  1. This is a huge win for the England Women's squad...as Dobbo just mentioned, it's sure to give the ladies' squad a boost for the future...
  2. Rugby's a tough sport, regardless of gender...I had a junior high school teacher waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day who played rugby.....he had to give it up after his 5th concussion....he was my 8th grade health teacher, who decided his health was more important than continuing on with playing the sport....
  3. I'd rather wear a coat in July than to carry a squeegee along to remove the perspiration from just sitting outside in the shade at 7 in the morning local time....in just a pair of shorts....
  4. Erm....not so much.....to lose the match on an own goal in extra time in the second half, what a way to go....
  5. Have you tried gargling with warm salt water? Personally, I gargle with hydrogen peroxide when I feel a sore throat coming on....
  6. Thanks, Tess...wouldn't wish this on anyone, what I've been dealing with since the beginning of the month...the surgeon said it was a 6 cm abscess, and deep.....am feeling better, still sore from it all, which is to be expected, the soreness....
  7. I'm going to keep me mouth shut concerning the Obamas.... Went to me doctor Tuesday last week for something that was causing me some considerable pain, for which he admitted me straightaway to hospital. Had a sebaceous cyst on the upper part of me right hip that decided to go all abscess on me, causing the hospitalization. Had the abscess drained Thursday last week, and now have a nice big open wound where it was, since they want it to drain and heal from the inside out. Was discharged from hospital on Monday, and now just trying to heal up at home, along with taking some meds to make sure there's no more infection....

  20. Mum's doing okay, Tess, and me back is one right royal mess.....post MRI on my thoracic and lumbar spine, and a visit to a back specialist, I have one nice little litany of things going on in my back...I have arthritis, bone spurs, deteriorated vertebral discs, 3 herniated discs in my lumbar spine causing spinal stenosis, curvature of the lumbar spine, and an inflamed sacroiliac on the right side....was prescribed meloxicam as an anti-inflammatory, which caused me a nasty rash, was also prescribed tramadol for pain, which made the rash worse....was prescribed 800 MG ibuprofen in place of the meloxicam....was also prescribed methocarbamol as a muscle relaxer, which isn't causing me any problems....back specialist has me currently going through physical therapy for me back, in an effort to reduce the pain/inflammation...if the therapy doesn't seem to be helping, then injections in the back are next.....option of very last resort would ne surgery, which I'm really REALLY hoping to avoid....
  21. Yay back problems.....seems as though, from a CT scan results, I have lumbar stenosis, deteriorated discs, arthritis and 2 herniated discs in me back.....and, to top it off, mum's back in the hospital, 2nd time in 3 weeks, with chest pains.... *hirples off to the recliner and heating pad...* Have an MRI on my back scheduled for this coming Monday....a scan my doctor wants, to see what kind of mess my back is really in, before proceeding farther with any stronger pain meds or therapy....
