Yeah this is probably the hardest round to call!

The Sam Smith track appeared on Now 115 (not that that means it was an official single but possibly a promo single of some sort). The Sam Fender track was playlisted by Radio 1 which almost always means it was an official single, even though Wikipedia doesn't list it as one. So definitely just bending the rules rather than breaking them!

Nearly midday and they still haven't updated the website 🙄 so we don't know what the BBC Introducing or Future Artist is yet. I'm off out for lunch soon so hopefully they'll have updated it by the time I'm back!

Well according to Now 115, it was

Oh I didn't realise that - I'd only ever known of and played the one called New Music Friday, but a few weeks ago I noticed the UK/Ireland one for the first time so I thought it was something that was newly launched, but I guess Spotify just decided to push it on me then for some reason.

I was wondering why it wasn't on the New Music Friday playlist! Incidentally, I was wondering why there are now two playlists, NMF and NMF UK & Ireland, with similar songs on both but not quite the same?!

Yeah I was wondering if it was just a promo single, but either way it's only just been released so they could easily add it next week instead

Actually I'm going to correct myself here. There's plenty they could add if they chose to: new stuff from CHVRCHES, Rose Gray, Teddy Swims, Jamie T, Becky Hill, Rex Orange County... to name a few. The playlist is starting to feel really stale and needs a shake up!

'Don't Think Of Me' is sublime and absolutely what would have saved her this round!

Pitiful new adds. And I don't know why Bebe and Charli need that long on the playlist. Guess there's not that much around at the moment to add!

Nice, I'll type up the thread in a bit

Yeah I just can't warm to 'Nicole Kidman', I don't get the hype at all. 'Blink Twice' is good, I expect it will hit my chart in the next couple of weeks! Well you say not often but it's actually the 5th song to spend 4+ weeks at number one this year already! 'Club To Your Arms' didn't really do much for me, I much prefer 'Just Be Bodies' If the competition wasn't so tight I would say that 'Marianne' would have a genuine shot at #1 but I can't see it at the moment. There will be a new number one next week and I'm almost certain a new one the week after You should give Miley's album a listen, it does have some great songs on it tbf. Yeah 'Great Expectation' took its sweet time to grow on me but I'm actually really enjoying it now so we'll see how high it will climb my chart. Thanks James

1 Leona Lewis - Outta My Head · I don't remember ever hearing this before but then again I was never a big fan of the Echo era. This is a bit of a banger though, I can see why people are saying it should have been a single!! 2 Adele - Can I Get It · I think 30 was a little bit of a letdown of an album but this was definitely the standout track on it, so much more interesting than the ballads (and the fact that it's a Max Martin is no coincidence!) 3 Zara Larsson - Blue Moon · What an amazing return to form Midnight Sun was from Zara, and this is a great pick from it! It's being pushed as the next single I hear, so this theme came just in time! 4 Agnes - Loaded · I know some of her stuff but I'm not aware of this album - I think I might have to check it out based on this song though, it sounds great! 5 Jessie Ware - The Kill · What's Your Pleasure as a whole was a bit of a hit and miss album for me, but this is certainly one of the better songs on it! 6 Robyn - Time Machine · I think there are other tracks from Body Talk I prefer over this one but it's not bad. 7 Kate Bush - Reaching Out · Never been a massive fan of hers outside of the well known hits but I did quite like this. 8 Sophie Ellis-Bextor - New York City Lights · I usually love most stuff by Sophie but this is missing something for me and the production feels a bit flat. 9 MARINA - Teen Idle · Not sure I've heard this before and honestly it didn't do much for me - there are lots of Marina songs I love though so hopefully we'll get one of those next week! 10 Dido - Mary’s in India · Not one of my favourites on the album sadly - and I can see I'm not alone in that opinion. It's a shame because she had so much more to give in this contest!

I honestly think she's way too far behind to catch up now, even if she gets a few better votes

'Miss You Bow Wow' is probably my favourite Girls Aloud song ever. Just heard Sarah's version and I'm not that keen on it, just sounds too disjointed. Maybe I'm just too used to the original but yeah I don't think I'll be going back to Sarah's version sadly!

09.0 Bananarama - Last Thing On My Mind 08.5 Bee Gees - Tragedy 08.0 Elaine Paige & Barbara Dickson - I Know Him So Well 11 Kylie Minogue - Better The Devil You Know - by a country mile 10.0 Diana Ross - Chain Reaction 08.0 Benny Andersson Band - Story Of A Heart 07.0 Delta Goodrem - Dancing With A Broken Heart 07.5 Jenny Silver - Something In Your Eyes 10.0 Five Star - The Slightest Touch 08.0 VINCINT - Hard 2 Forget BONUS: 06.5 Worlds Apart - Here and Now 07.5 Mollie King - In The Dark (To The Beat Of My Heart)

It's mad that Keo are on course for a #1 album and yet they don't have a Wikipedia page!

Yes that's already been mentioned in this thread (more than once I believe). It would have been wrong for it to chart at any other position!

Madonna getting two top 10 singles in the space of a few weeks in 2026 would be iconic, but I can't see it happening now!

Well I've got this on my wall... I'm not being serious, I know that doesn't count But I've just seen this thread and what a great idea! Nerdy but excellent! I might start doing it, though I think I'll restrict myself to songs that were UK top 40 hits (and that I know obvs).

Wow, and I thought I was pedantic

Well, all the cool kids plus Bananarama (I'm actually surprised they're at the lower end of votes, Wow is a great 80s pop album!)
