  1. I already voted in this one earlier apparently! I reckon I voted 6 for the artwork. Temptation is a great track. Love Carol Kenyon's bits especially. I probably should have gone Karma Chameleon for side 2, but I think I might have gone Moonlight Shadow, For side 3 I think I went Tonight I Celebrate My Love For You, while side 4 I'm sure I went for Victims. A great start to the series, but a different feel given that it covers the whole year. Probably voted 7 or 8.
  2. The last of the series that my parents bought. I think it is supposed to look like a photo album, but it is very grey. I think I voted 2. Side 1 - easily the Housemartins this time. Side 2 - easily Berlin Side 3 - think I went for Down to Earth side 4 - Could have gone for Livin on a Prayer, but ended up with Final Countdown CD - Take My Breath Away, again. Think I voted Very Good for this one.
  3. A much better cover than the previous two. Think I went 7. Don't Leave Me This Way easily the best on side 1. Was singing it only yesterday. For side 2 I went for We Don't Have To..., though I considered Mel & Kim Side 3 - Cutting Crew, of course Side 4 - Kim Wilde CD - No Communards leaves room for the Pet Shop Boys! Generally a good selection despite the three flops. Think I voted 7.
  4. Another that my parents bought. Artwork. Pretty sure it is a bag, but not great again. Voted 4 or 5. Side 1 - first Now appearance of the brilliant Pet Shop Boys Side 2 - I know a lot of people hate it but I went for Lady in Red, among the stand out tracks. Side 3 - I see Venus has by far and away the most love on this side here. I do love Bananarama, but would have gone for Edge of Heaven over it (which still has no votes). I'm the first to vote for Holding Back the Years. Side 4 - Billy Ocean, easily. Much much better than Now 6. I think I voted 7.
  5. I'm not sure now if I voted 5 or 6 for the artwork here. For a vinyl there is a lot of empty space, though. Side 1's best track has to be the Eurythmics, complete with Stevie's harmonica! Kate Bush for side 2, and Midge Ure for side 3. I'd ordinarily want to refresh my memory of tracks I've forgotten before voting in something like this, but as others have voted based purely on tracks they are familiar with I struggled with side 4 - by name alone I can't really recall how any of them go. I remember Just For Money featured a Bob Hoskins sample though, so picked that for novelty factor. I was going to give it a rating of six, but despite some great songs there are so many that haven't stuck with me that I felt I had to go for 5.
  6. Another that my parents bought. I love the artwork for this one featuring all the artists 'logos'. Probably the best cover yet! I think I voted 7. Side 1 has the amazing Axel F, but then it also has the best ever James Bond theme, so I had to go for that. Side 2 can only be another movie classic - Don't You (Forget About Me) For Side 3, I absolutely love Frankie. It's one of the great 80s number ones for me. Again no contest for side 4, Walking on Sunshine is a belter! Although record 2 is undoubtedly weaker there are many great tunes on here. I love the eighties so I rated it 9 again.
  7. Now 16 also didn't have any number ones. This is another that I grew up listening to, and its fab! So many good tracks on side 1 but I chose Never Ending Story. The Thompson Twins were great in this period so I decided to pick Doctor! Doctor! for side 2. Pride (In the Name of Love) is by far the standout track of side 3 For side 4 I really love Rockwell, but I love the eccentricity of the Malcolm McClaren track even more! For the CD version - well I couldn't really NOT pick Radio Ga Ga, could I?! Queen are one of my favourite groups and this is one of their very best! I love this more than volume 3 so of course it had to get the 9/10 again. Oh...the artwork! It's better then now 3, I would say. I think I went for 5.
  8. Not a terrific album cover, despite the introduction of the pig. For my faves from each side I picked Phil Collins, Bronski Beat, Cyndi Lauper and Wham! I didn't grow up listening to this one, but any album of hits from 1984 has to be voted amazing!
  9. Hello everyone - my first post here! I tried to have a nose at the poll results before voting, not realising in doing so I was choosing not to place a vote myself! :( EDIT: Awardinary says he will add my votes on for me. Yayy!! Amazed btw that I can still edit this post all these hours later. How long exactly do we get to edit on Buzzjack? So here are my thoughts on this album. I was just three when this was released, and it was the first of five editions (plus Now Christmas) that my parents bought. It was played LOADS and is very dear to me. It is not only my favourite Now, but my favourite compilation. Maybe even favourite album full stop! The artwork isn't the best, but I prefer it to Now 1. I particularly like the very stylised "music". I think I gave the artwork a 7 - especially if we're judging it on more than just the cover. The pastel shades and layout inside is very nice, too. I've chosen "Radio Ga Ga" as my username as it's the name I had on the nowmusic forums years ago. As well as being the first song on my favourite Now,, it's also the only song from Now 2 on the original CD release of Now 4. However it's not my favourite song on side 1. I voted for Nik Kershaw. For side 2 I voted for the fab 99 Red Balloons. There doesn't seem to be a lot of love for record 2 in the posts above. Side 3 however has some of the best tracks. I voted for Wishful Thinking by China Crisis. My little 'joke' of the past couple of years incidentally is that it is Wishful Thinking that Covid had remained a China Crisis! Pipes of Peace was a great number one but for side 4 I picked one of the best from Duran Duran. I concluded of course by voting 10 for Best Now ever!
