Unions to go to court over pension reform...
They have a point and a valid case but to be demanding more money at a time when the country could be about to go into another recession is not the right time, everyone has to tighten their belts. I got a 2.5% rise this year in my salary which is half the rate of inflation but I accepted it in the spirit of the current economic turmoil and 'we are all in this together' so the unions should accept 'we are all in this together' too.

X Factor 2011 || Live Shows - Week 4
Andy Abraham and Ray Quinn hardly sung a song past the mid 80's and still were runner ups and Olly Murs sung a lot of older stuff and was too so I don't think being non contemporary would damage Marcus. Most voters in X Factor are not the stereotypical teenage girls they are housewives and middle aged and 25+, Marcus would get them on board.

Top 20 Chronic Underachievers in Team Sports
Test cricket is where the real cricket is though, one day and 20-20 while entertaining is not the benchmark of cricket greatness it is who can slog the best, in test cricket South Africa have consistently been the best nation outside of Australia since they came back into international cricket but swap England with Australia now.

Top 20 Chronic Underachievers in Team Sports
Man City, achieved nothing for decades and it has taken several billion pounds to get them to the position they are now. As for South Africa that is very harsh, they were banned from international cricket for a generation due to apartheid and came back to an era where cricket was dominated by possibly the finest cricket squad the sport has ever seen (Australia in the Waugh/Warne/McGrath era), even now South Africa are the world #2

Marco Simoncelli has died in a crash at Sepang
Was watching it live at the time and it is one of those moments in motorsport where you know the second it happened the person isn't going to survive. Seems like it was Rossi's bike that struck his head/neck which will be doubly hard for Rossi as they were very good friends and he idolised Rossi and copied his hair.

X Factor 2011 || Live Shows - Week 4
Nice idea but don't see how it could work, the original Timewarp from the show is sung by a cast including a section from a woman so it would not be effective. Unless he does Damian's version which is far inferior.

I heard a rumour that Frankie will be doing Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon, if he does I will hate him even more as that is one of my all time favourite songs.

Was Libya Framed for Lockerbie Bombing...?
I have always felt that Lockerbie was an Iranian event most likely in revenge for the Americans shooting down an Iranian passenger jet they 'mistook' for a military fighter. Never felt that Libya were responsible and that they were just a convenient soft target to blame like Bush telling the American people Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11.

Liam Fox
Fox was clearly guilty of lack of common sense and rightly had to resign. The man is clearly intelligent as he underwent 7 years of medical training so he has no excuses really, it is not like he is a chav off the street. Letwin should go too, total stupidity.

X Factor 2011 || Live Shows - Week 3
If that is true then Misha should sue Louis and Tulisa for slander, falsely accusing someone and discrediting them infront if 15m viewers just to help their acts is a new low for X Factor.

X Factor 2011 || Live Shows - Week 3
Amelia was well and truly set up. At auditions-judges houses she looked fresh and natural with her outfits and bleached hair but then they turned her into a freak with hair like a granny from 1960's Corrie, tons of fake tan and that ridiculous leather jacket. I doubt she had a say in any of that. She had the most vocal talent of anyone who has ever been on X Factor.

X Factor 2011 || Live Shows - Week 3
The 2 contestants that are alleged to have been bullied by Misha were the bottom 2 in the voting this week so I think it is not a big issue with the public or both would have got sympathy votes and sailed through. Plus no one knows what Misha is supposed to have done. Far too much attention is being given to it on tv and online in the absence of any evidence.

The right one of the two went but neither should have been in the final 2 in the first place :angry:

X Factor 2011 || Live Shows - Week 3
Kitty is the most fake one in the series. Don't get me wrong I have loved her performances but right from the piano playing, the hairstyles, the outfits, the eccentricity, she is a Lady Gaga tribute act. God she can sing though.

X Factor 2011 || Live Shows - Week 3
I don't condone bullying but sometimes someone who is strong minded and feisty can be made out to be a bully, if evidence comes to light about Misha that shows out and out bullying I will happily change my opinion of her but at the moment Louis and Tulisa have played judge, jury and executioner without the public being informed what has happened so the public are being meant to hate Misha when they don't know what they are meant to hate her for. That to me is wrong.

X Factor 2011 || Live Shows - Week 3
Lady Gaga treats monsters well I am not talking about how she is with the fans, in the recording studio and in the board room she is as hard as nails, a perfectionist.

X Factor 2011 || Live Shows - Week 3
I will make a prediction. The most successful artist X Factor will have is Cher Lloyd. I don't pretend to be a fan of her music but she has the toughness to her that will take her to the top and keep her there. I read that while she was out in Miami making a song she was organising the producers telling them what to do not them her, she was pushing her dancers to the limit until they were perfect, while I don't like her music she will survive in the piranha pool and succeed where others will fail, in her career she will be more successful than any artist X Factor has ever produced.
-
X Factor 2011 || Live Shows - Week 3
Even her star is fading now, she is quickly becoming forgotten about. The artists I listed on a previous page have been in the industry successfully for decades in many cases, not 5 minute wonders.
-
X Factor 2011 || Live Shows - Week 3
I would say equally you don't get anywhere in the music industry by being nice either, successful artists have to be every bit as ruthless and strong minded as a top businessman. The music industry is a piranha pond and to succeed you have to fight your corner, you have to have the balls to tell record producers what to do and tell them they are shit when they are creating shit, to tell make up artists what you are going to look like, to negotiate the best contracts with the record labels or you will be walked all over and never succeed. Misha having a no nonsense personality will help her no end in the industry. The likes of Joe McElderry, Matt Cardle, Leon Jackson, Shayne Ward, Steve Brookstein, nice guys to bring home to mummy but too nice to succeed in the industry.

Some people just have strong personalities though Rooney and have blunt manners and those with weaker personalities can feel intimidated by them. My brother in laws brother worked in a senior position at Amstrad where he was in close contact with Lord Sugar on a day to day basis and Sugar was by all accounts extremely abrasive and abrupt but does that mean that Sugar was a bully :unsure: or is it just his manner and strong personality, I would say the latter. Misha sounds to me the same, not that she is nasty or a bully but simply has an abrasive personality.

X Factor 2011 || Live Shows - Week 3
Cher last year came across as an awful person and there were constant rumours of bad behaviour behind the scenes but now she has finished with X Factor she has improved so much as a person that she is beginning to win me over. She has gone fom being my worst X Factor contestant ever to being someone I quite like (although not as a singer)

X Factor 2011 || Live Shows - Week 3
There was novelty acts before that though. Chico for example was way before Jedward. X Factor needs to totally restructure, get rid of the 4 catergories and just have the judges hand pick the 12-16 best contestants, if they all happen to be girls or all happen to be boys then so what, the catergories need to go We lost the best singer X Factor has ever had (Amelia Lily) while inferior singers were saved because they were in weak catergories plus the likes of Jade Richards and Melanie McCabe never even made the finals and are better than anything currently in the competition.

X Factor 2011 || Live Shows - Week 3
I am basing my opinion purely on the "I will be a megastar you will be on a cruise ship" claim to Sami that was reported to have badly upset Sami and caused the argument according to a Daily Star journo on Twitter. If that is all this is about then the lynch mob are out in force over something minor. If some more serious stuff has happened behind the scenes then it should be made public for the public to judge and I would probably change my opinion but Tulisa and Louis are fanning the flames without stating the facts.

Libya - A "war" of hypocrisy and lies...
I think it has the potential to be Iraq II sadly, I can see the various rebel groups turning on each other and a possible civil war not to mention Saif Al Arab if he is still alive and having access to Ghadafi's wealth could cause a lot of trouble still and have the resources to mount a future coup attempt. Things will get worse before they get better. I share your concern about Libya but at the same time shed no tears at the demise of the colonel.

X Factor 2011 || Live Shows - Week 3
These people are all grown adults. All with experience of the real world, Janet the possible exception because of her age. Someone who is not fully developed mentally/physically, a child at school, is likely to be affected by bullying and rightly need protection but these people are grown adults, a bit of name calling and mind games is not to me enough to turn against a contestant. If Misha went up to Sami and punched her that is different, instant expulsion from the series should happen in that case but "sticks and stones........" should apply here.
