Rate The Cover-Round 43 (Anywhere Is Japan)
. It's good. I'd like to see what Angelic Shine could come up with. LOL :naughty: Is that allowed?

How big/small of an Enya collection do you have?
Well, not enough to buy it for himself, OYS. I bought OT:TC for him as a wedding present last year, as a reminder of some great family holidays we have had in Scotland, accompanied by Enya's music. It was really hard to give him something I hadn't got myself! We all had a week together again in the Scottish Highlands this last October and he brought OT:TC to play. Only thing was, we 'forgot' to get the discs out of the car multichanger when the holiday ended! YAY! :yahoo: So I still got em! :cheer: :w00t:

When have you listened to Enya today?
Today's track was Caribbean Blue. What a track! It still gives me the tingles, but only if I don't overplay it. Talking of which, I've thought of a better acronym for EOS. What about CHEOPS? (Chronic Enya Over-Play Syndrome) No connection to the Pharaoh who built the largest pyramid at Giza, but I kinda liked the ring to it.

The Christmas Album, 2007
For the record. I have no axe to grind against Ben. He has no history with me. As regards personal nastiness to other members, IMHO it is not justifiable either in public posting or private messaging. But if you do use it, you shouldn't be surprised if you get some back. I appreciate the news about the release that I have heard here, and I know where I shall come next time I need bona fide (in my view) information about Enya from Warner. My thanks again to Ben and David. ;)

The Christmas Album, 2007
You're welcome, David. You took a bit of a mauling yesterday, and I really felt for you. I enjoy Unity but that thread is not one to be particularly proud of.

The Christmas Album, 2007
Well, I'm amazed! I looked in yesterday from the Unity site (member since 2006) for the first time in ages, and made a note to read this thread thru today from the beginning. I am AMAZED that Ben was telling us news about this release as long ago as October 24th. Which I fully believe BTW. There has been no end of angst in Unity about it in this time (as David well knows) - EIGHT successive threads (200 posts each) on the subject, now on the 9th, during which people have got very distressed and even quarrelsome about it all. Basically I wish I'd heard the news sooner! Ben should be congratulated on bringing the most concrete news about the release hitherto, which I have no reason to doubt. I deplore the private message to Ben from Florae Arcanum, (whom I do not recognise from Unity BTW), which if he/she is from Unity, shows Unity in a poor light. Speaking purely for myself, a very big THANK YOU to Ben and David for the news. You have at least ONE appreciative Enya fan here! Well done, guys! :)

Interview on Newstalk
. It's a good interview and full of interesting detail. I sometimes think Enya's English can sound a little stilted, and she says it's not her first language. Do we know if she talks Gaelic or English normally?

Enya's Music - Is it religious?
Fascinating post, Ben. Thank you. We like to say grace before meals, and for variety we use different languages, including one VERY long one in Latin, which was said at Formal Meals when I was at Uni. Another I like to use is Athair ar Neamh. Dia linn - Father in Heaven, God bless us. Very simple. People always ask the meaning. It gives me a good opportunity to bring Enya into the conversation. lol. Not really! As regards How Can I Keep From Singing, this is indeed a hymn, but with specific references to God or Christ removed. I believe Lowry's original words went like this - What though my joys and comforts die? The Lord my Savior liveth; What though the darkness gather round! Songs in the night He giveth: No storm can shake my inmost calm While to that refuge clinging; Since Christ is Lord of Heav’n and earth, How can I keep from singing? Enya's 'Since love is Lord of Heaven and earth' is great. IMO It doesn't diminish its meaning in the slightest. So is Enya's music religious? It can be if you want it to be. :teresa:

How big/small of an Enya collection do you have?
Trust Big to get his name in the thread title! lol Anyway, I'm not having him outdo my collection! How's these apples... Watermark - CD & Cassette Celts - CD & Cassette Shepherd Moons - CD & Cassette Memory of Trees - CD A Day Without Rain - CD Amarantine - CD OT:TC ('Borrowed' from my son- he he) OK I'm an Enya minimalist. Multum in Parvo - Much in Little :teresa:

When have you listened to Enya today?
When have I listened to Enya today? On my way home! LOL Yeah really! I allow myself one track on the way to work and one coming home. (This is to avoid EOS - Enya Overplay Syndrome - yeah it does exist. Have you had it?) Today's was Na Laetha Geal M'Oige. From OT:TC . I've only recently acquired this and the different track arrangement is giving my Enya listening a whole new lease of life. Because of EOS I listened to NO Enya for 9 MONTHS this year, but I survived OK. OK thats this year's entry done - lol. J/K

Introduce yourself
Just followed these other two Musketeers in and here I am! All for one etc An Enya fan from the moment I heard Orinoco Flow, started buying her stuff in the 90s I guess. I must be a one-girl guy, as I really don't regularly listen to other stuff. I like(d) Blondie (ok two girls), and in the 60s The Kinks and The Animals, oh, and an obscure French female singer called Mireille Matthieu (3 girls)... BTW Also known as Popo Hardbottle of Bywater
