Radio 1 Playlist (03/04/26): A dry spell at the Jamie Oliver petrol station
Shame Olivia only managed 4 weeks on the playlist, 'The Book Of Love' is such a lovely song, I wish she'd properly promoted it! Still no Bebe but at least they've added FLO so that's something... Funny how they've removed Turnstile the artist and added Turnstile the song in the same week

Olivia Rodrigo - you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love
Really hoping we get a single ASAP and don't have to wait until June!!

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 8 Single - The Final - Results
I'm equally surprised and pleased that 'Enola Gay' has done so well here. OMD are such a great band, I think 'Enola Gay' was the first song I ever heard by them and I've loved it ever since (even if I've come to love more of their songs even more since then!) That jump in points for Michael Jackson though Bad became a de facto greatest hits with so many iconic songs released from it (I think it still holds the record for most number of singles released from a studio album with 9?) and 'Smooth Criminal' is easily one of the most iconic of those, with an iconic video to match. Glad it's iconicness has been recognised in this poll! I'll stop saying iconic now.

iTunes Weekly Thread w/c 27th March 2026
I've heard it on a TV advert so I'm guessing that's why

Matt Cardle - The Great Escape
New single 'Mirrorball' is out now, probably the best song he's released in a long time!
-
Weezer - Shine Again
Yeah, this is solid!

Friday Chart Predictions
Watch her land #43 on Friday with three Kanye songs above her - that will give Buzzjack one more reason to hate him!

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 8 Single - The Final - Results
I guess we're naming the songs then lol 🤷♂️ I didn't realise 'Enola Gay' was still to come, would never have guessed Buzzjack would rate it that highly! The taste!

Olivia Rodrigo - you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love
I was just gonna post this tonight! Hope we get a single as early as this Friday, though it'll probably just be the announcement.

The Pop Factor: Season 2 • Live Show Two: The Ballads of a Broken-Hearted BuzzJack
Not to mention the ageism against the old man! Bowie is 100% going out this round.

I love how you say that like you're as clueless as the rest of us about who sent him

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 8 Single - The Final - Results
Another two crackers. The four singles from American Idiot are four of Green Day's best songs so I'm happy to see 'Wake Me Up When September Ends' in the top 10. 'In The End' also one of Linkin Park's best. I have no idea what 4 songs are remaining! 'Dancing On My Own' must be one of them, right? EDIT: I think I've worked out what the other three are but I'll keep quiet in case people don't want to know, I don't know what the etiquette is on this kinda poll!

Friday Chart Predictions
I didn't realise Melanie Martinez was that big in the UK but I checked and her previous album made #2 three years ago so clearly she does have a fanbase - and I guess the sexual assault controversy hasn't harmed her career much then. The album isn't bad either, I quite liked a handful of songs on it.

DaTilt Top 75 April 2nd 2026
Hi DaTilt! Great to see 'Leak It' crack your top 10, hopefully it will so the same for me in due course. Good new entry from Jungle, it took a couple of listens to click with me but I do quite like it. I haven't listened to the Fcukers album yet but your chart has reminded me to check it out, so I will do so tomorrow! Nice chart

Mango's Top 40 (30/03/26): The woman in love leaked the club song at my dinner party
Thanks Sergej, good to see there's plenty you appreciate this week Thanks DaTilt, yes I think 'Leak It' and 'Eclipse' will both do well here but let's wait and see!

Contemporary Track of the Month: March 2026
Top 2 were easy for me - Muse #1 and Delta #2. Had to deliberate on my #3, it was between Hard-Fi, Mel C and the Pussycats, but I decided to give it to Hard-Fi. Even though it's not up there with the best of their heyday stuff, or even their EP from last year, it's still decent.

God they really know how to milk a release, don't they! They've clearly been taking lessons from a certain Ms Swift...

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 8 Single - The Final - Results
Glad I'm not the only one who finds 'Yesterday' a bit overrated!
-
Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 8 Single - The Final - Results
'Ain't Nobody' is good but it's never been up there as one of my absolute favourites so there's quite a few other songs I would have liked to see above it. And this may be a bit controversial but I don't rate 'Yesterday' anywhere near as highly as lots of other Beatles songs, even though it often crops up in lists of best songs ever written and is reportedly the most covered song in history. It's not a bad song at all ofc but I don't think it would even be in my top 30 Beatles songs!

Club Bizarre @ The Indie Disco: Results
I've always loved that Protocol song and I remember dancing to it in indie clubs in the late 2000s so I knew I just had to enter it for this theme! I had no idea how it would do so I'm just happy to have finished top half thanks to the final set of votes! Congrats on the win @AllStarBySmashMouth and thanks for a great theme @lewistgreen
