  1. It's great it's been so well received and that there's interest in hearing more about it. :D
  2. Episode 2 up, including a very good interview with John Grant. Really good listen. https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/homo-sa...1257514825?mt=2

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I could only watch on the red button but enjoyed it all too.
  4. It's been very well received. Will and Chris must be thrilled. :D

Yes it was great to see Will on this show both in the first heat and singing with the winning choir in the final whom he'd championed. The choice of Your Game / Love To Love You Baby was ideal too. They were clearly thrilled with his enthusiasm and ideas, I bet he loved being involved.
  6. It's a great listen, I really enjoyed the banter as well as the serious stuff. :cheer: Plenty of anecdotes from Will too,, and usually at his own expense.
  7. And TBH I might think your comments are complete bullshit too! 😂 But I really can't get my knickers in a twist over it. You go on believing what you want.
  8. There isn't any point. His name only came up as someone decided my comments should be ignored by an Olly stan as I was a Will fan. I hope he enjoys his backpacking - just as Will does. I agree with your comments about Olly. No one should kid themselves that he has some great natural talent. He's a pretty ordinary guy who has got (and complied with) an extraordinary push through the Cowell sausage machine, loads of investment, XF and BGT exposure yearly at peak selling time, opportunities second to none supporting bigger acts at home and abroad, radio airplay and promo that should have him selling Ed Sheeran quantities. Added to that he's made the most of the opportunities pushed his way, slogged his guts out, but he's in diminishing returns now as he gets older without a doubt. He's talking about other projects possibly because he realises that the general public need a break from him. If you never leave the stage you can sicken people by overexposure and I think that's where he's got to now.
  9. You misunderstand me I'm afraid. There are plenty of artists that you may not be a fan of (in terms of liking practically everything about them and following all they do) but you can recognise they are talented singers. Kelly Clarkson for me is one. She's an excellent singer and is always capable of singing a song you think is very very good. Thats about the singing. Olly Murs recognises himself he's not the greatest singer (far from it). He concentrates on entertainment value, catchy songs, energy, doing things to be "popular". It's clear that this approach has worked very well for him, but as I've said it takes a huge amount of effort and the signs are as he gets older, the same as most pop artists, interest naturally reduces. His sales are not what they were and his singles this time haven't done that well. Yes he has done loads of touring and lots of people go to see him for a good night out. When he releases his greatest hits (coming soon I reckon) no doubt it will do well as plenty of people will want a set of his ditties. He may have entered the industry in a similar way to Will and he may have done a lot of copying of Will in his time but they are so different people/ artists its pointless to compare them.
  10. Rubbish. I've never said he's not popular if you read back. I just question their taste!
  11. You're right, I am a Will fan. Will's in a different league to him though. I don't agree with you about Olly Murs being like Kelly Clarkson (comparing him to Take That and Kelly Clarkson is extremely flattering and more than he deserves) - she is a proper singer and that is always appreciated by people who like music, but Olly Murs isn't, he's at the karaoke end of entertainment for me.
  12. No need to be so defensive about him, of course they're different acts. Take That have been huge twice, though obviously dying down a lot now. Their big return was helped by pure nostalgia and a recipe of anthemic tunes. The fact is that he is getting older, he's having to work much much harder to keep things going and he can't work at that pace forever. If he takes as much as a year off I'll be amazed.
  13. There's no denying people will turn up to see him, it's carefree catchy pop, but surely you didn't think he's got the appeal of Take That in their heyday?!
  14. I agree. When he stacked up all the tour dates in the last year I suspected he was giving it one last enormous push to maximise earnings. It's been quite a struggle for all his singles from his last album, he's had to do a huge amount of promoting, never off the TV and the price reductions have kicked in pretty much as soon as they came out. Radio's been very kind to him considering the poor charting which hasn't matched the AirPlay. So I'd suspect he'd have an even harder time returning to pop with new music at 34/35 years old. But I still suspect there's a greatest hits coming along very soon.
  15. "Close to double platinum" - ?? 37 - 36 - 60,000 - 364,000 - Olly Murs - 24 Hours - 24/11/16 - 6

It's an appalling idea. Why does he have to get in on the act? If it's because he's a resident of the borough let him do something hands on to help and give some of his millions to help those lost everything. But no, he has to see it as a chance to promote his artists and stroke his ego as per usual.
  17. This is going to be an outrageous one I can tell. :D Complete change from his jazz sessions.

His wardrobe must be an interesting mix of designer, vintage and downright second hand  Great pictures.
  20. Yes, thanks, I'm aware of that but is he not touring there any more? I thought I saw someone months ago saying that he wasn't going to tour in Australia at all.
  21. Has he all but given up abroad now? He certainly saturated the market here following this album release with his tv appearances on everything going, and vast touring.

This sounds really interesting, it seems a long time since he's sung with an orchestra. I hope it's something Wills never sung before. :)

Done, but I don't like hard work like that.
  24. Thanks TT, he's a real chameleon. :D
