  1. I'd agree with you on most Animal Collecitve albums but I have a soft spot for Feels / Sung Tongs
  2. LCD Soundsystem The Beatles Bon Iver Fleet Foxes Justin Timberlake Tame Impala Pitchfork are slowly becoming irrelevant and will follow down the same path as NME/Rolling Stone, mark my words. They're already so out of touch. They cater to a specific kind of audience that is growing older/more stale (nearing into "alt-bro" territory but I think they've had enough sense this year to avoid that). I'm not sure what will take its place but The Fader / Dazed / Dummy / FACT are all far more relevant in 2013 in my eyes rn.

Ugh Seth Rogen is so f***ing hot idc Song is great of course and the vid is intentionally supposed to be a "white trash"/phony video which I dig in theory but I think they could have played it up more, doesn't feel as intentional as it could be. Should have just left the Ellen watermark on the actual video too tbh lol
  7. I want to skin white people and wear them like Versace

The issue isn't that her backup dancers weren't diverse enough really, more so that it shouldn't have been happening at all. It's poor and offensive satire.

But most of the dancers are black? And all of the slow-mo shots of asses, breasts, etc. are of the black dancers? And everyone in the video is an adult - how is that parodying youth culture? Twerking has existed for 20-30 years and has a very rich history and it's really only recently since a bunch of white artists have capitalized on it that it's really been focused on in the media. I know she's really mostly throwing shade at Miley, Robin Thicke, etc. and I totally think there's legitimate criticism for both of them but I think this is the wrong way to go about it - the fact that nearly all of the dancers in this vid are black sort of kills the point 2 me. "DON’T NEED TO SHAKE MY ASS FOR YOU, COS I GOT A BRAIN" When you pair this with images of black women twerking it comes off as "I'm above this", or at least I think that's how most people will perceive the video and not a critique on white ppl exploiting black culture. I think I'm mostly tired of how when people critique capitalism, body image in media etc. they often use imagery/ideas from black culture and attack that? Jewelry/"bling", money, alcohol, twerking, etc. Lorde's Royals comes to mind as well. Why are these the images in our mind of excess/greed and not Wall Street, bankers, etc.? "New Slaves" comes to mind for me. I'm just sayin

:/ This vid... Song is fine but the vid totally ruins it and almost is hypocritical? Still trying to gather my thoughts about it. It's pretty racist to me? I can't get down with it even though I think it's really catchy. Also the song isn't really saying anything not already covered here: dg8QgUIKXHw
  22. ^_^ VERY relieved to be thru considering I've seen people giving me odds all over the place??? And I've only seen a few ppl even really talk about it. At this point I'm always just happy to make the final though. Mostly happy w the qualifiers though sad to see my 12 pointer (Sarah ): ) not go through
