  1. Nicki Minaj may have a lot of haters, but she has an awful lot of fans as well. Another generic song like Starships or Pound The Alarm for Capital to lap up would guarantee her Top 10 at least, I'd say.
  2. I can't believe Monster never went Top 75, it's by far my favourite Kanye track.
  3. Falling by Haim, Work by Iggy Azalea and Swimming Pools by Kendrick Lamar have all been lingering around the #40-#75 mark for the last couple of weeks. Just when one of them seems likely to crack the Top 40 for one reason or another it will start to fall again
  4. I think people may have been slightly overestimating how well Need U (100%) was going to do - I mean obviously it's going to go to #1, but maybe not on as high sales as everyone was anticipating. That said, it may start increasing its lead tomorrow so it being The Saturday's sales from last week could well be within reach.
  5. I'm still waiting for someone to perform 'Dog Days (Are Over)' on The Voice for it to reach a new peak...
  6. Did B*Witched really have a song called Thank Abba For The Music? Oh dear.
  7. The Now! version is quite high, so combined it will be Top 40.
  8. It's nice to have a week where the #1 is unpredictable! It could go to any of four songs at the moment, I'd rather it be The Saturdays but wouldn't be disappointed with Pink.
  9. http://cdn.pitchfork.com/news/49833/8f1d074e.jpg Laura Marling's 4th album, Once I Was An Eagle, is set to be released on the 27th May. Where Can I Go, the first single from the album, has also been premiered: I'm not expecting it to be massive but I hope at the very least the single can go top 40 as she's never had one do so before, and maybe the album could go top 3 and become her highest peaking? Either way I'm really looking forward to this one, her last two albums are really strong.
  10. The Saturdays have held up far better than most expected I think, it will probably go on to be their biggest selling single yet which is impressive so far into their career. I bet not many artists have their biggest seller more than 5 years after debuting.
  11. 'Work' by Iggy Azalea has been lurking around the #45-#50 spot for a few days now. I really hope it goes top 40 at some point as there are very few female rappers who get even minor hits, and it is a really good song.
  12. I think The Saturdays have it in the bag, Mirrors will have to climb rapidly to overcome the big lead they have no doubt built.
  13. I never really understood the love for All Fired Up, but then again I prefer The Saturdays when they are really poppy so it was never going to appeal to me. I am hoping What About Us gets to #1 even if it is far from their best because they do deserve one - you can't deny the impression they have had.
  14. It's a shame that AlunaGeorge aren't even in the Top 100, I genuinely thought they would be a Top 10 contender. I can only hope it will climb throughout the week but I doubt it now.
  15. Its filth is what makes it undeniable.
  16. I think that AlunaGeorge's Attracting Flies could do quite well next week, it's quite similar to White Noise and I think their success on that has given them a bit more exposure. I think it should safely make the Top 10.
  17. Really?! S&M is my favourite Rihanna track! I don't mind CKB but the single release killed it for me.
  18. I'm hoping that Dog Days (Are Over) by Florence + the Machine gets a huge boost one of these days, it's too good to never even enter the Top 20!
  19. I do think she messed everything up with regards to Born This Way, The Queen and Fashion Of His Love should have been included on the main album and at least one of those should have been a single.

Lady Gaga) xx Christmas Tree 03 The Fame 05 The Fame Monster 01 Born This Way I haven't done them all, I'll try to listen to those I have never heard of before the deadline though. All of my scores are relative - in a rate with other artists I would say the majority of songs would be over 8 but I though it makes it more interesting/fair if they are a bit more spread out.
  21. With Born This Way (and Skyfall for that matter) it was more a case of bad luck that it didn't reach #1. Had they been released on the Sunday instead of Friday both would have easily been #1 I'm sure.
  22. Those songs you thought seemed likely to reach #1 prior to their release, but that never took off as you'd anticipated. Looking at the top 10 hits from last year, ones I expected to get to #1 were Good Time and Blow Me (One Last Kiss). I think that if they had been released more effectively both could have reached the top spot - definitely in the case of Good Time, it's release was diabolical. Another was She Wolf (Falling To Pieces) - I expected it to do far better than it eventually did.
  23. Re: Demi; it would depend on the quality of the song and whether radio supported it. It's all well and good mentioning WANEGBT and CMM, but they were played constantly on the radio so were bound to hang around a long time. The two were also incredibly catchy so were always bound to do quite well, regardless of release probably. I haven't heard the song so I can't really judge, but Demi Lovato doesn't have a name in the UK so OA/OS could backfire. Sometimes it does work, but other times it doesn't.
  24. I love Adele and I think her success is amazing, but Skyfall really needs to leave the chart now. It's been here for almost 5 months and is still in the T20. I don't even think it's that good a song really, it's good but not among her best at all. Every little bit of exposure it receives seems to send it rocketing up the iTunes chart. The first week sales for her next album are going to be phenomenal.
