Very sad news about Chris, RIP. I wonder how high the song can go now? It's a shame it's one of my least favourite Christmas songs. Would have been nice to see a resurgence for the excellent 'The Road To Hell' but that seems wildly inappropriate both at this time of year and under the circumstances.

While I do agree with this, I also agree with the previous post which is that XMAS is unlikely to become an enduring Christmas classic - I'm not sure it will become a radio staple and I don't think many people outside of Kylie's fanbase will still be playing the song in a few years' time. Although of course it does all depend on whether it makes streaming services' future Christmas playlists!

Thank you Sergej Hey James! Yeah XMAS isn't all that traditional but it's fun and joyous, definitely deserving of #1! I tihnk 'Bandaids' has been lucky to go top 20 for me, I can't see it doing much more tbh. Her official singles chart career is definitely dead by this point though. 'I Run' is pretty basic but catchy, it's not gonna smash or anything though. Hopefully 'Nobody's Girl' will grow though but we'll see! Thanks Sadly I think the 'Bandaids' ship has sailed for Katy, she'd be better off trying with a new song. Yes the Haven. song is quite average and basic but there's something about it I find catchy! 'Simmer' and 'Parachute' are her only solo lead singles to be playlisted, and they both only made the B-list. However, 2014 collab with Zedd 'Stay The Night' and 2016 collab with CHVRCHES 'Bury It' were both A-listed. I feel like she's only been A-listed with this because of the Christmas quiet, any other time of year she'd probably have stalled on the B-list again! Although having said that, if they were struggling to pick a song to move up to the A-list this week, I'd have thought they'd have gone with HAIM over Hayley but who knows!
