A New Chart Record
Yeah, their chart runs are REALLY bad, and so what if they reach #1?!, the chart runs are really bad for a #1 single, and the only thing that matters is the album performance. So far the album has only sold 200,000. REALLY bad when you consider that it's McFly we're talking about here, with loads of money spent on them by the label!. A film can make #1 on the box office and still be considered a flop if it don't recoup the costs.

Top75 UK Singles/Albums
From Wikipedia: Room on the 3rd Floor McFly's early sound was a mixture of pop and punk. Their debut single, "5 Colours in Her Hair", released March 29, 2004, entered the UK Singles Chart at number one in April 2004 and stayed there for two weeks. In July 2004 their second single, "Obviously", also topped the charts. This was followed by the album Room on the 3rd Floor debuting at number one in the UK Albums Chart. The album broke records, as McFly were the youngest band to have a debut album enter the charts in the top position, beating The Beatles. The third single, "That Girl", was released on September 6, 2004 and lost the battle for the top spot to Brian McFadden's "Real to Me". It went to number three, despite topping midweek sales charts. The fourth single, Room on the 3rd Floor (the album's title track), was released on November 15, 2004 and made number five. The idea for the album name "Room on the Third Floor" came from where Danny and Tom wrote most of the songs for the album. They wrote them while staying in a room on the third floor. This also gave them the idea for the song "Room on the Third Floor"......... THEY ARE SO HOT!!!!!!!!!

"I was reading some anoraky forums over the weekend, and one of them said that JK and joel better play it if it charted, and hey, we did!". It would have charted anyway, with or without this thread :), it was already #18 midweeks by the time I posted it!.

B)--> QUOTE(Dave B @ May 19 2007, 02:35 PM) 1083060[/snapback]All DJs seem to think they have a sense of humour. Ask them to play you a novelty record, they turn white with fear and tell you they can't as it's not on the playlist. I've never understood why this happens. Yeah, they only play them on "Destruct-a-disc", or that "Smash and grab" game they used to have. I hate novelty records, but it's time we used one to annoy those two morons.

If you cannot stand JK and Joel whatsoever....
Errr, no!!. I am NOT talking complete "poo", they act like a bunch of t**** forced to do their job with no interest. If they were "chart nerds", they'd get their facts right, but make tons of amterurish mistakes. They get past chart facts wrong concerning an artist for a start. And good on ya Tyron, they're complete tw*ts and Mark Goodier was the best.

BRILLIANT!!!!, let's keep it in there!! :D. It's people like them that will make Feeder always be remembered for "Buck Rogers". People say no matter how many more hits they get, they'll always be remembered for that song. Well, if JK and Joke stop winding Grant up over it everytime they interview him, then maybe it very well won't happen  . I love "Buck Rogers" , but this is a band with 23 hit singles and Grant said he'd rather be rembered for something like "Just The Way I'm Feeling"- a song that shows his true songwriting talents. It's not only that issue which makes me want to kick them, but also their poor presenting of the chart. It sounds like they're reading from autocue with no genuine interest in the chart, and the Dave Pearce thing halfway through and the way they suck up to him as if everyone should listen to his show is incredibly annoying. They also had this attitude that if you chart from 21-40 the single is worthless, when in fact a debut top 40 deserves to be recognised, no matter where it ends up. They prolly still think that now, and have been told by their bosses to play all the new entries like it or lump it. Mark Goodier knew his stuff, he was very neutral and just did what mattered- counting down the chart. If it was a debut top 40 he used to congratulate them, as after all anyone with a top 40 is sucsessful. The whole beauty of this little scheme is that they HAVE to play the song no matter what they think!! HA!! HA!! HA!!.
