  1. Re: Demi; it would depend on the quality of the song and whether radio supported it. It's all well and good mentioning WANEGBT and CMM, but they were played constantly on the radio so were bound to hang around a long time. The two were also incredibly catchy so were always bound to do quite well, regardless of release probably. I haven't heard the song so I can't really judge, but Demi Lovato doesn't have a name in the UK so OA/OS could backfire. Sometimes it does work, but other times it doesn't.
  2. I love Adele and I think her success is amazing, but Skyfall really needs to leave the chart now. It's been here for almost 5 months and is still in the T20. I don't even think it's that good a song really, it's good but not among her best at all. Every little bit of exposure it receives seems to send it rocketing up the iTunes chart. The first week sales for her next album are going to be phenomenal.

I think it's a good idea, but it might not be a good idea to include anything prior to The Fame. I doubt many people will have heard it.
  5. I have tickets for Manchester as well, what date are you going on? Mine's the Thursday the 9th I think, overwhelmed by excitement :w00t:

    It seems like longer...
  7. There's going to be a massive clear-out of the T40 this week, on iTunes at least. When you compare songs with where they were on Wednesday morning there are some huge drops: 07 // 13 // Disclosure - White Noise (feat. AlunaGeorge) (DOWN 6) 12 // 19 // Dizzee Rascal - Bassline Junkie (DOWN 7) 15 // 24 // Little Mix - Change Your Life (DOWN 9) 17 // 25 // will.i.am - Scream & Shout (feat. Britney Spears) (DOWN 8) 18 // 26 // Fall Out Boy - My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (DOWN 8) 19 // 27 // Rita Ora - Radioactive (DOWN 8) 22 // 34 // Bingo Players - Get Up (Rattle) (feat. Far East Movement) (DOWN 12) 24 // 35 // Drake - Started From The Bottom (DOWN 11) 29 // 59 // Lawson - Learn To Love Again (DOWN 30) 30 // 49 // Pitbull - Don't Stop The Party (feat. TJR) (DOWN 19) 33 // 69 // Lil Wayne feat. Drake & Future - Love Me (DOWN 36) 37 // 54 // Imagine Dragons - Radioactive (DOWN 17) 40 // 55 // Example - Perfect Replacement (DOWN 15) Obviously there are multiple versions clogging up the top end of the chart, but some of these drops are quite remarkable over little more than 48 hours. The BRITs have had a huge impact on the chart!
  8. I'm glad Taylor Swift is one of the highest charting BRIT live performances, I thought she was by far the best on the night. I've seen live versions of her before and she wasn't very good but I think she was really good on Wednesday. I think I'm the only one who doesn't really understand Ben Howard's success at the BRITs. I bought Every Kingdom ages ago but I found it really dull and dreary, and although Only Love is good it doesn't deserve top 5.

  10. I was trying to get these this morning, and just as they went on sale my mum and dad decided it would be a good idea to turn the electricity off because they're decorating. I have never been so annoyed in my life.
  11. Is there any reason why Explosions is so high? It seems to have exploded (I couldn't resist ) in the last day or so.
  12. No one seems to have much faith in Boomerang, but I think it may be surprising! She always did well on the singles chart and she's pretty big now after The X Factor. I'm predicting #1 providing nothing huge is released in the same week.
  13. I can't believe Phresh Out The Runway is so low, it's one of my favourites from Unapologetic! I didn't like it at first but it has grown on me a lot.
  14. So far I think there has been one interesting new release in 2013 (and that's White Noise). So far nothing has appealed to me whatsoever.
  15. What is her next single?
  16. I do agree with what others have said, I (and probably a few others) wouldn't have paid any attention to Diamonds if it was by anyone except Rihanna. I do like it, though it's far from her best (S&M).
  17. I think reducing songs is also a way to get more people onto iTunes. If someone sees that their favourite song is 59p they may go on to buy it, and buy another song or two at the same time.
  18. Dirty Love needs to be released next from Ke$Ha, it's the only worthwhile song on the album besides Die Young. It's such a step down from her immaculate debut.
  19. If 110% / If You're Never Gonna Move was played on Capital it would be T20 easily, possibly even T10. I really hope it can get T40 this week, it's currently at #56 with its highest version and Jessie Ware really deserves some success in the singles chart. Devotion is such a consistently great album.
  20. I'm not saying I agree with this mindset - Phresh Out The Runway and Jump are two of my favourites from Unapologetic - but I'm just being realistic. Right Now and Nobody's Business are almost certain for release because they're the most mainstream, not because they're the best songs. And re: LWT, that's just wishful thinking on my behalf. An extended version would be brilliant.
  21. Pour It Up's good, but I really don't think it will go T10. It's far too urban for the UK  Rihanna really needs to release Love Without Tragedy next, and give us an extended version! It's by far the best thing off Unapologetic, even with it only being 2 minutes long.
  22. I don't really think it's a far comparison between Disclosure and the others; White Noise was released on a Friday so it was obviously going to climb in its second week, whereas others were released earlier in the week so were bound to have lost momentum by the next week. By the end of this week Disclosure will probably begin to fall, although maybe not quite so steeply as Bowie.
  23. I don't think Emeli will make the top 5 this week, it won't be long before she settles back into the ~#8 position she was in before the DOI performance.
  24. I think it's time for an Emeli rate... Heaven >>> Next To Me > Read All About It, pt. III >> My Kind Of Love >> Daddy >>> Clown This era has been fantastic, from MKOL up all are personal favourites.
