That's personal taste though. I like beautiful powerful voices but I also like Rihanna, Britney, Madonna none of whom are Pavarotti :) (Katy Perry is a shocking singer and trading purely on her image) I'm not a rock fan or a blues fan particularly but I see somethiing special in Ben's voice/tone. First contestant I've routed for in a long time. I get the whole you have to have the right image thing, it important but there are people that are marketable and can sing well too. I think Ben is one of those. I understand how the industry works but it just leaves a bit of a bad taste for me when I see the way they are trying to cover up her shortcomings as a vocalist and helping her purely because in my opinion they have plans for her after the show. At one point I thought she was miming last night (during AIWFC). I'm not 100% but if that's the case that is not on in a show like this. I agree with an earlier poster that how they are selling her is off putting. I have nothing against the girl she seems ok and can't blame her for taking the opportunity but I don't like that kind of thing. Maybe I should stay away from XF as I know how they manipulate and I still watch so it's all my own fault LOL

I said she was ok and they are covering her vocals not that she couldn't sing at all and I stand by that She is weak. Ben could do very well given the right material. He will probably make the final having one week the whole show that suited what he does best. He has never been allowed to sing like he did at auditions, which for me were his best performances. I get this is the show and you have to be versatile, so I'm not complaining. Having little potential is subjective too. Ben, could break the mould of male winners imo. He has a likability that other male winners didn't have and he is sellable to women from 15-60, the amount of female attention he gets is ridiculous and he has voice to back it up as well. . Not the same as crazy James Arthur and unlikable Matt Cardle, dull Leon (how did he even make live shows!) Joe had a great voice but wasn't exciting enough and Shayne, well they just messed that up, he did have appeal. I'm not saying Fleur cannot do well, I;m sure if Cowell gets behind her, puts her with the right producers, guests on her singles etc she will. I just think people are getting carried away. For me she is Alexandra light.

But Fleur can't sing like Alexandra so they are not the same. Alex has/had both. They aren't mutually exclusive.

Despite all the Fleur hype, this is till up for grabs. If Ben makes the final I think he has a wider demographic of voters than Fleur. It feels like what they did with Olly where he would have shocking vocal performances but all that is talked about is "performance" and we know what happened after that year's show. Olly promoted to death. This feels similar. I think Fleur is ok but she is not what everyone is making her out to be. I can't be the only one who notices that the backing track is louder than she is. Not everyone will be fooled. I think its 50/50 between her and Ben IF they are the final 2 (providing Ben isn't given awful songs and an awful duet which is entirely possible to help her) She is sellable but cmon saying she is a good "singer" is a huge stretch (and yes I know you don't have to be a good singer to be successful etc)

I've listened to Alex's version of Hallelujah on repeat so many times it felt weird Ben singing it! Their voices are so different. But Hey Ben's voice is fantastic and he has to be in the final. 5 votes for Ben.

Cmon Fleur is nothing compared to Alexandra. Alexandra is a different league vocally.

I think there is a lot of people who would want to latch onto something :P Its a matter of taste I think he is charismatic and getting better at performing by the minute. He has just the right amount of confidence but comes across as "normal"
