TBH, I don't think Cher Lloyd is that big here. "Want you back" which was her biggest hit didn't even hit the top 10, and wasn't an airplay hit. Having said that, I think LM will be marketed as the female 1D (in terms of appeal), and "Wings" is actually very radio friendly. I love the song, and sounds as 'sophisticated' (I put it in quotes) as 1D's "what makes you beautiful".

Ed Sheeran going down...but what's with all the love for 1D's "Little things" all of a sudden? That's a good increase!

Is "wings" getting a US release anytime soon? It was played extensively near the closing of last night's Victoria's Secret annual model show.

I know 540K is a great 1st week for 1D, but was I the only one expecting around 570-600K? Even Mumford sold more than them whilst they don't have such an 'obvious' fan base.

It's sad that for all the promo Ellie Goulding's done, her albums don't sell very well in the US, do they? Nice to see Ed Sheeran sell 200K+ on the strength of 1 song. Hopefully they get to release 2-3 more songs in the US and don't just jump to his 2nd album (whenever that's due).

I wonder when they'll get rid of this airplay+sales chart and make it a sales-only chart like the rest of the world.

9 British artists in the 50 is quite amazing! How close is Adele's 21 to the 10mil mark?

I would've thought it would've been the other way around! Looks like this song will do a "Rumour has it" in terms of airplay. For all we know, #8 might be its BB110 peak unless something dramatic happens during the movie release week.

Simon knows they won't last forever so just capitalise on the seasonal sales for the 2nd album....funnily enough, I actually quite liked the boys on X Factor. I loved their version of Torn. And I loved both "Beautiful" and "1 thing" from the 1st album despite them being typical boyband songs. Shame their new song sounds so diluted and so obviously "get an album out so we can cash in on sales soon".

And seriouslly, in today's world of computerised inventories, radio tracking and so much of online transaction, does one really need 2-3 days to publish a chart?

The funny thing with that is the sales for Week1 are counted and published on the Thursday of Week 2 on Billboard, with a note that says "Hot 100 for the week ending Week 3".

Well, the Kesha and Rihanna updates give the Adele chart position much respect! Given its slow rise up the airplay chart, I don't think it'll be #1 but will be top 5 definitely for a few weeks after the movie is released.

And 3 Brits in the top 10 this week as well... since the Adele invasion happened, how many weeks have we had this year with no British acts in the top 10? Very few I'd think (less than 10)?

Am I the only one a bit disappointed by Adele's position? I was hoping she'd crack the Top 5.

Agree. Given it's released at the time when sales start to pick up, I can see this single easily doing over 400K in the UK by end of the year. The Bond movie releases end Oct which should boost sales further.

Even if it does, it'll be really late at which point sales will have gone down. With their sales last week neck to neck (Maroon5 and Gangnam) but M5 leading in 100mil impressions, a 3rd week at #1 on BB100 seems guaranteed.
