Tom Grennan - Full Attention
Yeah it's definitely one of the more surprising flops of recent times

sombr - undressed
Now A-listed on Radio 1

Bryan Adams - Roll With The Punches
Not an artist that gets much of a look in on Buzzjack and tbh his last few releases have been a bit mid, but this is fantastic. I'm loving the melody of the verses and the earworm of a chorus!

Royel Otis - hickey
Sorry @WhoOdyssey didn't see your earlier post!

Tom Grennan - Full Attention
It won't be a hit but I like it! I get the poor man's Robbie Williams comparison but I think that's a little harsh 😂

Pop Track of the Week 2025: Week 19
'Messy' and 'Taste' are good but I think this week it's 'Full Attention' that deserves our, erm, full attention!

What is the most Ordinary #1 ever?
But there's nothing about the song that sounds "ordinary"! If anything, the fact that it doesn't sound like a #1 makes it quite the opposite of ordinary. I feel like people are missing the point of this thread, Or maybe I am, who knows 😅

Royel Otis - hickey
Royel Otis first came to my attention when they released a cover of 'Murder On The Dancefloor' last year. They've since released an album but nothing else from them caught my attention until this just released today. What an earworm of a chorus!

Streaming Services Chart Discussion; W/C 09/05/25
The David Guetta song is so bad Spotify have even refused to put it on NMF!
-
Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Taste
'Taste' is the best song of the era so far, really enjoying it!
-
Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Perimenopop
This reminds me of a friend who always used to say loooool instead of lol (even though it makes no sense to add the extra o's 🤣)

Sergej's Personal Chart 02.05.2025
Hi Sergej! Wow Ed's really liking that #3 spot isn't he? He seems to have settled into it very comfortably! Good to see Michael Schulte still on the climb. New entries wise, my favourite has to be 'Pretty Ugly' - wasn't sure about it at first but the more you listen to it, the more it gets inside your head - especially the pre-chorus! Not really sure what to make of 'What Was That' - it's not a bad song but I don't feel like it has that much replay value?

What is the most Ordinary #1 ever?
Personally I'm taking ordinary in this sense to mean forgettable, nondescript, bland... which is why I don't agree with songs like ABCDEFU, JCB Song etc. being suggested, as regardless of whether you love them or hate then, they're quite memorable and sound a bit different to any other song around at the time. That's just my take though! (Even Mr Blobby which I regard as one of the worst number ones of all time, I wouldn't call ordinary by any stretch!)

Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Perimenopop
Loving that title 😂 surely title of the year!

What is the most Ordinary #1 ever?
@awardinary I wonder if we should take all the songs mentioned in this thread and create a poll to find out what Buzzjack regards as the most ordinary of all of them? Though maybe give it another couple of days for more suggestions

Total bangers not on streaming that DIDN'T get to #1
'Love U More' is a brilliant song! I've never realised the single version isn't on Spotify.

Your Favourite PRODUCED Album
Haha! Well actually the first half of that album would actually be really well produced - it's only in the last few years that the Guetta quality has started to deteriorate. Songs like 'Titanium', 'Lovers On The Sun' and 'Dangerous' are still 10/10 bops!

Miscellaneous singles chart records that will NEVER be broken?
Thanks Dobbo, I was surprised not to see Ed Sheeran in that list but I just checked and he's missing a #10 😮 I'm sure that will be rectified at some point though!

Your Favourite PRODUCED Album
Would agree with this. The production on Ray Of Light is just another level!

David Guetta, Hypaton, Europe - The Final Countdown 2025
Oh good God, please NO.

Miscellaneous singles chart records that will NEVER be broken?
What's even more impressive about that is that they've peaked at each of those positions with exactly one single! Pink, for example (there are probably others too), has peaked at every position in the top 10 but multiple times.

Miscellaneous singles chart records that will NEVER be broken?
'Thank You Baked Potato' was just over a minute in length, I remember being surprised at the time that it didn't do better than #34.

Miscellaneous singles chart records that will NEVER be broken?
Duh, yeah that's my bad, sorry! I guess my point still stands though in that it seems easier these days for songs to spend multiple weeks at #2 (probably due to how stagnant the charts are).

Miscellaneous singles chart records that will NEVER be broken?
Great thread Dobbo! I agree with most of what you said. This record is going to take a very long time to break IMO since there's far less guarantees of a #1 single these days compared to 20 years ago when acts like Westlife were pretty much guaranteed a week at #1 with a new single. 'Azizam' has no chance even if 'Ordinary' goes to ACR as other songs will be ahead of it. If physicals couldn't propel it to #1 then nothing will! I think this can be broken. YUNGBLUD recently released a similar length song, of course that didn't even chart but there's no reason a song like that couldn't go to #1 if it was a big comeback single for someone for example. I can see the shortest one being broken even sooner. Isn't 'Pink Pony Club' now also tied with Murder and APT? Given how recent all three of those songs are, I'd say this is probably the most likely of all these records to be broken soon.
