    ^Dis man speaks da truth
  2. No it won't! Kate's physical isn't being sold in Woolies, and Rihanna had a lead of more than 5.5k on Friday. I think the gap will be further still come 7pm tomorrow, perhaps as much as 7k. Perhaps just wishful thinking on your part it's gonna be a contest?

If they were going to release it in this country they should retitle it to Goodbye Mr Blair :P
  4. In the US apparently it does... her last album debuted at No 2!! But that's what you get from a bunch of Paris Hilton worshipping Yanks, they love celebrities over there no matter how fake and superficial they are. Fortunately we Brits are far more cynical of the whole culture, so hopefully she'll take the hint after the inevitable booing on July 1st and bog off to there till she's 70 and all that ridiculous red hair falls out. It's Sheena Easton all over again... ;)
  5. Geri Halliwell's 'Passion' album was completely rubbish from start to finish, so saying there was a bad single choice from it is completely irrelevant as there was nothing of any value to be released from that c**p. Besides, no-one really likes her. As for Lemar, 'It's Not That Easy' is generally considered one of his best songs and it certainly sold the album, he is arguably the most successful British solo artist from a reality TV show after Mr Will Young. My choice for the topic would be: Will Young, 'Switch It On' ( I like the song but he should have gone with the ballad 'All Time Love' for the Christmas period. It cost him sales for 'Keep On' over December.) Daniel Bedingfield 'Nothing Hurts Like Love' (The single that virtually killed his career. A more drippy, irritating song you'd struggle to find, and it was a travesty that the much better 'The Way' missed the top 40 when this drivel made top 3.) His Sis 'I Wanna Have Your Babies' (No thank you luv, we DON'T want to know all about your biological clock. Add to this nonsensical lyrics " I see them springing up like daisies " indeed and one of the most nausatingly cute videos in living memory and you have a recipe for disaster. Can 'Soulmate' rescue the album??) And My Personal Favourite... I mean WORST: Gwen Stefani 'Wind It Up' (WTF was THAT all about? The person who chose this to kick things off on an album containing great songs like 'The Sweet Escape' and '4 In The Morning' should be hung, drawn and quartered. And if it was Ms Stefani, is she trying to sabotage her own career? Maybe she wants that No Doubt comeback more than we think...)

Does anyone here know what kind of a lead Rihanna has in the singles chart? Thanks...

    Enrique!
  9. Er no. I highly doubt that the follow up album from a million seller won't go at least top 10. Even if she is doing her best to alienate everyone around her...
  10. Hmm let's see... Loose Women, GMTV, BBC Radio 1 Preston Roadshow, Blue Peter... I think that's more than enough promo for one single. Search for the clips on Youtube if you don't believe me And I bet thanks to the success of 'Umbrella' and 'Good Girl Gone Bad' she'll be back pretty soon for a tour. See? You give a bit, you get a whole lot back. Ms Clarkson could learn a thing or two...
  11. Top 5 thanks to her fanbase. But I expect a Sophie Ellis Bextor style plummet next week. I hate it when artists get so complacent they stop promoting in the countries that give them the most success...

The dole queue judging by his midweek position

And can I ask to which part of my question does the pirate quote apply to?

[ Is Rihanna's lead at the top 1400-1500 or more?

    WHITEWASH
  16. Nope I completely agree with you. It sounds like one of those 'charming' creations a busker on the london underground would come up with during his lunchbreak. But because its one of the BEATLES playing it on a BANJO we're supposed to stand up and applaud his balls. Not this time, luv. Pass the cotton wool, I wish to plug my lugholes...
  17. Finally something we agree on!

(sigh) I meant my comment. As if I'd make you grovel. I'd sooner kill you first.. ;)
  19. Er... I actually said people forgot about HER, not vice versa. And as for so called 'success' she had one song that did well (These Words) one major hit (Unwritten) but her album didn't sell in any great numbers (reaching 26) and I doubt NB is going to be half as big over there as her record company would hope for. I would argue that Corinne Bailey Ray, Lily Allen and Ms Winehouse have all achieved greater things in the USA, and I think in years to come she'll be known as the sister of Daniel who did slightly better but ultimately still flopped. Time will tell...

    What? Interpreting sarcasm?
  21. Well if she turns it all around and makes it into a resounding success, fair play to her. On the other hand, I suspect that by neglecting her original fanbase and letting people forget about her over the course two years, she has lost a lot of the goodwill she had earned in 2005. Plus there was that AWFUL first single choice about 'Babies'. Another Bedingfield destined for the scrapheap methinks :)
  22. Releasing it this early is a mistake.. it'll sell reasonably well over a while, but by the time the physical release arrives people will be sick of it, and it'll scrape the top 30. Doubt it'll help the album much either. Teach her to spend so long in the United States...

Will it be on sale at Woolies? If so, then maybe she has a shot. If not, prepared to grovel in my presence as I am proved totally correct :)

HAHA! Optimists the lot of you. Top 70 at the most.
  25. Let's see how much Rihanna has sold this week before making judgement. Mead has actually sold less on downloads then I thought, so I'm hopeful Ms Brolly can ward the camp git off..
