It has barely sold half of 21's total, so I'd say it could sell a copy or two yet.
  2. I think the "who still doesn't own the Adele album?" comments started at about the 3m mark for 21, and have continued as it sells another 2m copies on top. Starting the same comments at only 2.68m copies for 25 seems a tad premature.
  3. No they don't. X has passed the 2.7m mark. 25 is yet to reach that.
  4. That's true, but some of those sales came *last* decade, as it was released in 2008
  5. WWWY starting to get high play counts on both radio 1 & 2 over the last week? Plus perhaps a Valentines day effect, although you would expect that to be more physicals
  6. ^^ "Hang on" to #1? They've increased their already very large lead (relative to current sales levels) since Monday, and there's only 2 days sales left. If they didn't sell a single copy until the end of the week they'd still be #1.
  7. Whether or not All I Ask is performed at the Brits in 6 weeks time, I'd say it'd do well to stay top 10 of iTunes for the next few days. If it does, it could be looking at a top 20 chart appearance next week, which would be incredible.
  8. Exactly. By Jan 2012 it had sold 3.8m, all its singles had been released, and it was selling less than 25 on a week to week basis. Yet it still sold almost 800k in 2012. So chances are 25 will easily pass 500k this year in my opinion.
  9. ^^Well, in the exact same sales week of 2012, Adele's 21 sold 23,831. Since then it has sold over a million further copies.
  10. It has to sell double its current total (2.5m+) to outsell 21 in the UK. It has to sell double its current total (15m+) to outsell 21 Worldwide. I think both are very unlikely. However, I do think it will end up as the 2nd biggest selling album of the millennium in the UK, behind 21. 3.7m is required for that.

So Adele is currently tied with Madonna, with 30 weeks spent at #1 in the UK album charts. If Adele stays at #1 this week, she will hold the record for the most weeks at #1 by a female artist.

Adele's BBC show was repeated on Friday, heavily featuring songs from, and talk about both 21 & 19
  13. ^^ It's still selling, but slowly. It's ~2.29m at the moment and has been overtaken by both Ed Sheeran and Michael Buble since the above list was compiled. However, since 19 was released in 2008, only 8 albums have sold more than it (and 2 of those are also Adele albums)
  14. I'd say very slim. In fact, I'd be surprised if it sells above 200k ever again. It's already sold 2.4m and we are entering January low sales. Imo if it can sell a few more weeks this year at 100k+, it'll be doing very well.
  15. Great, thanks!
  16. Another 2 more Adele weeks to add to this list

Well she's averaged 70k per day for the last 2 days. If she keeps that average over Wed and Thur (might increase), it'll sell 440k
  18. rundmck posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
She'd sold the same amount by Sun eve last week, before getting the Xfactor boost, and ended up with 377k. So it might not reach 400k. It all depends how much more physical CD present buying will be done this Mon-Thur compared to last

    You're welcome

111k in the last 2 days, if there's a slight increase in Wed/Thur sales over Mon/Tue, might hit 390k.
  21. Of course there are songs that can be singles. Radio 2 (the biggest radio influence on album sales) will be falling over themselves to playlist the next song XL decides is a single. Whether or not the song itself is successful in the singles chart when the album is approaching 3m sales in Feb is another question. That is not it's job though, it's job is to sell more albums. Don't forget 21 has sold nearly 5m albums and only had two top 10 singles.
  22. I would imagine she wanted to leave the first live performance of a "new" single until the Brits in February, to try to extend the life of the album. That way she can release a 3rd coming into Summer, and then get a 4th or 5th single on the radio in the run up to next Christmas, when she can perhaps do another tv performance to make the album a seller again. Plus Simon Cowell might have asked her pretty pretty please to perform Hello, so there's no risk of her shooting to #1 with a performance of a new song and stopping the xfactor winner getting it.

I've asked this before, but why would the NBC performance have any effect on album sales in the UK? It's not on any UK TV channels.
  24. So Adele gets another place in the top 20 this week. Anyone know the reason for the discrepancy between the OCC putting this week's total as 15th all time? Judging from this list I'd say it's 19th.
  25. I would imagine Hello is being performed with album longevity in mind. 2nd single can be performed at the Brits in Feb, a 3rd single during the Summer, and a 4th to make the album relevant next Christmas.
