Very middling updates for Adele

Will it get to #1 next week?

I know right? OK, it's not a "flop" by regular standards but for a new Adele song, I opened this thread this morning thinking there'll be AT LEAST a 3mil gain. My bigger concern is, I don't even know how James Bond songs perform on radio historically. Considering Adele herself won't be doing any promo in the near future, will sales sustain or improve her chart perf?

Eric_Blob and Big Mistake, I forgot about the change of rules (again) giving imp. to streaming, etc. Yeah, all things considered, top 5 is probably the safest bet.

I like it as an Adele fan but I find it boring otherwise. But then again, I hate all Bond songs except "Die another day".

I wonder how much Adele will sell in the US though. Even a 300K sales with her initial airplay should be enough for a #1 perhaps? Katy Perry's "Part of me" debuted on the BB100 at #1 with about 400K sales and 0 airplay if I recall right.

Actually yeah, colour me a bit disappointed as well. Considering the likes of Kesha and Rihanna managed the same amt as well, I was thinking that Adele's huger and would probably start with a 30-35mil+ number.

Upto 2 in the US but stalling at 3 on the UK iTunes.

Nice to see so many UK artists although save for Alex and 1D, no one's making major moves.

I think Kesha and Rihanna are doing very well (as expected). just that the PSY thing has taken off and so it appears that Kesha isnt' doing htat well. Shame about Xtina's quick drop!

Irrespective of individual numbers, that's quite a good representation of British artists isn't it? I didn't think Rita would gain 11mil already.

How's Ed Sheeran doing on airplay? ATeam's cracked the 50 on iTunes.

This is one of my favourite boybands songs ever.

It could go #1. I actually really like it - it's very different to what's out there and not one of his usual heavy songs. This almost reminded me Rock DJ.

1D sold about 650K'ish in the UK so far of their album. Not too bad, but the thing is this album will keep selling well for the rest of the year in the US (about 25-30K a month) so, should easily end up as the 2nd or 3rd best seller of the year (behind Adele and tentatively Taylor Swift).

Has it sold more than GYC in the US then?

It's a nice song but considering that Lights is still doing the rounds on radio stations, and then comes the festive season when programming leans on holiday and year-end countdowns and radio stations avoid adding new songs to the playlist, I don't know what the strategy to push "ACH" to radio. It would ideally be nice if radio stations add tihs song around Oct, and perhaps Ellie performs on the X Factor?
