  1. I don't know where 2017 has gone, but me girlfriend can't wait for it to be over and start fresh in 2018, she's had THAT bad of a year....
  2. Saturday 9th December: West Ham 1-3 Chelsea (12:30) Burnley 1-1 Watford Crystal Palace 1-2 Bournemouth Huddersfield 1-1 Brighton Swansea 1-1 West Brom Tottenham 2-1 Stoke Newcastle 1-2 Leicester (17:30) Sunday 10th December: Southampton 1-3 Arsenal (12:00) Liverpool 3-2 Everton (14:15) Manchester United 1-1 Manchester City (16:30) Boy, did I have a rough week with both the midweeks and weekend....
  3. For those ailing, I can relate.....I've been sniffling meself the past 10 days or so.....compounding the sniffles was the sudden passing of Mama big's beloved dog Wednesday last week....the pooch hadn't eaten for a couple of days, which made mama big worried....she was able to get the dog to the vet, the vet taking some x-rays and doing some blood work, and at that time the vet thought it may be heart related, and they wanted to keep the dog for a couple of days for observation....sadly, the dog passed round 7:00 p.m. local time Wednesday, and with the home phone on the fritz, they couldn't call to let us know right then....wasn't until Thursday morning when mama big called the vet's office to check up on the dog, she was dealt the sad news....I still expect to be greeted by that lovable pesky mutt when I walk in the house after work... :( :( :( :( :(
  4. Eh, it was easier for me to post all my predictions now....the frame of mind I'm in right now with the unexpected passing of the family dog, I may very well forget to do the weekend later in the week...

  7. Yes, at this point, things are okay with me.....took me some gentle pestering to find out how me girlfriend's doing since she's been back in Georgia USA from the end of August....only news I got from her a couple of weeks ago was that she was involved in a car accident, which added to the crazy stuff going on at home for her. I know she was scheduled for 3 tests during all this time she's been home, and, I figure she'll tell ne what's going on with those tests when she comes back down to Florida for a visit, and to help out a friend of hers with a couple of businesses the friend of hers has going on...The humidity has finally started to drop here in Florida, making it much more comfortable, all the way round here...
  8. Yep, the Donald's in Japan currently.....I just gave my younger brother a wee bit of a hard time as his flight from Tokyo Thailand was delayed 2.5 hours, telling him he missed his chance to shake the president's hand. He's none too fond of the Donald, him being a hard core liberal of a Democrat....
  9. Rats.... 2 points off the top spot this week.....but, I had a decent week, nonetheless....looks like MAYBE I'll finish top 10 at the end of this season, but it's too soon to tell as of yet, 11 fixtures in....
  10. Now I know what to send Grandmaster Flatty for Crimbo this year....   :P :P :P
  11. Saturday 4th November: Stoke 1-1 Leicester (12:30) Huddersfield 2-1 West Brom Newcastle 2-2 Bournemouth Southampton 1-1 Burnley Swansea 1-2 Brighton West Ham 1-3 Liverpool (17:30) Sunday 5th November: Tottenham 2-1 Crystal Palace (12:00) Manchester City 3-2 Arsenal (14:15) Chelsea 2-1 Manchester United (16:30) Everton 1-2 Watford (16:30) Let's see how I manage with these prognostications....looks like I may be headed into a 10-11 point streak with me prognosticating...

Used to have about 100-125 cassettes at one point, but now have maybe 20, between both meself and mum...had a wide range, too, including ABBA, Big Country, Cheap Trick, Gordon Lightfoot, Jethro Tull, U2 and ZZ Top...now am down to about 6-7 Enya cassettes and a couple others. I'd have to go look to see what mum has. I also had a bunch of classical music and madrigal singers cassettes as well.... EDIT: I used to have a couple of different cassette players, but over the years sold them off in garage sales/jumbles....ja friend of mine has a contraption at home that he uses to swap vinyl and cassettes to cd and has a lot of those vinyl/cassettes on mp3/mp4 players as well as the cd format...
  13. Saturday 28th October: Manchester United 1-3 Tottenham (12:30) Arsenal 3-1 Swansea Crystal Palace 1-1 West Ham Liverpool 1-2 Huddersfield Watford 1-1 Stoke West Brom 1-4 Manchester City Bournemouth 2-3 Chelsea(17:30) Sunday 29th October: Brighton 2-1 Southampton (13:30) Leicester 3-1 Everton (16:00) Monday 30th October: Burnley 1-1 Newcastle (20:00) I'm happy to be a co-winner for this weekend....let's see how I do with these fixtures upcoming for the All Hallow's Eve weekend....
  14. Shocked I am, to say the least on that one....but hey, I'll gladly take the 5 points for that match..... As Jose Mourinho said in the post match interview, the better team won today, referring to Huddersfield.... I think I had the Stoke Bournemouth results exactly right, as well.... It's good to see all 3 newly promoted clubs doing well at this point.... EDIT: By my fuzzy maths skills, looks like I have 14 points through Saturday's fixtures....
  15. The weather prognosticators here are always doing the same thing during hurricanes, standing out in the middle of a street to give a first-hand account on what the hurricane is doing....
  16. Fixtures (All 15:00 GMT unless otherwise stated): Friday 20th October: West Ham 1-1 Brighton (20:00) Saturday 21st October: Chelsea 2-2 Watford (12:30) Huddersfield 2-1 Manchester United Manchester City 6-2 Burnley Newcastle 1-1 Crystal Palace Stoke 1-2 Bournemouth Swansea 2-1 Leicester Southampton 2-1 West Brom(17:30) Sunday 15th October: Everton 2-1 Arsenal (13:30) Tottenham 2-1 Liverpool (16:00) Let's see how I do with this bunch of fixtures...
  17. Ophelia should be done with Oirland by tomorrow night, and the roads passable to get home....I know it took a several days round me to get the roads cleared from the downed trees/limbs, and there's still piles of brush and such all round, being slowly removed...
  18. By the looks of Ophelia at this point, Tess's flight may very well be cancelled...
  19. Flying in very windy conditions is not pleasant, I agree... I'm partial to this version of Baidin Fheidhlimidh meself... :) :)
  20. Yep, looks like Ophelia will be more of an issue with the western coast of Ireland....*starts singing 'baidin fheidhlimidh d'imidh go Galbha, baidin fheidhlimidh 's fheidhlimidh ann, baidin fheidhlimidh d'imidh go Galbhla, baidin fheidhlimidh's fheidhlimidh ann....*

With the USNMT failing to qualify, manager Bruce Arena has resigned his position with the squad....would be interesting to see if the US are able to Qualify for the 2022 World Cup....
  22. It's quite possible the insurance companies would raise rates for those making claims...then again, there are very few insurance companies doing business here in Florida for home or business insurance, as a lot of the companies that've left over the past few years were crying poverty from all the past hurricanes/tropical storms/tornadoes/flooding over the past 15 years or so....I know my parents are paying round about 2200 USD every 6 months for insurance from a carrier of last resort, so to speak, since no other companies are willing to insure the house, and some of these places that DO offer any kind of homeowner's insurance make the homeowner jump through all kinds of hoops for this inspection or that inspection, only for that company to say no to insuring the home....I know quite a few people here in Florida who don't have any homeowner insurance, and they still have 10 years of mortgage payments...don't know how it is in Europe, but here in the US, anyone who has a mortgage out on their home is required to have homeowner insurance...when my parents paid off the house here in Florida, the insurance company they did have dropped them like a fresh-from-the-oven baked potato, and they had 0 claims with that insurance company for the house...all comes down to greed for the insurance companies, and them wanting to get as much as they can from someone before the person's dropped from the company...[end rant]
  23. Things are slowly getting back to normal round my area, but, methinks other areas that were harder hit by Irma than I was will take months, perhaps years, to get back to normal. There all kinds of piles of brush (i.e. downed tress/tree limbs) that have yet to be picked up/removed from curbside all over the place round me....we were happy when power was restored after being out a week here at chez biggy....no damage to house or cars here, but, as I think I may have previously posted, a neighbor lost 80% of their wooden fence round their back yard, the winds just toppled it into their yard...and another neighbor lost their aluminum carport from their driveway....and a couple of other houses 2 streets away had a very large oak tree land upon their roofs....those 2 homes looked as if the roof damage wasn't very bad at all....
  24. HEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR....
  25. Thanks for letting me know of my forgetfulness.....been corrected....
