iTunes Weekly Thread w/c 7th June 2015
I'm confused as to whether Hurts new track Some Kind of Heaven has been released or whether it's officially 31st July as that's the date I'd heard? Really hoping they'll get a hit this time as it's such a catchy radio friendly song.

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
I just don't understand the way they only seem to promote the first single. It doesn't make sense. They haven't made a video as far as I can see and fans have been asking on Twitter where the video is. It's not just Take That's record company who don't seem to have a clue though. I've noticed people on here saying the same about other bands/singers. I really like another Manchester based band called Hurts, but the UK arm of their record company just don't seem to have a clue how to promote them so they do well on the continent, but hardly anyone has even heard of them here.

Take That - Live 2015 Tour
I thought I'd share my experience of the tour from Friday 5 June. I know I don't post much - I'm a lurker who reads, but doesn't post much. lol I thought the show itself was absolutely brilliant. Considering it was in a smaller venue it didn't feel that they'd cut corners. I did feel that the intro was a little too long, though interesting as you tried to work out what was happening lol I loved the songs that they'd chosen, though I probably would have chosen a different Howard song such as What is Love or Beautiful World as I've never been keen on Affirmation. I liked Portrait more when they sang it in the car, but again there are songs I would have preferred to hear, but I guess they were showcasing their new stuff. The idea of the car was inspired though and I wonder how they managed to come up with all the clever ideas and actually pull them off. Being a Jay fan I did miss him, especially at times such as The Garden where I think Gary sang his line. I also missed his random little dances that he used to do when he was almost in a little world of his own. I didn't feel that the show lacked Robbie because to be honest I'm not keen on him and I felt that without him it didn't feel like they were having to compete with his ego. I also felt that Howard especially did really well singing Robbie's lines in The Flood. Would I go again? Definitely, in a heartbeat and though the ticket cost was more expensive than Progress it was worth every penny. It was better than Progress in my opinion, because it felt less disjointed and on a par with The Circus.

To be honest I don't like Higher than Higher very much. I guess it's subjective. I think Into the Wild or Freeze would have been better personally.

New Release Schedule: Monday 25 May
I take it this is a different single to the one called Some Kind of Heaven which is also released soon? Oops disregard that. I've just realised you weren't referring to the band called Hurts lol

Hurts - "Some Kind of Heaven"
I reckon Hurts would do really well at Eurovision. I love this new song and think it's very summery and catchy. My husband walked behind me whilst I was listening to it though and said 'sounds a bit like Take That though, doesn't it?' <_<

I agree! Why bother to keep coming on here to post if you just want to belittle every achievement and diss them at every opportunity? <_<

I'll second that Jay. Incidentally re Aphrodite's post where she mentioned The Vamps. I bought my daughter their album for Christmas and what a good, catchy album it was.

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
I think Gary posted on Twitter just before Christmas that they'd shot the video for Get Ready for it - my Twitter isn't working this morning for me to double check exactly what he said. Also, I think it was mentioned somewhere that they're at The National TV awards on 21 January, so hopefully they'll perform their new song on there. There's nothing on the site, but I'm sure I did read something about it.

I don't get why you need to come on here and belittle Take That's success either. We all know that worldwide Robbie is more successful than Take That, but this is a Take That forum. You wouldn't like it if we went on the Robbie forum to have a pop at him and his ego. And BTW, I know none of Take That are perfect either. You can't take away the fact that they've had a very successful and long career - a career that many artists would kill to have. They've also won awards, but of course they wouldn't have as many as Robbie due to not being so successful worldwide. And I'm sorry but the Brits are a joke anyway. Everyone knows that The Brits takes itself much too seriously. They're hardly the calibre of the Ivor Novellos and are mostly voted for by a load of musical big-wigs who are so up their own arses that they only vote for what they see as "cool". They like Rob but not Take That very much, which was noticeable when they won awards the year that Rob came back and the only awards they won when he wasn't around were the music audience voted ones. Now, can we please get back on topic on 111, not how great Rob is compared to Take That? :P

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
Well said!! I agree with everything you say. I watched a couple of songs online of the concert and they seemed really at ease and the new stuff sounded great. The Garden is one of my favourites, but being a Jay fan I do miss seeing him there. I wonder whether he'll be back for the 25th anniversary, though judging by the tone of his resignation letter I can't see it happening.

I thought their performance on Graham Norton was much better than X Factor. At least they sounded like they sung the whole thing live too.

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 23rd November 2014
Yes, if you pre-ordered it on Amazon or their official store you got a pre-sale code. Knowing that some hardcore fans attend dozens of gigs they probably pre-ordered loads of times and using different sites/email addresses you could get numerous chances if you had loads of email accounts. I ordered the Deluxe signed version and then the standard one for my parents and ended up with two - though I'm only going once.

Yeah, I really liked that on first listen too. Anyone got a link to the one mentioned call Let in the Sun?

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
The single's already doing amazingly well considering it only came out at midnight. They were way ahead of McBusted who also released at the same time. I hope they get the number 1 they deserve.

Thanks for that info. I like Graham Norton anyway. I hope he interviews them rather than just have them on at the end and not really speak to them.

Take That - Live 2015 Tour
That's the same block I'm in the night before. I'd love to know just how many pre-sale tix there were as quite a lot still didn't get them and then there were others who I heard got 3 or 4 dates. I don't think its's particularly fair about people going that many times, which meant others didn't get any. I had 2 codes as I bought one for myself and one for my parents and I gave it away only to find the girl reply that she was going numerous times. I was pretty annoyed someone else didn't get it to be honest.

Take That - Live 2015 Tour
I managed to get tickets for 5th June and then realised that it's not exactly a great date to have booked - my daughter is on a week long school trip and gets back late that afternoon so I won't be able to pick her up and then I'm working the next 2 days. Will have to sweet-talk the boss and ask to take a day's holiday the next day if possible, though a work colleague is going to see them the next day so I can't see that happening  We paid £94 each for level 1 at the O2. I paid £55 and £65 on the 2 previous occasions. I don't know if that's the same for all venues or just that the O2 is pricey anyway. I noticed there was a huge £8.50 booking fee on there.

Motion • Fourth Album
I posted a link to it I think on the previous page I think. Ecstasy is basically a Hurts sounding record to my ears and not one of their best. If I didn't know it was a collaboration I wouldn't even know Calvin was involved. :D It certainly sounds nothing like Under Control.
-
Motion • Fourth Album
Yes, I agree. It's a typical Hurts track. It's really great how Calvin really seems to be trying to get their name recognised over here as they are on the continent.

Motion • Fourth Album
This seems to be the new song with Hurts. Just click on the top right where his album is and it'll take you to it. Theo's vocals are gorgeous, but to me it sounds like a Hurts track rather than Calvin Harris. http://severino4ka.tumblr.com/post/101162346959

New Album 'III', lead single 'These Days'
I must admit I like the new single. I noticed the signed box set of the album has already sold out of pre-orders. The signs for it selling well look good.

Gary Barlow on Front Page of The Times!
Well, I wasn't going to comment on his looks, but now you mention it Kath yes, he is drop dead gorgeous when he scrubs up. I wouldn't say no! I do wonder if he probably pointed out that it wasn't the wisest of investments and no-one listened. I get the feeling sometimes they don't listen to him when he says things, poor bloke. Just the way he was spoken to in that Look Back, Don't stare film. Maybe they'd be best to run more past him in the future. ;)
