  1. Same happened to me at my 20 year reunion....drew blank on several names.....then again, there were a number of classmates who forgot my name, but recognized my face....
  2. Had that happen to me when I went to my 20 tear high school reunion....a lot of 'you haven't changed a bit' directed my way.....of course, I did not recognize several of my class mates, as they changed hair, gained or lost weight, or completely changed their look where I had no clue who some were...my sister-in-law's sister who graduated in my class, said 'well, that's an A*** brother if I ever saw one', as I was walking away from her upon leaving my hotel room...
  3. Well, I'll be a son-of-a-gun.....    Surely wasn't expecting to win the Epsom Derby.....
  4. I'll take #8 please EDIT: I'm willing to take on additional numbers, if needed....
  5. I'm in, if it's not too late....you can draw 2 or more for me, if needed....
  6. I wonder if the PL final day had a play in the Sports forum being so high for the 12 May Posters' chart....
  7. Saints preserve me, me mum's adopted 2 chihuahua mixes, a brother/sister duo, 5 years old.....the male whines for both food and attention, his sister bullies him on occasion....heaven forbid they be closed in their cage, they whine like mad, throwing in an occasional bark till mum lets them out....only way to keep them out of the bedrooms and off the beds at night is closing the bedroom doors....and they have the habit of going potty in the house....

Looks like the WWE is about to have some other competition with All Elite Wrestling, with AEW having apparently signed Chris Jerico, Cody and Dustin Rhodes, Jon Moxley (aka Dean Ambrose), and former announcer Jim Ross.
  9. I suppose the bottom 3 of us are relegated to the champions league....
  10. I do enjoy watching Aussie Rules Football...can be very physical at times...haven't seen any matches here on telly for a while, but it's something that can be exciting to watch....especially when they turn out to be high-scoring affairs.... Geelong, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne....those are the teams I can remember off the top of me noggin...
  11. Final Day Fixtures (all kick off at 15:00 BST ) Sunday 12th May Brighton & Hove Albion 1-1 Manchester City Burnley 3-1 Arsenal Crystal Palace 2-3 AFC Bournemouth Fulham 2-1 Newcastle United Leicester City 2-2 Chelsea Liverpool 3-3 Wolverhampton Wanderers Manchester United 1-2 Cardiff City Southampton 1-2 Huddersfield Town Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 Everton Watford 3-2 West Ham United I'm #11! I'm #11! I'm #11!! my typical luck, I'll wind up with a 6-point Final Day....but, I can't really complain, as I look at this as something fun to do, and I surely don't analyze every little thing that goes right or wrong for a particular squad of 11...been having a grand time the past 4-5 seasons prognosticating the fixtures, and many thanks to those who've started/maintained these threads since I've been participating...
  12. Methinks I'd like haggis, as I do enjoy the kidney in a steak and kidney pie....yes, I'm a nutter that way....
  13. Perhaps too much of the barley and oats dried it out...or not enough of the other goodies (i.e. internal organs)…. ;) ;)
  14. I know they exist...an acquaintance of mine, born in Scotland, now in England, has filled me in on some of the details...there may even be a couple of Rabbie Burns Night festivities here in the US...to enjoy some haggis, and several tasty single malt whiskies....got me kilt, no place to sport it...
  15. Oh, to attend a Rabbie Burns night festivities....

  17. I know many years ago he lost an eye while working on a piece, so, as you rightly stated, he does have a team doing most of the physical work for his pieces...I've not been to his exhibit hall here in Florida, yet....
  18. Don't remember if I mentioned it before, Dale Chihuly has a place here in my corner of Florida with a bunch of his works on display....think he's rotated some of his work between here in Florida and Seattle....
  19. Holy Effing cr@p!! I was co-winner??!!!!!!!!????? How in the bloody flaming blue hell I manage that???
  20. As much as I'd love to go over to visit, I just don't have enough vacation time where I work, and I just don't have the funds for the trip right now, especially as I wound up taking on a car payment a couple of weeks back to replace my car that was totaled 3 weeks back, along with student loans and 2 credit card payments.... Even looking for a deal on a trip to France, I can't afford it just yet...
  21. Yep, I'm sporting the French surname from dear old granddad, to my knowledge, my ever-lovin dad never made it to Paris, but did make it to Bordeaux and Nice to visit family while he was on leave, as the ship he was on was docked in Marseilles in 1960. Dear old dad was in the US Navy. I can go back a couple more generations past granddad on dad's side, with the surname....one tradition that's kind of gone by the wayside is to put up a bottle of wine for each family member born into the family, and have it on a special occasion with said person, once they're old enough, of course...one of my dad's grandmothers was very happy to see my dad, and crack open the bottle of 1938 wine she put up for him....will have to ask dad if he can remember if it was a red wine or a white...

  23. Am also saddened about Notre Dame.....thankfully the bell towers have survived, along with a lot of the relics and artwork. As the days move forward, they're going to see what else has survived for any artwork, and hopefully it can be restored...and to think my dad's father might have attended this grand cathedral, as he was from Paris, my dad's dad...
