  1. Of course I like the album - Im not more of a fan of the sales than the artist - that is a stupid remark for you to make. Ive liked Rob for the last 16 yrs Of course he has enjoyed making the album - and I have enjoyed listening to every minute of it and if you had bothered to read any of the previous posts I left about the album you would have read that! I would like to see the album receive better promtion so a wider audience can appreciate what Im listening too - which is Rudebox - a great album. and Im sure Rob wants it to to be heard by as wide an audience as possible too. Dont make pissy remarks - its annoying and takes away from the real debate at hand!
  2. Take an artist like Madonna - some of her albums like Ray Of Light and American Life sold in the region of 155k Now she would be considered a big act but neither of those 2 albums sold a hefty amount - neither were promoted that much by her record label when compared with Confessions On a Dancefloor which has been a much bigger success for her in the UK. It just goes to show that even the top acts like Robbie Williams and Madonna need to constantly promote their work and not take anything for granted. Lets wait though for official sales figures for Rudebox - dont take as gospel what you read on other sites - they can often be mis-informed about chart trivia
  3. Well he is gone platinum in Oz with Rudebox in the first wk and has a total of 5 of his albums in the Australian Charts at the moment!
  4. Personally I loved Rudebox and thought it was a good way to launch an alternative sound but it wasnt to some people's taste that prefer a more mainstream pop sound from Robbie but its good that he decided not to conform and do something different and Im still convinced that it will be high up on the xmas charts.... Another point is that with the track Rudebox not being as widely received as one would have liked...and subsequent bad (unfair) press it got ....I think the fact (although this again illustrates how stupid some folk are..!) that the album sold under the same name hasnt helped it..silly but true For some people who dont bother to find out...once they heard its rap or its dance or its this or that...that made up their minds for them..I read somewhere that someone said they didnt want "Robot Robbie" hence the electro sound but hopefully once the word spreads around about what a fantastic album this is...peeps will change their minds. Its still number one though - may sell more next wk..sometimes happens when there is a buzz about something Records - singles and albums can often sell at fast and slow rates but still shift millions of units!
  5. Lower sales for the album may have something to do with the fact that he's been away from the UK for so long - England being left till near the end of the tour Its ridiculous that some people would not buy the album because of that but that's how fickle some people can be...but I will imagine that it will continue to sell right up to xmas...it definetly needs more promotion in the UK though even if Rob's not to be there himself I dont think that EMI are promoting the record enough on his own turf and his English audience feel a bit left behind......
  6. Dont think them figures are accurate -- check yahoo chart commentary?
  7. I heard its more on the radio but not sure what
  8. Some people just have different musical tastes and you cant please all of the people all of the time therefore Rudebox charting at number 2 in Ireland shows that a lot of people have been willing to the electro/dance sound a listen and have obviously liked it! The album may well rise in next wks chart!
  9. Yep he's number 2 with Rudebox in Ireland - nothing wrong with that! Will probably be at the top next wk - our chart is more slow moving than the UK chart!
  10. Rudebox has entered the Irish Album Charts at Number 2 - hopefully it will take the Top Spot next wk :yahoo:
  11. Well I think that for originality Rudebox is excellent - brilliant in the clubs - everyone would be up on the floor.!
  12. I see that Phil Eisler makes a return to play acoustic & electric guitars on Viva Life On Mars!
  13. Never Touch That Switch - Its edgy, street, raw, cool and very futuristic - its Rob in 2085! ;)
  14. I would not say that Never Touch This Switch is a bad song at all - I think its fab. Best songs (although this is a tough choice) are The Actor & Rudebox , She's Madonna coming a very close third Out of the covers - best 3 are "Were The Pet Shop Boys & Kiss Me & Lovelight I love all the rest too so as I said its a difficult one!
  15. Would like to see She's Madonna but it will be something else
  16. LizzieSarah posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
400k plus - bet your bottom dollar !
  17. Thats bc the Irish Sea is extremely rough - makes the crossing awful
  18. Best 3 original compositions are The Actor and She's Madonna and Rudebox. Coming in at a close third for originality are Burslem Normals, 4th - The 80's and 5th - Never Touch That Switch Best Covers are Louise, Lovelight and We're The Pet Shop Boys
  19. Still dont understand some people's dislike of Rudebox. I think it was a perfect track to launch a new sound. Its got a dark funky baseline and is huge in the clubs - its a very arty sophisticated track - check out the Soul Mekanik Extended Vocal version. Brilliant. Although I liked tracks such as Strong, Millenium and Rock DJ - I think Rudebox overall is far superior and when listened to in conjunction with the entire album its a perfect opener!
  20. Burslem Normals - very Twin Peaks Fantastic Melody!
  21. V.Bowie - esque - the voice. Great vocal range has Rob
  22. Think it will outsell Intensive Care bc it will be picked up by peeps all over the place outside the fanbase V.smart move this album!
