Japanese album releases
The main reason I love buying Japanese releases: http://www.feederanorak.co.uk/Assets/Images/PTS_Jap_CD_Album_Whole_Package.jpg http://www.feederanorak.co.uk/Assets/Images/Thumbnails/PTS_CD_AND_DVD_Japan_Thumbnail.jpg Not long after the album made #2 in the UK this version made a respectable #59 in Japan :). The Obi-Strips are well really ace and unique looking :D, "Obi" is the Japanese word for "Sash" :) .

Japanese album releases
I'm an avid collector of Japanese albums, have virutally every Japanese album Feeder have released!!. I also have the UK versions, and then buy the imports!. Grant and Mark from Feeder were rather amazed and baffled I bought the Japanese import of "The Singles", when I gave got them to sign it after the Amsterdam gig last year!. It was the first one Grant ever signed!. As for Japanese albums, they're cheaper than UK ones alone, but shipping charges add onto it, but they well worth buying for extra tracks if you don't buy singles as the extra tracks are usally tracks that are B-sides on the albums singles. Like Feeder have done with their label Pony Canyon, "Polythene" though has no bonuses, and the album wasn't re-issued like in the UK. Instead the extra tracks on that re-issue appeared on the exclusive EP's you can buy over there, in which I have all of them!! D. http://www.hmv.co.jp/ is a great site, and there's an Oasis boxset exclusive to the country!!!.

2001 Records Of The Year
Meck recently did a remix of "Buck Rogers", and it totally ruins the original. Still, it was flattering to see someone with a #1 hit be inspired by a Feeder song.

2001 Records Of The Year
#1- 20 points, then one point less descending downwards with the #20 with just 1. 1) Feeder "Buck Rogers" ("I think we're gonna make it"?!, guys you HAVE made it thanks to this single, it also captured the imaginations of those who followed the UK rock scene, and hopefully still do! :cheer:) 2) Ash "Burn Baby Burn" 3) U2 "Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of" 4) Dandy Wahols- "Bohemian Like You" 5) Crazy Town "Butterfly" 6) Texas "Inner Smile" (Feeder outsold them the week "Buck Rogers" made #5, a band who at the time sold about 60,000 UK albums, beating a band with over 2 million tells an awful lot :cheer: ) 7) Gorillaz "Clint Eastwood" (someone I knew at the time thought it was Clint Eastwood singing a song called "Gorillaz" ) 8) Travis "Sing" (Who could forget the classic TOTP moment this song produced?) 9) Train "Drops Of Jupiter" (First heard this on TOTP's late night showing after a lonely night out, and it cheered me right up) 10) Stereophonics "Have A Nice Day" 11) Strokes "Last Nite" 12) Wheatus "Teenage Dirtbag" (kept of the top spot by that nasty Atomic Kitten song, but still gets played on music TV when the AK song hardly does) 13) Outkast "Ms Jackson" 14) Sophie Ellis-Bextor "Take Me Home" 15) Afroman Because "I Got High" 16) Kylie Minogue "Can’t Get You Out Of My Head" 17) Toploader- Dancing In The Moonlight 18) Linkin' Park "In The End" 19) Alien Ant Farm "Smooth Criminal" 20) Dido "Here With Me" Out of all these, I only like 18 of them, the bottom two are the best two from the lot I don't like. However, what a year 2001 was, I'll never ever forget it. Going to my first concert, and the band in question finally making their deserved breakthrough (that's Feeder!), and ever since then got bitten by the gig going bug!. It was at the Met Uni in Leeds on the 5th of April, and that week Feeder had "Seven Days In The Sun" out as a single!. BTW, how was this top 50 list compiled?, is it based on most radio/airplay/all-time list apperances ever since release or general popularity? :) .

The UK Charts have hit rock bottom...
The new rules have inspired me to start up a band, and get a single in the charts! :D. So of course the new rules are good!!!, as things are looking after last weeks chart, it looks like we won't have to worry about near to a year old watered down songs overstaying their welcome and becoming a thorn in peoples balls after all! :D :D :D.

Albums You're Looking Forward To This Year?
Definetly FEEDER!!! . The album is being worked on, and the band will be in the studio this year to record it, and hopefully we'll see a new album in the summertime. I just love the way the band keep recording music they like, not giving a rats ar$e what the critics think. Feeder have their own original sound, unlike all the pathetic hype bands you get today, and you get sad lifeless critics slagging them off.

UK Top 100 Albums - Chart points system
how about a rundown that I can copy and paste and send to my mates please :), they'llbe chuffed about this! :D. Every time Feeder tour we all club together and see them on every date, Grant Nicholas dedicated "Feeling a Moment" to us at their last gig of the year after acknowledging our week long presence! :D.

UK Top 100 Albums - Chart points system
The best and most underrated live band in the UK, well done to em, they deserve every inch of sucsess in the world. This chart is more realistic, as as christmas time the sales figures are really large in December time and an album can still climb if it falls down the charts like a rock. U2:18 Singles only climbed above Feeder because of it's release date, Feeder was in May, but if Feeder released in December, they would have been top 20, like we see here :).

Choose your FAVE and WORST
Best:- 4 U2 - Window In The Skies (not their best song at all, but the best of the weeks new entries) Worse:- 49 Ordinary Boys - I Luv U (why the fuss over this!?, it's really boring and goes nowhere!!)

Is the #1 a Carl Douglas cover?

UK top 20 5 years ago
It's not so much the video, it's a great idea and was soon taken on by Jetplane Landing and the Yeah, Yeah, Yeah's (one of Grant Nicholas's fave bands), it's just that the fans singing is louder the vocals on the main track as it's on a low volume, and I'd rather hear Grant sing as he CAN sing!!.

Definely a deserved hit for Feeder , I remember buying the single really well. Woolies messed up with their stock and has less CD's behind the counter then on the shelf. So I bought them in Virgin near the end of the week, as I was working in a printers at the time. The song is definetly the best single of 2001, but has their worse video (not the worse of 2001, that goes to Hermes House Band). Feeder Fan Site said that a song of that calibre was screaming out for a high budget video, but got a video "made on the cheap", which was also decribed as "samey", but rightfully praised the band for wanting to involve their fans in a video . That was the year I first seen the guys play live, at Leeds Met on the 5th April. Sadly the only time I seen them with Jon Lee :(.

How do you get the YouTube videos to work so the interface can be seen in the post?. Just changed the Feeder video to a performance one, so you can see the band perform like with all the other videos here :).

Fave film quotes?
Mine so far has to be Stephen King's "IT" when Geogie gets killed by Pennywise, as well as a few from The Shining!. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZVq2Gm_Zjk The best part of the film "IT" with the most memorable dialouge! lol!. Georgie is playing with a paper boat covered in parafin paint so it's waterproof, he's like racing it in the rain and the water of the rain is running down the street and down drains, the boat soon ends up in a drain....... Georgie- "No please no!!" Georgie checks the drain to see where it went, and walks away, but Pennywise pops up from underneath the drain. Pennywise- "HELLO GEORGIE!....... arn't ya gonna say... hello!?" Georgie shakes his head Pennywise- "Aaaawwww!!!, com' on buckle!!, don't you want a balooonn!!?" Georgie- "I'm not supposed to take stuff from strangers!, my Dad said so" Pennywise- "That's very wise of your Dad Georgie!, VERY WISE INDEED!. I Georgie, am Pennywise the dancing clown!, and you! are Georgie!, so we know each other!, hey!?" Georgie- "I guess so, I better go" Pennywise- "GO!, not without this!?" Georgie- "MY BOAT!!!" Pennywise- "EXACTLY!, take it kiddo!!, you want it don't you!?, of course you do!.....there's cotton candy, rides and all sorts of suprises down here!, and baloons too!, all colours!" Georgie- "Do they float!?" Pennywise- "Oh yes, they flooaaattt!!!!, Georgie, they flloaattt!!"..... and when you're down here WITH ME!.... YOU'LL FLOAT TTTOOAAAHHH!!!" Pennywise than grabs Georgies hand as he reaches out for the paper boat Pennywise is holding only to drag Georgie by the arm with him screaming, and then what we see as the scene fades out to a funeral scene, is Georgie's arm being dragged inside Pennywise's mouth in which his teeth look like sharp pins. Later in the film we learn he pulled it off like the leg off from a fly.

My Chemical Romance - Welcome To The Black Parade
Good song, deadful video and shii*iiit recent album!!!. This song is the only decent one they'll ever make.
-
Who should have had a UK #1 single by now?
Feeder, Milburn, Embrace and other decent acts like them.
-
#1 singles
Razorlight and all these other talentless NME hypes (exc Arctic Monkeys) that only get there because the magazine told them to buy it, and also boy bands.
-
Airplay Chart
What chart was the former then? :).

Razorlight - America
Just might get that Tim Buckley Greatest Hits!! :D. and in the Tim Buckley video in this thread, there seems to be a car in the background, JUST LIKE in "America"'s video!!!. They seem to have stolen a bit from both versions of the song. This Mortal Coil was a brilliant 4AD project, each track featured a different vocalist from a 4AD signed artist, like in this example Conteau Twins.

Razorlight - America
Absolute bluddy rubbish!!!, I only hope MCR knock them off as that is really growing on me despite me not liking it at the start. That song is a TUNE!!!, this is total rubbish.
