That's insane to me

Hating on one of the greatest pop songs of all time? I'm disappointed in you There couldn't have been a more deserving winner tbh

Tactical voting at its cleverest! Wow @ Darin finishing second, definitely looking like the dark horse of the competition if future songs are chosen right. Looking forward to a banger from him next round!

Was fully expecting M83 and Dido to go but Lewis is a shock, I didn't even realise he was in danger! Surely it must have been close between him and Damien.

Nooooo not another theme

Kodaline not even top 40 in the albums then!

I still think that accolade could be better worded but The Slightest Touch is such a banger! Love all three of Five Star’s, Steps' and Louise's versions. I guess it's hard to do a bad version of a good song!

So these have been doing the rounds on social media this past week. Not sure how many of you have seen them but I thought I'd post them here for anyone interested. I imagine they will be pretty easy for people on a music forum lol but there seemed to be that one song on each image which took me ages to work out. (In the case of Oasis, it was the birthday cake clue, that one took me forever!) (There's also one of the Coldplay ones which doesn't quite make sense to me but whatever!) There are lots from other artists too if you search Instagram for guitar.day

@Spiceboy's Album Covers quiz is now open in the Lounge, check it out here!

1 Bananarama - Bad For Me · I grew up to Bananarama and Wow is one of my favourite albums of the 80s so there was never any doubt that this was gonna top my votes, thank you to whoever sent them!! 2 Years & Years - Ties · This is decent, even if Gold would have been my pick from Communion. 3 iamamiwhoami - shadowshow · Definitely the best of the three songs they've sent so far. 4 New Order - Love Vigilantes · Nice production again, very typical of their sound, but not quite up there with the quality of their hit singles that I'm more familiar with. 5 Texas - Like Lovers (Holding On) · Awww I wanted something from Red Book! I see this was the B-side to 'In Demand', so kudos to whoever sent it for actually going with a B-side rather than an album track. Not a bad track but unfortunately, I wanted to like it more than I did. 6 Depeche Mode - Photographic · They've always been a big singles band for me so I'm looking forward to their big hitters in the coming rounds. 7 Sade - Pearls · I've always loved her voice but this song kinda went nowhere. 8 Fontaines D.C. - Sundowner · Turns out I didn't like this quite as much as I remembered liking it, if that makes sense. Hoping my favourites from them are coming up though! 9 Ultravox - Accent on Youth · This was OK but not especially memorable. 10 M83 - Lower Your Eyelids to Die With the Sun · Yeah I'm one of these people who just doesn't have the attention/patience span for a 10 minute song, though even in a shorter edit this wouldn't have done much for me, sorry!

Oh don't worry she knows

You're not wrong. I do love The Runner

Unlikely - there will be a different song battling Adéla for #1! Hi Seltin! It took ages but I've finally warmed to Sienna's song, let's see how high it can climb! Miley is gonna smash. Bored of Carly now. I think you'll get a nice surprise when you see Ashe's position next week Thanks! Sup Jordan! 1 - No this is her first entry. I hadn't even heard of her until a few weeks ago when I heard this song! 6 - It really is, isn't it? It sounds like a breath of fresh air compared to everything else in the chart! 14 - Awww, hopefully it's just a slow burner for you and you'll grow to like it more? 22 - Completely agree! 29 - Yeah it was pretty instant for me too, but I don't think anything Rosé does will ever come close to 'Toxic Till The End' for me, easily one of my songs of the decade 33 - Oh you'd be surprised because I'm really enjoying it at the moment, it has a good chance of doing very well here 34 - I agree, his uptempos are generally much better than his ballads!! Thanks

Their last three albums all hit #1 so I'd be surprised if this one didn't. I don't see much competition anyway - I don't know if there's more hype than usual for Kodaline given that it's their final album? Although even then I think they'll manage top ten at best.

This post is arguably amusing

I believe @Lee_J11 and @Spiceboy are handling that particular contest as I've heard they're the experts

Guessing this EP has gone the same way as his album then

Have sent some answers. Tbh I had no idea what to put for most of them, it was all very random!

P could also have been Peru (Fireboy DML & Ed Sheeran) Other top 40 hits not mentioned: Barbados (Typically Tropical) Congo (Genesis) El Salvador (Athlete) Cuba (Gibson Brothers) Greece (DJ Khaled feat. Drake) Argentina (Jeremy Healy & Amos) America (Razorlight) - if you can count it Others which missed the top 40: Panama (Van Halen) Madagascar (Art of Trance) I had these all in a list for a quiz I once hosted, before anyone thinks I need to get out more

Yeah, I agree with this. The word "pop" may have originally been a shortened version of "popular" but its meaning has evolved over the years. Oasis are certainly popular but I don't think anybody would call them pop! On the other hand, HRVY makes pop music but he's arguably not very popular

Really? I had you down as Dido...

Has no one told them Halloween isn't until the end of the month?

How about the BJ Factor then? Oh wait, that sounds like something completely different
