Total single sales for individual artists
Here's an out of date list (2012) for total single sales. A few weeks ago the OCC gave Adele's total singles as ~7.8m. It would now be closer to 8.5m now, putting her in the top 20 singles artists of all time. 01 THE BEATLES 21.9m 02 ELVIS PRESLEY 21.6m 03 CLIFF RICHARD 21.5m 04 MADONNA 17.6m 05 MICHAEL JACKSON 15.3m 06 ELTON JOHN 14.8m 07 QUEEN 12.6m 08 ABBA 11.2m 09 DAVID BOWIE 10.6m 10 RIHANNA 10.4m 11 PAUL McCARTNEY 10.2m 12 KYLIE MINOGUE 10.1m 13 ROLLING STONES 9.9m 14 ROD STEWART 9.9m 15 TAKE THAT 8.9m 16 STEVIE WONDER 8.9m 17 OASIS 8.9m 18 EMINEM 8.6m 19 WHITNEY HOUSTON 8.4m 20 SPICE GIRLS 7.9m 21 GEORGE MICHAEL 7.8m 22 ROBBIE WILLIAMS 7.5m 23 BEE GEES 7.5m 24 U2 7.4m 25 SHAKIN' STEVENS 7.3m 26 BRITNEY SPEARS 7.2m 27 STATUS QUO 7.2m 28 LADY GAGA 7.2m 29 BOYZONE 7.0m 30 BLONDIE 7.0m 31 SLADE 6.9m 32 THE BLACK EYED PEAS 6.8m 33 BONEY M 6.8m 34 WESTLIFE 6.8m 35 CELINE DION 6.6m 36 BEYONCE 6.6m 37 UB40 6.6m 38 OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN 6.6m 39 MARIAH CAREY 6.6m 40 TOM JONES 6.3m 41 MADNESS 6.1m 42 THE POLICE 6.1m 43 WHAM! 5.9m 44 PHIL COLLINS 5.8m 45 DIANA ROSS 5.7m 46 THE JAM 5.7m 47 BRYAN ADAMS 5.6m 48 PET SHOP BOYS 5.6m 49 DAVID GUETTA 5.6m 50 ADAM ANT 5.5m 51 DURAN DURAN 5.4m 52 FRANK SINATRA 5.4m 53 FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD 5.3m 54 PRINCE 5.3m 55 KATY PERRY 5.2m 56 WET WET WET 5.1m 57 THE EVERLY BROTHERS 4.9m 58 THE SHADOWS 4.9m 59 PINK 4.9m 60 COLDPLAY 4.8m

Friday Chart Predictions (Thurs Update + Top 5 Sales)
Well in 3 days Coldplay's lead has gone from 56k, to 35k, to 1.5k, so at this stage on Monday, 25 is probably well in the lead again.

Friday Chart Predictions (Thurs Update + Top 5 Sales)
The Coldplay-Adele deficit was 56k after Friday, and 35k after Saturday. At that rate she'll be 10-20k behind after today, almost neck and neck after Monday, and back well in the lead by end of Tuesday.

Why would the NBC special have any effect on UK sales?

Friday Chart Predictions
First of all- congratulations to Adele, 1 million in 10 days is utterly phenomenal. She must have sold 60k/80k/60k or better this week. Secondly, here we have it- official evidence that the OCC/MW have been messing up their Be Here Now figures. At least this time they admitted it, and kudos to them, although in the end Adele beat the incorrect figure of 11 days anyway. It also categorically shows that the 933k-10 day total for Be Here Now that the OCC quoted in the same sentence as the 11 day million, is also wrong. And with them admitting they got these wrong, well.. I'll not get into the 813k- 7 day debacle again. Well done again to 25 for being fastest to 1m, fastest to 2m looks really achievable too.

Friday Chart Predictions
I thought my wording plus *mischievous face* and the smilie I used made it blatantly obvious, but evidently not! I was making a facetious point about some of the incongruous and over the top reactions in buzzjack threads about how the US was "comparatively" supporting Adele more. It should be evident to everyone that what Adele is doing sales-wise in the UK is incredible, nothing less, and has never been seen before.
-
Friday Chart Predictions
So Adele smashed the all time fastest selling album record in the US in just 4 days, but took a whole 6 days to smash the all time fastest selling album record in the UK?? I can't understand why the UK doesn't get behind its biggest artist and support her like the US does. *mischievous face* :teresa:

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 20th November 2015
My wife wanted his albums a couple of Christmases ago, so I bought her his most recent two. I have to say, we both really like them, they are full of such interesting mixes of songs and styles. We probably prefer the album "like drawing blood" (2006) over "Making mirrors" (2011) slightly, and she still sings "Hearts a mess" from it randomly from time to time :D "Thanks for your time" is a great track too, and "Easy way out" has an excellent video.

He didn't know Oasis had a shortened week until 2 days ago when someone told him on twitter. BHN first 7 days were 763,735 weren't they? That seems just about achievable

Friday Chart Predictions
There's lots of people who don't think Oasis deserve to have the one week sales record in the UK, or that Nsync deserve to have the one week sales record in the USA, or that Utada deserves to have the one week sales record, or that Bieber set singles sales records, or that Westlife had so many #1s, or blah blah blah I could go on forever. As for hype, every successful act in the world ever has sold music because of hype. The Beatles, Elvis, everyone. That's how the music industry works. As for critics.. there are critical reviews for every act ever. The fact is, the people who wanted that music mentioned above , bought it. Nobody forced them to, nobody tricked them. If someone wants an album, and then buys an album, that album sale is deserved.

Friday Chart Predictions
Exactly this. 21 and 25 actually have the same average score on metacritic. 21 ranges from 40/100 to 100/100 25 ranges from 50/100 to 100/100 All this serves to show is that all music is subjective. To some one artist is dull and boring, to others the same artist is exciting and memorising. Horses for courses. However if music forums like buzzjack didn't have people making objective statements about subjective matter, the posts would drop by about 80%, so carry on :D

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 20th November 2015
I'm referring to the totals with streaming included, MYFML is a million seller, and Hello may be by the end of the year. Skyfall, with streams, is heading towards 900k. However, I did say "in a few weeks" Adele will have 4 million sellers, not currently, so even if just talking about actual sales, the occurrence is not far away. MYFML is only ~40k from actual sales million, it is #51 on iTunes and the Adele BBC video featuring it is going viral, so it should sell well for the next few weeks. Hello is combined #1 on iTunes and should very sell into the new year. Skyfall has sold 820k+ actual downloads, is currently #22 on iTunes, and was discussed and performed on the BBC show last night. It will also sell 1m actual downloads, but will take a while.

Friday Chart Predictions
She will crack 3 million in just 10 days at "that rate" *over literal face* :P

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 20th November 2015
MYFML is a million seller and from the album 19. SLY & RITD million sellers from the album 21. Hello soon a million seller from the album 25. Skyfall heading towards 900k and selling well. In the next few weeks she will become the first solo artist EVER to have 4 million selling singles in the UK (excluding "featured" artists) and a 5th million seller not far away. So although she is , probably correctly, perceived as an album artist, she is actually a record breaking singles artist in the UK also.

Well it's 3rd best selling album of 2015 on Amazon already, ahead of Ed Sheeran

Happy vs. Blurred Lines
I wouldn't rule "Someone Like You" out of the equation just yet. At the moment, BL and SLY have sold exactly the same (to nearest 5k), and BL is ~70 on iTunes and dropping, whereas SLY is around ~130 on iTunes and constantly between 100-200. If Adele releases soon it'll get a boost too.

Biggest Selling Movie Songs of the 21st Century
Just a tiny adjustment.. Skyfall is on about 773,000 I believe, or 770,000 to the nearest 10k

Top 100 Best Selling Albums of the Decade
Gezza, brilliant rundown and I'm very appreciative. One little thing that frustrates is the wording of this quote I'm commonly seeing alongside Emeli Sande now.... "Spending a record 66 weeks consecutively in the top 10" The record for consecutive top 10 weeks is actually held by Adele, with 71. Sande's record is only for a debut album, which really is much less significant, but the word 'debut' is commonly dropped now which is sneaky. E.g. Biggest selling album ever: Everyone knows is Thriller Biggest selling debut album ever: No one ever asks!

Songs that will reach 1 million sales in 2014
I'd say Rolling in the deep is one of the closest of all the songs mentioned here. My estimates put it roughly 10k short of the million.
-
YTD T40 Singles/Albums (with estimated sales)
I would agree with this. I would say come mid-2014, Someone Like You will be selling more per week than Blurred Lines, esp if Adele brings out a new album and promotes herself etc. So it would seem there's a good chance of Someone Like You retaining the top decade of the decade spot even if it loses it in Q1 2014.

The UK's Biggest Selling Albums Of All Time?
The most recent update (rounded to nearest 100k  ) from the OCC was in May and is as follows 1. GREATEST HITS QUEEN 1981 5.9 MILLION 2 GOLD - GREATEST HITS ABBA 1992 5.1 MILLION 3 SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND BEATLES 1967 5.1 MILLION 4 21 ADELE 2011 4.6 MILLION 5 (WHAT'S THE STORY) MORNING GLORY? OASIS 1995 4.6 MILLION Adele is still a long way from "officially" overtaking Sgt Pepper, although there are plenty of in depth discussions by chart experts that can be found on Ukmix that would dispute the veracity of Pepper's figures. Anyway, to the OP- there is no constantly updated list as most of the albums are trickle selling to various degrees, we just have to make do with updates from the OCC when we can. Sande is not yet inside the top 50 selling albums ever, which may come as a surprise the way the media have constantly hyped her "debut album weeks in top 10" record.
-
When will Emeli Sande leave the UK top 10?
The record for consecutive top 10 weeks is held by Adele's 21, which had 71- that's 5 more than Sande, who just holds the record for a DEBUT album. However the way it has been reported in the press for weeks on end would make anyone think Sandé has the all time record for any album, which she doesn't. In fact I'm noticing some sites just dropping the "debut" part when referencing the record, such as digitalspy did today, which is just shoddy journalism.
-
When will Emeli Sande leave the UK top 10?
Looking at this consecutive top 10 weeks record purely from a charts/sales success point of view, it seems appropriate that the record is still held by Adele's "21"- An album that was STILL in the top 10 after selling over 4m copies and outselling nearly every other album in history, and has also had unprecedented worldwide chart success, and has only had minimal by comparison "first-hand" promotion with no price cuts or re-releases. As oppose to an album that is still well outside the top 50 biggest selling albums of all time, has sold less than half of 21 in the UK, and less than a sixth of it worldwide, and having relied on what most would say was massive "first-hand" promotion, and numerous "well-timed" price-cuts and re-releases.
