The sad thing is that Hurts have offered to do it in the past. They also showed an email on Twitter asking them to possibly do it. Instead, they opted for Englebert Humperdinck. Hurts are well known on the continent and I'm sure would do very well. They've actually hinted too that they'd write for the Russian entry as the British don't seem to want them.
  2. I don't get it either, but I'm guessing that was the idea. Do you reckon it will actually end up as a hit now that there's a video? Such a shame if it doesn't as the video looks pretty expensive and it's their most radio-friendly song I think.
  3. What's 6/10? I'm a bit confused  Just been to their gig at Scala in London and some kind of heaven sounded great with the gospel choir in the background. Their new stuff seemed to be well received and there was one up tempo number I could imagine doing really well in the club's if radio gets behind it. They were brilliant tonight and I really hope this new album gets them the recognition they've worked so hard to achieve.
  4. I'll definitely be pre-ordering that!
  5. On Graham ' s radio show I'm assuming? Would have loved them to appear on his TV show. You never know maybe radio 2 Steve. They play listed Blind so I guess it's possible, but I'm not holding my breath lol
  6. Thanks. I'm guessing then that unless there's some kind of miracle they're not going to have a hit. :(
  7. I'm confused as to whether Hurts new track Some Kind of Heaven has been released or whether it's officially 31st July as that's the date I'd heard? Really hoping they'll get a hit this time as it's such a catchy radio friendly song.

Oh, great. Really want them to have a hit of their own without Calvin Harris

Thanks. Though they haven't been playlisted on there either yet. I know people talk about an impact date, but I'm not sure what that means lol I'm assuming it means that a record is available to download now, but is actually officially released at a later date? So I'm wondering whether it won't be playlisted until next month as the date 31 July was mentioned.

I'm wondering whether they're going to playlist the new Hurts song - some kind of Heaven. Its' their most radio friendly song and so catchy. Is it because the original release date was 31 July? I'm confused as to whether it still is or if it's been released already. Radio 1 just don't seem to ever playlist them.

I completely agree and probably their most radio friendly song to date. I'm actually confused as to whether it's already been released or whether it's 31 July. Anyone know?
  12. I just don't understand the way they only seem to promote the first single. It doesn't make sense. They haven't made a video as far as I can see and fans have been asking on Twitter where the video is. It's not just Take That's record company who don't seem to have a clue though. I've noticed people on here saying the same about other bands/singers. I really like another Manchester based band called Hurts, but the UK arm of their record company just don't seem to have a clue how to promote them so they do well on the continent, but hardly anyone has even heard of them here.
  13. I thought I'd share my experience of the tour from Friday 5 June. I know I don't post much - I'm a lurker who reads, but doesn't post much. lol I thought the show itself was absolutely brilliant. Considering it was in a smaller venue it didn't feel that they'd cut corners. I did feel that the intro was a little too long, though interesting as you tried to work out what was happening lol I loved the songs that they'd chosen, though I probably would have chosen a different Howard song such as What is Love or Beautiful World as I've never been keen on Affirmation. I liked Portrait more when they sang it in the car, but again there are songs I would have preferred to hear, but I guess they were showcasing their new stuff. The idea of the car was inspired though and I wonder how they managed to come up with all the clever ideas and actually pull them off. Being a Jay fan I did miss him, especially at times such as The Garden where I think Gary sang his line. I also missed his random little dances that he used to do when he was almost in a little world of his own. I didn't feel that the show lacked Robbie because to be honest I'm not keen on him and I felt that without him it didn't feel like they were having to compete with his ego. I also felt that Howard especially did really well singing Robbie's lines in The Flood. Would I go again? Definitely, in a heartbeat and though the ticket cost was more expensive than Progress it was worth every penny. It was better than Progress in my opinion, because it felt less disjointed and on a par with The Circus.
  14. To be honest I don't like Higher than Higher very much. I guess it's subjective. I think Into the Wild or Freeze would have been better personally.
  15. I take it this is a different single to the one called Some Kind of Heaven which is also released soon? Oops disregard that. I've just realised you weren't referring to the band called Hurts lol
  16. I reckon Hurts would do really well at Eurovision. I love this new song and think it's very summery and catchy. My husband walked behind me whilst I was listening to it though and said 'sounds a bit like Take That though, doesn't it?' <_<
  17. I agree! Why bother to keep coming on here to post if you just want to belittle every achievement and diss them at every opportunity? <_<
  18. I'll second that Jay. Incidentally re Aphrodite's post where she mentioned The Vamps. I bought my daughter their album for Christmas and what a good, catchy album it was.
  19. I think Gary posted on Twitter just before Christmas that they'd shot the video for Get Ready for it - my Twitter isn't working this morning for me to double check exactly what he said. Also, I think it was mentioned somewhere that they're at The National TV awards on 21 January, so hopefully they'll perform their new song on there. There's nothing on the site, but I'm sure I did read something about it.
  20. I don't get why you need to come on here and belittle Take That's success either. We all know that worldwide Robbie is more successful than Take That, but this is a Take That forum. You wouldn't like it if we went on the Robbie forum to have a pop at him and his ego. And BTW, I know none of Take That are perfect either. You can't take away the fact that they've had a very successful and long career - a career that many artists would kill to have. They've also won awards, but of course they wouldn't have as many as Robbie due to not being so successful worldwide. And I'm sorry but the Brits are a joke anyway. Everyone knows that The Brits takes itself much too seriously. They're hardly the calibre of the Ivor Novellos and are mostly voted for by a load of musical big-wigs who are so up their own arses that they only vote for what they see as "cool". They like Rob but not Take That very much, which was noticeable when they won awards the year that Rob came back and the only awards they won when he wasn't around were the music audience voted ones. Now, can we please get back on topic on 111, not how great Rob is compared to Take That? :P
  21. Well said!! I agree with everything you say. I watched a couple of songs online of the concert and they seemed really at ease and the new stuff sounded great. The Garden is one of my favourites, but being a Jay fan I do miss seeing him there. I wonder whether he'll be back for the 25th anniversary, though judging by the tone of his resignation letter I can't see it happening.
  22. I thought their performance on Graham Norton was much better than X Factor. At least they sounded like they sung the whole thing live too.
  23. Yes, if you pre-ordered it on Amazon or their official store you got a pre-sale code. Knowing that some hardcore fans attend dozens of gigs they probably pre-ordered loads of times and using different sites/email addresses you could get numerous chances if you had loads of email accounts. I ordered the Deluxe signed version and then the standard one for my parents and ended up with two - though I'm only going once.
  24. Yeah, I really liked that on first listen too. Anyone got a link to the one mentioned call Let in the Sun?
