"Sing" right now is in the same boat as Ed's previous instant grats. It's #1 on the iTunes singles chart because it's being automatically downloaded due to album pre-orders. Tomorrow, all those album pre-orders will be completed and all the single tracks sold will be gone. For "Sing" only actual single-song purchases should count towards the singles chart. I wouldn't worry about "Sing" going to #1 again next Saturday.

As far as I understand it, whoever pre-ordered Ed's new album gets the download instantly, as the other tracks. Tomorrow, people will be downloading the rest of the album and all those previous downloads of tracks that happened because of the pre-order will turn into downloads of digital album. So by that logic, "Sing" being at #1 now just means people are getting that download automatically. Ultimately only solo downloads (without pre-order) will count towards the single's chart. The deletion of the single version of "Sing" is just another way to send Ed Sheeran to the top of the single's iTunes chart and drive the album pre-orders.

I guess Little Mix album #3 is coming this November, then? One Direction and Little Mix could easily release more singles from their albums, but with new albums on the way before Christmas, they have to finish the currents eras by early summer to make room for new stuff in a few months. Releasing new music frequently is how both groups keep their momentum going.

It's most likely Madonna. Adele would be the best possible candidate to release an album without warning. Digital release would break all records in the first week and the physical release about two weeks later would just continue the momentum.

Considering Sweden won Eurovision just two years ago with a way better song than "Undo", I really have a hard time imagining another win for Sweden. TOP 10 placing, absolutely, because the field is weak. I'm all for London (or any other city in the UK) 2015. Time for Eurovision to move from Scandinavia.

Not necessarily. Sales are sales, streams are streams. The Official Charts Company can include streaming in their official chart, but BPI doesn't have to certify the streams. So certifications can stay sales only. Or, maybe they can start certifying the streams separately from sales. IMO, OOC should keep the sales and streaming charts separate. Right now, the sales chart is the official UK singles chart. Once streaming really overtakes the sales, make the streaming chart official. No need to mix apples and oranges. That's what I hate with the Billboard charts. And just say no to including radio airplay.

Just listened to "Undo". Terrible. Boring, stale and not memorable at all. I didn't follow Melodiefestivalen, but I saw the music video for that "Busy Doin' Nothin'" song in this thread and even that would be better entry than "Undo".

One Direction's "Take Me Home"? It's at 906K or so, so it could get to 1 million by the end of the year.

His song choices were unfortunate and the vocals weren't perfect, especially on the second song. Little Mix bombed last night - both performances were bad.
