Working with Britney Spears?
Funny, you're making it sound like Kylie Minouge is some kind of a credible artist. A better question'd be - they've worked with Kylie, wtf shouldn't they work with Britney?" Sorry, Kylie may have been in the biz longer... But as far as talent goes, she's not above Britney. Neither can really sing, neither can really write (does Kylie even write her own songs?) and Britney performs better which is subjective. Technically speaking though, neither are great musicians. If SS worked with Kylie, they can do it with Britney.

Bonus Track For The Open Door
I love it. Why did she say she wrote it as a joke though? If it's a joke it's preety lame... it's not funny.

Is "The Open Door" catchy at all?
I'm glad you guys like the lyrics. That was my biggest fear after reading the lyrics to Weight Of The World. I fnd it stupid she wrote a complain song to the old fans. Her voice sounds very computerized too. I love Evanescence for their lyrics and vocals, so if they suck in those departments, it has got to be at least catchy for me to buy it. Call Me When You're Sober was preety catchy but sucked. I listened to "Last Song I'm Wasting On You" and while I liked it, I wouldn't like it if the entire album was just a bunch of verses without chorus. Different like Origin? That would be sweet. Origin is what I call catchy too. Bjork's "Human Behaviour" is not catchy to me.

Thanks for the replies. So it's not catchy? Do you consider Weight Of The World and Sweet Sacrifice catchy? I liked those on first listen [yes, I just downloaded SS too.] I was waiting to buy it, but than I realized... "whoa, I need that money" so :P

Is "The Open Door" catchy at all?
I keep hearing that it's not as mainstream as Fallen, no hooks at all. Is that true? I liked "Weight of the world" but that's all I heard. Is is true that the album has no hooks? I was planning to buy it, but the reviews are not what I wished they would be. I loved how Fallen had amazing hooks. I want to buy it before I listen it, but I don't want to buy something I won't like.

Lily Allen VS The Others...
She's not even talented. Her lyrics make me wanna cut myself, espeically the thought of other people appreciating them. Does she have any vocal range at all? She's basically a fake and untalented version of Pink.

Britney's voice on her fifth LP
Her duet with Kevin is supposed to be released in March, let's hope she leaves the public a little more time to forget about that mess.

Britney's voice on her fifth LP
Actually, she used to sing live just fine earlier into her career. The question is whether she'll get back to to that or not.

Britney's voice on her fifth LP
Early 2007? She has to breastfeed for the next 6 months, she's got a lot to do. I doubt we'll hear a new single before August 2007. The album will be released during Christmas for sure.

Britney's voice on her fifth LP
Forgot to mention Dionne Warwick recorded a duet with Britney Spears @ February 16th! That was posted at Dionne Warwick's official fanclub. Britney is the only pop singer on the list of duets. That just shows Britney was heading for a different direction vocally in February, that's when she said "I found out after the baby that I can sing!"

Britney's voice on her fifth LP
Thanks. I noticed we heard a lot about her voice recently, I figured it would make a cool post. This clip just proves how untrained her voice really is: You hear her singing through her nose and sounding just okay or bad, but then at 00:45-00:50 she's REALLY belting and sounding great. That clip is from 2002 so some of her childhood voice was still there, and she stopped smoking in 2004. I agree with you, but killer tracks don't necessarily equal no singing. For example, Beyonce's "Deja Vu"... I hate to mention her, but Christina Aguilera's "Ain't No Other Man" is another example. She can stay fun and upbeat while showcasing her vocals, but she doesn't train her voice so I'm not sure if she knows how to do it. The quotes are positive for the most part... but then you hear Rebellion. Maybe "Rebellion" is actually a demo from "The Original Doll" era, and Britney just put it on the website because it fits the "tiger" theme. It doesn't sound finished to me, and I don't think she'll ever finish it. For My Sister could be an old song she recorded (before Sean) that she just put on the website for JL's birthday.

Britney's voice on her fifth LP
A collection of quotes about Britney's voice. How well do you think she'll sing this time? Will she prove anyone wrong? Will she keep on having breathy overproduced vocals? The quotes go by chronological order: Britney Spears, February 2006: "When I was little, I would listen to myself. But the record label signs you, and you're just thankful to get a hit song. You can't really show off your voice and where you came from...I found out after the baby that I can sing!" February 2006: Britney recorded a song with Dionne Warwick. Then, she started working with Swizzbeats, Sean Garrett, Ne-Yo and J.R Rotem. A few months later: Sean Garett: Believe it or not, her voice was better than I expected.", (though he was praising Jojo's voice a lot more in this interview) Swizzbeats promised "a lot of sonic changes." Larry Rudolph: "when she was younger she sang from her diaphagm and was able to belt out a tune in a deep way. When she started singing for the whole pop thing, she changed the way she sang and started singing from her throat. This didn't allow her to have the range that she once had. That fact hasn't changed." Then you have Rotem saying, "I was blown away to see Britney record in the studio. When you hear this final song that sounds so professional, you don't know how much of it is overproduced, how much of it is edited. But I found the actual talent was really there." HOWEVER, we've all heard For My Sister (Little Me) and you hear she sings that song from her throat, she sounds weak. You can hear she's trying a little harder on Rebellion, but she still doesn't sound that great at all. JR has worked with Paris Hilton and Rihanna, as far as female singers go. Not good. I realize that she's not about the voice, but isn't it time for her to sing? We know she's got the potential. Do you think Britney will prove herself vocally with this album? It sounds like Britney had some different plans for the album in the beginning, but then she just went to the usual hitmakers and the result (Rebellion) is far from impressive vocally. Maybe she wants people to be surprised, so she keeps the better songs? Talk about wishful thinking.
