombastic pomp of acts like Tears For Fears and Ultravox, the Rhydster has put his booming vocals to great use without sliding back into his Cornetto warbling of before. Tackling a selection of lesser known gems from the period over a steely soundscape of sleek synths, his supple voice soars over the melodrama of Parade, Tower Of Strength and the surging Waves. But there is also a surprising tenderness on The Promise You Made and Hands To Heaven. Tackling Annie Lennox’s No More I Love You’s was probably a bit unwise, but his innately theatrical delivery happily suits OTT belters like Love Is A Wonderful Colour and The Promise. Verdict: The boyo done good. Skip To: Waves. ★★★★ Love the pic  and the review! http://cdn.content.sweetim.com/sim/cpie/emoticons/0002043F.gif
