I'd say Hacksaw Ridge and Mad Max would have won under the old rules.

Under old ballot it would have been 3 Billboards all the way, this new system awards movies like spotlight and this. And even Moonlight wasn't all that.

Like I said to begin with, 3 Billboards scandal destroyed its chances. At least this was better winner than Spotlight but that was easy to beat.

Get Out was worthy winner but now that means it is TSOW for best picture. Call Me By Your Name, fantastic for Ivery. Predictable but never sure until...well until there are no mistakes.

I get this win for the Phantom Thread but best director, the whole movie was miserable and certainly did not deserve that.

If James Ivory looses adapted screenplay then these Oscars are a bust.

Too bad everything is so predictable this year. Except for best picture and I will probably run out of beer by that time. And that not-so-good film most likely will win it anyways and not 3 Billboards.
