 A rat ran across my foot once. That made me jump about a mile. I wonder if Elephants are really afraid of mice, or if that's just an old wive's tale.

Weddings are... very delicate occasions. If you can steer clear of the bride's mother and other female relatives, you can do fine, but if you're part of the wedding, you're sunk. Everyone's emotional, the caterer is always late or vanished, some flower girl has a tantrum, and on and on. If I ever get married, I'm going to the justice of the peace. -_- But if you're just a guest, they can be enjoyable. :funky: Cake, all those nice little sandwiches they always have, and punch. :D And then watching all the bride's maids sweating in their hideous dress, and being glad you're not them. :teresa:

Ewww, snakes. :puke2: How I hate them. :puke2: :puke2: :puke2: They're just so... creepy. I've nearly stepped on a Copperhead snake (they're poisonous) two or three times. It was when we first moved into our house, for some reason we were always seeing them, but we haven't seen any since, thank goodness. It was when I was picking up things to mow the yard, I reached down to pick up a rope, then my brother said, oh my gosh there's a copperhead right there! It was right next to where I'd picked up the rope. I jumped back, and I think it just went off. Then we were taking a walk, and I was just about to step right onto a Copperhead when my mom yanked me back. It think that happened twice. I think maybe I need to watch my step a little better...  Sounds like a sci-fi movie! You draw nicely. ^_^ I don't like mice either. They look so cute, but they're nasty. We have a mouse problem. Our cat and traps get some, but still, they see our pantry and they're like :w00t: !
  5. Eek, I know how you feel David. :( Impending doom, dark despair, what causeth these feelings? TESTS!!! EXAMS!!! SCHOOL!!!
  6. Ah, so they're still making music then! I remember when everyone was so wild about them, they were everywhere, on cereal boxes, t-shirts. You don't like Loreena? :o Bad Gloria, bad!  Actually, I can see why she might not appeal to some. Her music is rather unusual. Have you listened to The Book of Secrets though? The Mummers' Dance is very addictive, you might like it. :D

Eh? Very mysterious, hopefully we'll know more tomorrow. It would seem more likely to me that it's not anything very important, otherwise Aigle or Warner would have announced it at least a few days in advance.

I saw an advertisement for it on TV twice, on the Food Network of all places. I too think it could have done much better with more promotion, since it did fairly well as it is. It's really amazing it did this well without much promo. ^_^

Yes, if it's a commission. I've been getting more and more lately. People see my work somehow or another, and they're like, hey, can you illustrate this story, paint me a painting, and so on. ^_^

I probably won't either  , but I have so much fun solving the riddles it makes up for it.
  11. Maybe so. :) I suppose some people would assume that since you like Enya so much, you'd have groups like Secret Garden, Clannad, or people like Loreen McKennitt and David Arkenstone on your list, but you've got mostly pop/rock on your list. Btw, it's been ages since I've heard anything about the Backstreet Boys. Are they still together? :D

 I'm actually craving some time to paint my own personal stuff... I've been swamped with commissions lately, but what I really want to do is paint my own ideas. However, commissions pay money, and my own ideas do not. Right now I'm working on a piece for a lady who wants a b-day present for her husband. It's 1 Corinthians 13 (the love chapter) and I'm doing this elaborate knotwork border, then in caligraphy I'll write out the chapter in the center. It looks nice, but it's boring work... I'd rather be working on my pet project, a watercolour of my own idea. :P

    :o I bet you're right! :funky:
  14. Yeah, I know. I don't really know why most of my favorites aren't well-known people. 'Tis weird. :D

ROFL @ Caribbean Beans. I once saw A Day Without Pain on Ebay. I think it's kinda silly when people call Enya a fairy, too. Goddess or diva is fine, lots of female singers are callled goddesses because they sing so well, are gorgeous, and all that, but I've heard some people speculating that Enya's a reincarnated goddess, or a fairy, etc. It's kinda funny actually. I'm fascinated by fairies myself, I like to draw them, etc. but I wouldn't call Enya one. We had tons of ants in our kitchen one summer. I don't remeber what we did to get rid of them, but there were quite a lot. I've heard that ants are intelligent too. It's hard to think of a bug being intelligent.
  16. 5 from me. I really like that cover. Like Ben and David said, simple but effective. B) Hm, those might have been nice covers too. I think I like the second one best, if it were a little clearer, and maybe cropped some, it would make a very nice cover. B)

Lucky you, David! B) I've heard the Irish love to talk too, so I guess it must be true. My Dad has lots of Irish ancestry, and he talks and talks and talks, then talks some more. After a while, you feel like this:   Ooh, yes, you'r right. Amarantine really is awesome, it's been growing on me lately.
  18. Just went and posted mine. :D

That's probably more likely. ^_^ I know I've said this before but... I hope the new contest starts soon! B)

I don't think I would, though I've actually started liking other Enya songs that I didn't much care for before, like Hope Has A Place. I read on Unity that the vocal part was recorded in the Silent Valley in Ireland, and that gave it a whole new perspective for me. B)

I like Epona, it's a nice tinkly little melody. B) I like Midnight Blue and Portrait a lot too, but I love all Enya's piano pieces.

That's a good way to remember somebody's birthday.
  23. I'll say! If they would make more presentation boxes and sell them on Amazon or something like that, I'll bet they'd sell like hot cakes! :funky:
  24. Watermark 22 Shepherd Moons 20 A Day Without Rain 23+ Amarantine 6- Oh dear, it's hard to decide which one to take down now.

I've never heard of such a thing! :o If I don't do my school, I get in trouble. If do my school, I don't get in trouble. Maybe I should move to England. :w00t:
