It's just one of those irritants that just can't help themselves, and if he has seen the evidence, then he's making a prat of himself. I think most people know different. Annoying as it is. Seems Will has become a bench mark. :D and I think thats why he is being used (mentioned .. good or bad)

How odd Ros, :( probably something that PC World forgot to either give you or put into your laptop. Is the coding on the sticker on the underside of your laptop any good? Hello everyone :D Laptop is behaving :blink: but only since I stuck 4 rubber door stops on the bottom of my laptop :rofl: seems you were right Chris :lol: I've spent 3 days tearing my hair out, scanning and uninstalling and deleting stuff :rolleyes: and all it seems to be is the poxy fan :lol: That's what I thought Ros, but it seems as though all that was needed was a few 'legs' :lol: It looks hilarious. Ah well at least it's working :wacko: :lol: Looks like I've got a tad of catching up to do :dance: glad to be back :D

I'm here on a wing and a prayer again, laptop is still freezing, Barry asked me to back up and remove anything that I want to keep and he will take my laptop into work for one of the whizz kids to have a look at, think it's going to be wiped and hopefully they will install XP for me, I think a lot of the problems are to do with Vista and the Windows updates, it's a shame that they have to make rubbish operating systems that do not improve, rather they are inferior to their predecessor :wacko: Not sure how long I will be able to stay on here till it all freezes up again. I got rid of some programs that i dont really use yesterday, then tried to defrag, but even that froze :rolleyes: Just going for a very quick read and then try and get some pics and music and my favourites all backed up and saved. Will just say thanks for all the news incase I suddenly disapear again :lol:

Thanks Sunday and Gill :D After all that on the phone ive just restarted laptop again and it seems to be sorted, fan is making a noise again now, only have BJ open, so we shall see, drove me nuts on my phone took me about half an hour to make one post :wacko: :lol: hope now the net is back properly, I hope the freezing stops now too, but im not holding my breath. Just going to have a quick read to catch up quickly incase I dissapear again :lol: We do all seem to be having problems lately :( xx

Thanks Chris :) Ah yes that's probably what its doing, last night when I was reading the Guardian interview that Bev put up, I read the top bit, then I tried to scroll down and it was frozen, then it came back to life and shot down to the bottom of the article, then froze completely. :rolleyes: ... another reboot. and froze again, so I gave up. yeah everything in the systems tray by the clock is running in the background. I do have a few things in there :rolleyes: I did have a few things open initially but after it kept freezing I just had BJ open and it was still freezing. :lol: at bigger capasity hard drive with humungus fan. :lol: it's damned annoying isnt it Chris :lol: have you considered an external HDD, the only thing with them is that you can't access any software that you load on from a second computer, but if you want it for solely for your own laptop/pc they are great :D What a pain in the ass that you have to shut down everytime, that would get on me wick.

It drove me nuts last night, think i switched it off and rebooted about 10 times, finally went to bed about 2am with a headache :wacko: :lol:

Thanks Chris and Gill, Ive done a full systems scan, I did have some unwanted cookies but nothing serious. Think you are possibly right Chris, my fan has been making a bit of noise lately, especially when its doing a few tasks at once. When you say 'throttle down' would the laptop just freeze if it does that please? Mine isnt closing down completely but just can't do anything with it exept hold the 'on' button in till it eventually switches off, then when i reboot it comes up with the 'start Windows normally' option, I'm not sure how long i will be able to stay on, im not going to shut down till later, have some stuff to do in the garden this afternoon, hopefully i can get on later today. Fingers crossed. Thanks :D

Arrrrrrrgh, My laptop keeps freezing, I've had to switch it off six times and reboot. :angry: If I'm not around for a few days you will know why. hope it's just a glitch, but the way it's been behaving lately I somehow doubt it. :unsure: It's destined for a dunk in the fish pond :lol:
