iTunes Chart: December 2011 (Part III)
Maybe Detox will be released next year... however I'm pretty sure that it will be released on the day of my funeral.

Wishful thinking for a Labrinth number one, finally? Yeah. I thought Lloyd would do it but he's severely down, so it looks like Coldplay, maybe Flo Rida or even You Da One later on in the months coming up. Who knows, 'Troublemaker' by Taio, which ordinarily would IMO be low top 10 at best, could even get to number one.

If someone released a song for 59p in January it would get to number one with ease. Coldplay should get a week. Lloyd maybe as well.

Ah, the 2000 christmas number one battle. Of course, forgetting B.T.B. and Westlife, it would have been amazing if snatched the top spot. Ended up number 3 for a couple weeks. Somehow got to number one, which when you remember how big the MMLP was is quite something, even in the days before downloads.

PLEASE don't beat Coldplay. Hearing Coldplay #1 on the big top 40 will be SOMETHING incredible, even if they can't get it on the official chart.

First Number One of 2012
Don't underestimate Taio - It's literally the only new release with the potential to sell well, so it might get number one with 35k or something.

What makes a song get deleted though? Is it a record company dispute, or just an accident, or what?

That's what I mean. With the way music is heading now, it's unlikely we'll ever see a band like Coldplay at number one on the SINGLES chart again.

Hopefully Mylo Xyloto can grab another week at number one too. Coldplay for #1 next week? Why not.

Sorry, I don't think anyone else fully appreciates this. Coldplay are number 1 with a single that doesn't feature Rihanna, was released around 3 months ago, and has sold pretty strongly since, AND it's after album by over a month. Might wanna make a print screen folks, this is probably the last time you'll see Coldplay at number one on itunes. I'm gonna listen to the big top 40 show, at any rate.

Dedication to my ex is absolute brilliance - Hope it can somehow get to number one.

Any chance of Coldplay going top 3 if they perform Paradise?

X factor back to number one???

When you realise that the Wretch 32 song 'Don't Go' is about his love for music rather than a woman, it becomes 100 times better.

Is Emeli Sande released next week? Think she might have a chance at finally snatching number one from Rihanna? 'Daddy' is an incredible song. She might get an x factor slot soon, no?

Might be getting August mixed up with October there Bré!

Also, they have far too much indie support. Do you know what they should do instead of it. Play more songs that a few years ago people played on Capital. Hits from the 2000s, you know? And less talk. Why don't radio 1 drop most of the talking? Most kids are so commercialised, they'd probably rather listen to the latest advert for Bieber tickets than hear Chris Moyles talk about Sausages. Besides, Chris Moyles himself is 37. I don't think that he's really a youthful presenter that could connect with the kids anyway.

The Guardian's verdict on 2011's music trends
You know what's really annoyed me this year? More than anything? Overplaying. I know this happens every year, but not as much as this, trust me. "Now let's have Adele's new one, Set fire to the Rain" <<< Said by a Capital FM DJ in late october. And then there's bieber. I went to a bowling alley a week ago, and I saw two fairly old women put 10 bieber tracks on, one after the other. (This gets played on loudspeakers and the video is played in the middle of the bowling info screens). So I spent a fiver on Eminem to get back at them. Also: Someone like you and '21' are still getting good downloads. You just have to wonder how badly connected people are in 2011 to not have heard these, I'm just saying. And like Bré said, Dubstep never blew up. I remember just before Louder was released, everyone was saying that it would be a 6 week number one, etc. It got huge sales, but never fufilled it's great potential. It was kind of like the 'Someone like You' of dubstep, even the people that didn't listen to the genre were downloading it.

DSTP was 'released' a while after Just Can't Get Enough, whereas Game Over was 'released' a week after his album was. It was only regarded as a single because it charted highly on cherrypicks.

Agreed. Tinchy Stryder's unpopularity at the time (Seriously, he had two flops in comparison to what he had with the previous album) stopped it from going higher. It also didn't help that on the charts it was listed as "Tinchy Stryder featuring Chipmunk". And Chipmunk totally destroyed the song (in a bad way). His verse didn't fit with any of the song, similar to Hitman on the single version of Forgot about Dre

The reason, I believe, artists like Cher Lloyd get this kind of hate is because they're manufactured by the show. Then again, for example, another x factor 'loser' Olly Murs has established himself pretty well. I think she made the wrong decision with releasing 'Swagger Jagger', awful song IMO simply because of the low lyrical value and the similarity to the christmas carol 'Little Donkey'. 'With ur Love' is a lot better. However, no offence, but like many artists in a similar position to her, expect her to be totally forgotten by the start of album 2. A lot of users on these websites have registered names with Joe Mcelddery and Diana Vickers in them, and regret it now. If she wants any longetivity, she needs to do more rapping. The UK needs a female rapper, not another pop singer.
