  1. I detest most Christmas songs (although I like a lot of carols). My fav probably an unpopular choice around here is Alexandra Burke's Hallelujah. I just adore it. I guess it's not officially about Christmas but always reminds me of it.
  2. I adore Behind These Hazel Eyes too. Bit surprised she sang Breakaway tonight. Whatever she sang though still a million times better than this years excuse for contestants.
  3. Well done. We cant have people defending that kind of thing :D
  4. Just when I was warming to The Biebs (really liked his last two singles) he has Nicki Minaj on his single :puke2:

Oh Good Lord, No. If ever a person was representative of how dumbed-down society has become it's her. I never say this but I hope this flops and I'm sure it will.
  6. 100%? Nice that you think you know him so well :) I think (not know) Joe feels this way because that the impression he gives by loads of little things that he does. Anyway any promotion is good all I am questioning is the focus as its clear he doesn't have many fans up there. He was very lucky to get a second chance after the Syco debacle. Let's hope this doesn't go down the same path.
  7. This is far too similar to WMYB and One thing (which I liked) So much so that I heard the Intro and asked the kids to turn it up coz I thought it was one of those songs! It is early in their career but they still need to make the good pop songs in order to sell outside their fan base which will wane pretty quickly.
  8. Yep he has an album to promote :) He's on Radio London tonight 10pm :) Album launch tomorrow and Wright Stuff in the morning.
  9. Good post. I can understand he wants to be near home, it's interesting you say the general attitude is positive but if its not translating into record sales then surely the bottom line is at some point he needs to rethink as that is his living. It's a business. Up to him of course but not an attitude that's going to get him where I think his talent should be. For example I heard from people at both signings he had last week and although there were quite a few people there a lot of them didn't buy the album they just wanted a picture!! Hardly a good use of his time. The chart position was ok but 25k behind his first week sales of his first 3 albums? For me that's a bit worrying. I don't see any problem with him promoting himself there but he needs to take notice of the rest of the country more (his Radio tour has mainly been in the North of the country for example) and stop thinking his audience is primarily there. I spoke to his manager who said approximately 20% of his sales were in the north of England (not just the NE) which means 80% are spread through other regions. Every time he is on national TV he albums sales go immediately up. It's just a bit frustrating as I know if more people saw him, he'd be more popular. Maybe he feels his main support is there because like you say people are kind about him but in the end kindness and pictures won't help his career.
  10. I didn't say he had no support I said he's deluded about the amount of it. I went to a gig at the sage last year, the venue held 1300 or so and was only 2/3 if that fulll and most of the people had travelled. The top section was closed off as it hadn't sold. You make a good point about the massive coverage he gets up there, the TV news the Radio, the Gazette supporting him, yet even with all that and 2 signings last week his album sold a total of 10k countrywide! So I'm guessing (and of course I can only guess he sold a couple of thousand up there at best). I don't care if he's promoted there but some fans including me have been telling Joe for ages that focusing so much on his home town is making the rest of the country forget him. It's a widely held opinion. I have friends in London who when I mention him say they liked him but didn't even know he'd had a second album. The tweets on Twitter so many saying "Where is he" etc. You must have seen them! The strategy is misguided in my view. May I remind you that, all the nonsense about his local support he got dropped. Where were these people then? I guess after the hype has died down they wern't bothered. Even if the support is stronger (which I doubt) its certainly not enough to base most of what he does there. He needs to be more ambitious than wanting to be a local celebrity! His hard core fans travel to see him there because he likes performing there. Those venues would not be sold without them and even today you could still buy tickets for his launch tomorrow. This venue holds just 1000 ppl. Also even if the newcastle date sold out last year (a lot of fans travelled as I said) its not exactly a big venue is it? A strategy based around 2000 fans if that? He needs to think about what he's doing if its not too late already.
  11. I hope so too, but fans have been telling him that NE support he keeps going on about isn't there for ages. His fan base travels because he does everything there. Hopefully this will give him a jolt as he's been all over local TV, Radio and newspapers and given the figures probably sold about 2k there! And he had 2 signings..
  12. The 3 Top 10 albums is good but the sales are not. He needs to start promoting himself outside his own front door. He doesn't even have many fans there as these sales show.
  13. So 28k in 24 hours for Gerry and the Pacemakers. Pretty impressive http://t.co/TY8hC5sw

I agree Britney has a certain something despite what I said about her singing. Some people just do.

I did. Remember you sent me some links? It was just average for me.

    I absolutely love The Circus!

Mmmm I voted for Britney in this purely because through the years for me she has made many more songs and videos that I have liked. But let's be honest both are successful more because of their image than any big talent that they have. Frankly the Kylie fans making her into some kind of ultra talented superstar is laughable. People care more about her backside than her singing, which is completely average. And before anyone starts I don't think Britney can sing either. My point is they are both very similar talent wise for me.
  18. How lovely to wake up and see You'll Never Walk Alone #1!
  19. There is something so moving about it, very emotional. #2 now Cmon #1 please.
  20. Yes indeed as a Liverpool fan myself I have always loved this song & given the circumstances, I would love to see it #1 on Itunes even if it was for a few hours. Sad times this week.
  21. Joe up a place to #8 in the midweeks. He seems to buck all the other trends of being frontloaded! Hoping he can gain another place or so by Sunday.

    Britney by a mile..
  23. I think "To have a Broken Heart" is my favorite right now, but I need to listen again as I haven't had time to listen more than once :)
  24. Just seen that their is only 2k or so between him at #9 and the Pet Shop Boys at #4, so I'm hoping its not impossible for him to climb into the Top 5.
  25. Yes I thought he would be higher tbh. I'm surprised there has been no promo this week either. I have a feeling he may climb towards the end of the week but we will see I guess.
