Kaiser Chiefs > Off With Their Heads
I'm not looking forward to the Lilly duet, and looking at the report on Planet Sound it looks like an album with guests artists, rather than a Kaisers album, one of the tracks was recorded with the band wearing sunglasses, because Mark Ronson thought it would make the song sound different......... He's the worse producer ever.

New Feeder single "Tracing Lines/Silent Cry"- download only
I think it's a brilliantly crafted album, being ignored by the media just because they're favoured over all these "NEW BANDS!!, NEW BANDS!!". When they broke through in 2001 all this new bands rubbish was just starting up, so they did really well to get a gold album while all that was going on, and therefore did it when it was hard to get collumn inches cos they were not new. As for the petition, it's coming along pretty well!.

New Feeder single "Tracing Lines/Silent Cry"- download only
Bundle 1: iTunes Exclusive – featuring ‘Somewhere to Call Your Own’ a B-side previously unavailable digitally. 1. Tracing Lines 2. Tracing Lines (Live from XFM's All Day Breakfast) 3. Somewhere to call your own 4 Silent Cry Bundle 2: 1. Tracing Lines 2. Tracing Lines (Live from XFM's All Day Breakfast) 3. Silent Cry Bundle 3: 1. Tracing Lines (The Crypt Sessions) 2. Silent Cry (The Crypt Sessions) 3 . Tracing Lines (Instrumental) 4 . Silent Cry (Instrumental) Now, none of these are really new songs, just new versions of existing tracks. This really isn't going to get the hardcore buying the downloads, and as of now the bands commercial stance is only that of a fanbase act, and so the single will sell to those, being those who already have the album. However, a petition has been launched to get 1) a physical format released and 2) add a new song. http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/feeder/signatures.html I know I'll get flamed for this, and get the pi** ripped out of me, because this album hasn't been a sucsess in terms of overall sales, (chart position wise it's a sucsess, as it made the top 10 with zero publicity and airplay, but record labels only really care about sales, charts are just a bonus) and Feeder's singles have been dropping down the chart fast, but at the end of the day I really do not give a damn. I'm doing my bit to promote a petition, and since there are people on here who do like Feeder and collect their material, I know this petition will be of interest to them and will pass the message onto their friends :). I know that like myself they like collecting singles so they have something to hold in their hand, plus new songs, so they will be suddenly disappointed that there is now a Feeder single that does not offer these benefits. I do understand that the label are in financial difficulty, and have not had very much money to promote the album, they have worked with the band ever so hard over the past 13 years, and been a big help in getting them where they are today. however, it really does not cost that much to press a small run of CD's for the hardcore :). Read the comments on the petition, many angry and annoyed fans. Thanks for listening :).

Great albums with 10 tracks or less...
Feeder- Pushing The Senses- Despite the dreadful "Tumble and Fall", the rest of this album flows perfectly and sound brilliant. The Hives- "Your New Favourite Band"- UK/Ireland only compilation album, that runs for 30 mins, but still has quality over quantity. Mike Oldfield- "Tubular Bells"- Quite a brilliant album despite only two tracks making up the whole duration of the record.

Biggest Falls from the top 10
Say It Isn't So 10PEAK {10}-29-44-48-60-67-73R(5)->7 2000 Worse single from a really bad album, even for them. The western-themed video was a joke.

Biggest Falls from the top 10
Saying the big drop for Tumble and Fall was "deserved" was being a bit harsh tho. It's not like Feeder are the sort of band who intend to wind people up, with stupid statements like Chris Martin does, and start acting like they have their heads shoved up their a*ses. Nope, they're the total opposite :). Getting back on topic, "Walk On" by U2 is officially the record holder for the biggest drop from 5th after entering at that position.

Biggest Falls from the top 10
At least it proves I don't arse-kiss every track, just cos it's by Feeder! :P. 'Pushing the Senses" despite the afforementioned T+F is a great summer-time album, "Polythene" however is a CRAZY album, and you can't put it into a season. Echo Park is half summer for festival anthem reasons, and autumn for the others.

Biggest Falls from the top 10
In all honesty, and I really mean this. Tumble and Fall was a really bad choice for single, let alone the first from the album. It had a really sluggish pace to it, and the annoying "Yeah, yeah, yeah!" hook really made it worse. In the live version Grant sort of left that bit out, and sung it in a different voice and added "tumble and fall!" into it and blended it up. You can see he didn't really like that part of the song. Despite being one of their biggest hits, it's given a very negative response by fans, and has been dropped by live setlists on a pernament basis. The record label later regretted putting this out as the first single, and like the band heavilly believe that "Feeling a Moment" would have done much better and given the album a much better push. a friend of mine who LOVES feeder as much as myself, don't like "Tumble and Fall", it's the only Feeder song he disapproves of like myself, and every Feeder gig he didn't go on, they dropped it. It was like they played it especially for him!. He went to see them with me and my mates in Brighton, and didn't play it :). The same problem has happened with "We Are The People", many fans think this is not album launch material at all. Whoever decides what to pick first as a single is in the wrong job. The fan disappoval of Tumble and Fall can see seen in the chart run- it entered at number 5 with the hardcore buying it first regardless what they thought, then the rest of the fanbase didn't care and faded without a trace and forgotten about. The song does not sum up the top notch "Pushing the Senses" album at all. So there ya go, despite someone trying to wind me up cos I like Feeder, I actually responded with a different reply. At least one good thing came out of the single- it's b-side "Shatter" overshadowed it, and is a pernament live fave, unlike the A side!. I know someone would mention the abysmal chart run of Feeder's only bad song at some point in this thread.

#1 singles without videos?
UGH, Coldplay *pukes*, another annoying band in the long list in "The 'in' things to like", why won't they just suffer a Darkness-like backlash!!?.

#1 singles without videos?
TOTP that week insisted on showing a black and white video, which was from the Manic Millenium NYE show a few weeks previous. That was one of the worse episodes of the show ever.

Portishead chart question
"Portishead" was a #1 album in New Zealand, the only time they made #1 anywhere as far as I'm aware, but was not as sucsessful worldwide as "Dummy" in terms of sales.
