The general reaction to this song is nowhere near as positive as it was for say, Call The Shots or Biology, both of which were far better. Plus, I don't believe physical singles count for much these days other than a few thousand copies which won't change the chart position much at all. It's how it performs on I Tunes that really counts. I don't hate Girls Aloud at all.. I just think this is their weakest comeback single yet, and along with Sugababes's Girls are two very disappointing returns for our two leading girl groups. The Saturdays's recent releases have really outdone both, in my humble opinion. Watch out ladies.. your crown is slipping.. B)

So what? Radio play doesn't always = quality. Why else would c**p like Basshunter end up on there. Either Girls Aloud have very good publicists, or because Cheryl is now a regular on the X factor it's given them more mainstream appeal. I go to quite a lot of music forums and apart from their official forum and Popjustice (where every member seems to jack off every time Nicole blows her nose) no-one is that overly impressed with the song. Just because they're set to perform on a popular TV show it doesn't mean the song is destined for No 1 if the public don't take to it. Anyway, we'll see next week. But let me just say in advance.. COME ON LEONA & RAZORLIGHT!! :P

I'm fed up with hearing about that Girl Aloud song!! It has a good thirty second opening, but then it goes absolutely nowhere and ends up being their weakest effort since 'Seize The Day' (If you ignore that awful cover of Walk This Way they did with the SB's.) Razorlight all the way for me.. :)

Why does everyone think Girls Aloud are dead certs for No 1 next week?! the song isn't THAT good, and X factor exposure doesn't always lead to success. Look what happened to Leon for instance..
  5. I hope your theory holds up when all the X Factor rejects murder Hero by Mariah at the end of October, but I fear it will be a total smash. I'm all for helping our soldiers, but couldn't we just give the services a sizable donation rather than resorting to noise pollution? Oh well *throws radio in lagoon*..

Judging by her latest video where she attacks a newlywed couple, smashes up a brand new guitar, has her hair set on fire, parades naked in front of loads of paparazzi and nearly kills a man by felling a tree on him.. something VERY strong indeed ;)

The fat transsexual* for No 1!! YAY!! *I don't mean Leon, just in case there's any confusion..

I saw that stupid Churchill insurance ad on TV about 20 times on the music channels today, but I don't see many people with stupid nodding toy dogs in the back of their cars :D Advertising is no guarantee of success, though I imagine that a lot of companies wish it was that easy..

That Pink song is one of the catchiest I've ever heard. It's the first track to EVER be downloaded by all my friends, so I'm not surprised it's doing so well. Long may it continue..

Yeah, at least 5k (which in 2008, would be a lot.)
  12. This song is so dull it would almost certainly be the worse number 1 of the year if it made it there if not for Basshunter. It would be a travesty if it knocked something as brilliant as 'So What' off the top spot. Next up is the 12 X factor finalist's rendition of 'Hero' for charidee, followed by this year's winner whose record which no doubt will be superb original track from the writers of 'All This Time'. Oh joy. Kill me now. Leon has a mediocre voice, no stage presence and some dodgy looks no amount of restyling will remedy. If he proves a success despite all that, it will prove that Simon Cowell has truly brainwashed the nation. And we are all DOOMED..

This is very odd. I hear the opening tune, and I'm thinking WOW I'm really going to like this song. But as I listen to the lyrics, and the monotonous melody goes on, I'm begin ning to say erm.. this is a bit sh**. innit? Perhaps I'll like it more on repeated listenings. I hope. It should make top 10 at least..
  18. No, it isn't. I can't see his album selling too well off the back of it, either. And (referring to your avatar) the Pussycat Doll's comeback is underwhelming to say the least. Maybe it would have been better if they'd exchanged 'groupies' for 'boobies'. Just my opinion, obviously. Horses for courses, and all that....
  19. Do you mean like James Morrison (who is A-listed with his latest dirge) appeals to the headbanger generation? Nah, it's a grudge plain and simple.. but it doesn't matter. Will is doing just fine without them, so who cares?
  20. I can't believe one man ( Mr Scott Mills ) can have so much power over the running of a station. So what if he ignored a few kids at a school gig, he was probably tired and wanted to get home to bed! Mr Mills resorted to name-calling in an interview.. how pathetic was that?! Anyway, who cares.. he's still No 2 in the airplay chart without their help, and probably doesn't give those idiots a moment's thought! Roll on the 29th Sep!! :yahoo:
  21. Couldn't agree more. Fantastic record from a brilliant artist. The fact that they A-list the likes of Sam Beeton (WHO?) and totally ignore Will Young completely discredits them as a station. Oh well, their loss :)

When I first came to this page and saw your message, I thought I'd gone to the Dido forum instead. Oh well, easy mistake to make..
  23. I agree with you. I'm not talking about chart position, though.. ;)

Weak first single. Probably around 15.
