He does :) Yep Andrea is Andrea he does have a good voice but is terrible at knowing how to use it and I'm bored of him now. Haven't listened to Fleur's but sure she will bring a good performance.

I don't how old you are but I saw you posted about you teacher being out one day so still at school/college? I think Ben's demographic is similar to the Olly Murs one, he appeals to the man on the street, women of all ages and if you wanted to check out his twitter feed,there are loads of young girls who also like Stereo Kicks/ID saying he's hot and these type of comments. He also has a much better voice than Olly (imo) "Housewives" can be anything from mid-twenties to 60's! I think sometimes its forgotten that people above the age of 30 buy a lot of music too and all but one of the people I have talked to who range from 20- 50 (work colleagues/Friends) say they would buy Ben's record (given the right material) Also before all the hype of Fleur's uptown Funk performance, Ben was the favourite. I wouldn't be surprised if he was polling higher than her before the semi at least. As I said before Simon's pimping of Fleur may be in the knowledge that he is already onto a good thing with Ben and so needs to get Fleur into the final as he feels he can market her also.

Well hopefully nothing too serious for Mel B. I have to be honest though and say I won't miss her on the judging panel . Tulisa would be even worse though! This is interesting and obviously we don't know how true it is. Ben getting half of the votes last weekend and Fleur only 22%? I saw the contestants on ITV this morning and the confirmed they had duets but couldn't say who it was.

Bit surprised at Ben's song choice. But having gone back and watched his performance of MITM from earlier in the series it was pretty damn good and could be a crowd pleaser. Wonder if he will do it acapella again? Fleur is predictable I guess given the reaction last week but will it wow again doing the same thing so quickly? Maybe they will change it up a bit. Andrea well it doesn't really matter, whatever he sings its always the same and he will shout his way through it anyway.

Its just clear we have different tastes. I find it amazing you can say that Fleur has a better voice. But each to their own. Just get those ears checked ASAP :) Kidding :D Also I really doubt he wanted to sing IWALY or Hallelujah. I loved Mel and Cheryl's reaction to that first audition as he was singing, completely bowled over. I have no idea what's happened to Mel since.

Thank you I think :) Just my opinion. I've never said she's not a good performer, she is. I just think the praise is way over the top. Her strength is in the performance and not necessarily the singing (she can sing "ok") I disagree about performance skills of the other two though (well I agree about Andrea) Ben has a good stage presence and a certain charisma but I doubt he could dance as well in hot pants as Fleur. Although that could be interesting :lol:

Its interesting how two people can watch (or hear?) something and have such differing opinions. Have you watched Ben first audition? His voice is stunning. Its always the same in these shows though, they take the acts away from what they do best because of the theme weeks and you rarely get to see it again.

Yes having re-read it I could have worded it slightly better. I personally loved that performance and we all have different tastes including Mel but it felt like she couldn't have watched the performance because it was very stripped back in the beginning and gradually built up. He's not Ed Sheeran so he's not going to "talk it" like he does. It has felt like over the show she is trying to pigeon-hole him into just rock and even when he does a great performance (subjective) she brings that up. I think his first audition shows he's also go a great blues voice but he has never been allowed to show it. There are boos which happen every week but those boos were something else. I've never heard the other judges and Dermot drowned out for that long and that loudly. To me it felt negative for the sake of being negative, scripted or not. If you can bear to watch the clip again :) look at Simon's face while the booing is going on,he has an expression like "well that's told me what I needed to know" Just my interpretation of course.

I don't know that's why I said Simon NOT Andrea :lol: Maybe read the post again. Andrea as her contestant, Simon re the comments as reasons. She often looks embarrassed after some of her comments. You think the judges comments are not scripted? Poor Cheryl is always looking down at her piece of paper bless her. I loved the massive boos after the TOL performance. Her comments were so far off it was hilarious.

I've heard every Fleur performance too and Not really :) Any sign of a note of some degree and she struggles. I'm Every woman the backing track was louder than she was (same with AIWFC last weekend, not even sure that was live in parts) and once again it was all about the fun and performance element. If I ain't got you was bad, even Mel who praises her to high heaven said she struggled. I understand people like Fleur for her performance qualities and confidence on stage is a big plus but a good voice? No. Having said all that a good voice is not essential to be a pop star as we've seen over and over and she is quite marketable.

He has a much better voice than Fleur, Fleur is mostly smoke and Mirrors, huge performances to cover vocal weakness. They are very different which makes the final interesting (if they are the final two, where will Andrea's votes go?) Very similar to Olly Murs when he was on the show, massive production to cover his shortcomings.

I agree with you about Hallelujah and I will always Love you being bad choices and not his best performances but I think TOL was great and that week made him favourite (before Fleur with UF) I prefer his voice on it to Ed's. Mel clearly has a problem with him on Live shows (she adored him in auditions so it must be Andrea or Simon telling her to test the water) But I love his voice anyway at that level. The overall point is correct though, he can have terrible song choices and still be safe. If he gets songs that suit him this weekend, he could do it.

It does but things change very quickly. This is purely because of the hype over last weekend's performance, people will be backing her. However Ben was favorite up until that point and given the varied audience for the show, I still think he's in with a good chance. He appeals to the wider public more imo.One thing is for sure it is between the two of them. Cowell is clearly pushing Fleur but I don't think he is totally against Ben winning. It's kind of "Job done" with pushing her after last weekend, getting her that track and the reaction to the performance. She is signed regardless. I think they both will get deals.

7 million votes is deceiving too, a lot of people multiple vote and with the app you get 5 votes for free so you could have as little as 1 million people voting imo. I think the voting audience is quite mixed but there is a huge chunk of families watching as a "Saturday night in" so yes a lot of parents and older people too. This is the reason despite all the Fleur hype I still think Ben has a good shot at winning. He appeals to a wider demographic. The teenagers think he's gorgeous, young women too and the middle aged will also like him. I think the younger audience are more likely to vote for Fleur but not so much the older ones. I have a hunch last weekend was the first time she may have topped the vote too. Perfect timing but if she can't top that performance, she may have a let down and normal service could be resumed next week. Will be interesting.
