30 out of the top 50 songs on the Spotify UK chart came out before 2026

I think (well more like hope and pray) that more chart companies will follow Australia's footsteps and ban it completely.

It is very funny (and kinda worrying) how similar these numbers are to the numbers of the current top 10 – obviously, the chart cutoff has completely skyrocketed since then; back in 2015, it only took 20k to enter the top 200 😂

Does anyone know which artists had the longest streaks in the top 40? An extended period during which they always had at least one song in the top 40? Rihanna must have one of the longer ones because from January 2010 (Rude Boy) up until August 2011 (California King Bed) she always had at least one song there, but what about others?

It's only happened once in chart history – Love The Way You Lie in 2010. But in the streaming era, where songs are staying around longer and longer, is it possible for a song to, one year, have sales so consistently stable and strong that it eventually outdoes songs that blocked it?

The reason why the charts are stagnant is that the general public has become more and more addicted to nostalgia in the last two years and it's suffocating. But also, we're on Year 2 in a row of mainstream releases being underwhelming.

However the week on week drops are completely different, HTIMYLM only fell 27k compared to last Monday, yes,and? on the other hand, was falling 70K+ week on week,, so its looking much more stable
