  12. One of the mods has admin rights so she's been contacted, hopefully she can do something - have no idea how long Phil is away - oh dear  By the way, nothing to report on the papers today apparently so that'll save me checking them all in the shop just in case

  16. Posted by CarolW on Devoted from August Attitude mag. There's a feature on the top 50 gay albums of all-time and some well known men have selected their gay album and commented on it WILL YOUNG: SINGER And he's chosen GRACE JONES Nightclubbing And this is what he says "Along with the likes of David Bowie and Annie Lennox, Grace Jones challenged what gender was and redefined what it was to be a sexual woman. Her look was daring, defying and aggressively masculine whilst being threateningly sexual. Nightclubbing is easily her best post-disco album. Recorded in the Bahamas with reggae legends Sly and Robbie, the beats that were created allowed her to offset her weird and wonderful vocal talent with challenging lyrics. On Walking In The Rain she speaks/sings 'Feeling like a woman, looking like a man' reinforcing her androgyne persona that was reflected and enhanced in the music. As well as confronting gender she was overtly sexual. 'Pull up to the bumper baby, Drive it in between' ....... she aint't talking about parallel parking ! In the end Nightclubbing is scarily queer, deep bass with dubby beats, sexually overt, empowering, challenging but also wildly vulnerable. Wholly gay and wholly identifiable. I thank you." And the magazine says Deep dub and scary sex from the warrior queen gender bender. Also accompanied by a small black and white photo of Will in a white vest . Writes a good article our boy don't he :)
  17. Hope you are sorted soon Suggy. My brother keeps nagging me to have mine for a week so he can give it a good overhaul but I can't bear to part with it!! Am off on holiday for a week (between concerts!) in September so maybe I'll let him have it then, as long as he promises to have it back and working for the day I get back B)

Have fun seeing Jool et al. I was just listening to BITW in the car - can't help but smile when you hear it can you. Fabulous performance. Shame so many missed it, I was just on my way up to bed when I heard Chris Evans say Will was coming on later - never sat back down so fast in all my life  Poor hubby was sleeping downstairs as he was getting up at 4.00 for a fishing trip, think he managed about two hours sleep by time Will had been on and I'd watched it back a couple of times - just as well he's the understanding sort :D

Agree TT, I usually give them a watch at least once out of politeness but this time I may not be in the bar so long :D
  20. "Why is it now possible to buy kids of around 8-9 yo skirts that are barely bigger than belts?" In my experience 8-9 year olds don't buy their own clothes so if that's what they are wearing put the blame for it where it belongs - their parents!
  21. Awwww, lovely to think of him happy and loved up

Nice to have you back Chrysalis, you've had gorgeous weather for the visit B) Had a bit of a drama today when we thought my daughter had gone into labour early at 31 weeks! Turned out to be a false alarm. She had me in hysterics though, the very young doctor was politely trying to ask her if she'd done anything that might of set it off. She simply didn't get what he was trying to say so in the end he had to ask her directly if she'd had "intercourse" last night!! She said "No, how about you?" As it happens he hadn't but he said it was still early so you never know! Honestly, I can't take her anywhere
