  1. I agree. "Higher" is so made for the USA, it's got Flo Rida and it's one of my favourite songs by a girl band in a long long time (prolly after Girls Aloud "Call the shots").
  2. I was going to ask - is "Call my name" getting any kind of radio airplay or is it the few Cheryl fans that are keeping the song slowly rising? I'd like to think it's the former, as the song was hovering in the 170s/180s since release and is only now climbing the top 50.
  3. Although tbh, the Australian industry considers him as Australian (the same way they consider Olivia Newton John or in acting - Naomi Watts for that matter). The chart commentary also alludes to him as being Australian.
  4. How come Cher Lloyd's slowed down so much?!
  5. The first thing we need to hope for is that Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sande and Rebecca Ferguson get some attention on the chart. But as for current hits, surprisinglyI think Cheryl's "Call my name" stands a fairly good chance thanks to its "We found love" similarity, the Calvin Harris connection and will.i.am will push it in the US as well. Outside of that, Paloma Faith has the chance to enjoy Florence type success, if not Adele's. And you never know with Little Mix. Sorry but I don't think Olly stands a chance with the US. Has nothing to do with Rizzle kicks or chiddy Bang, his image is just a little too "uncool" for the US audiences. If I could portray an analogy, that's 1 reason why in the comic world, so many TV/movie adaptations of Tin Tin never took off in the US as well when American audiences are used to their Spiderman's and Superman's.
  6. So after ALL that hard work, the Wanted's EP will finally hit the big magic 100K mark :D
  7. Yay for Ellie and amazing how Calvin is doing so well!
  8. So the question then is, who'll replace Maroon 5? Ellie or Katy Perry? I predict another big 10points+ climb for Cher Lloyd next week as well. The song's just nailing it, isn't it?! As for Ed Sheeran - *yawn* - crack that Hot 100 mate!!
  9. Wonder where Adele will land in that list. I'm thinking she'll easy peasy finish off with about 13mil?
  10. Could Lights very well be a BB #1?
  11. Can't say... she still might!
  12. I think it's too early to give up on Olly. The song's only just gone to radio. Ellie took a year to get to this stage. The question that Olly faces is the same dilemma Robbie Williams was in - does he want to spend time promoting his 3rd album to a country where his last 2 have gone 2xP+, or start ground up in a bigger country with no rewards guaranteed? But given the current pop climate and the welcoming of foreign acts, now's really the best time for Olly.
  13. 1 LINKIN PARK LIVING THINGS . 235,604 -- 2 MAROON 5 OVEREXPOSED 220,846 --
  14. I noticed that, but I presumed the reason "19" was listed at 1mil+ sales and not the actual 2.2mil it's sold was because this didn't include 2008 and 2009 when "19" was released. Eitherway I think if we're tracking sales for the decade, I suspect the next two 1D albums will sell very well and be on this list. Boybands always peak on their 2nd effort. As will Adele's next.
  15. Who's playing Cheryl? :D
  16. They'll be close to 200K by end of the sales. Typically Billboard.biz is where I go for sales info and as of Fri they were on track for 200K.
  17. So about roughly 10% are British acts, not bad at all!
  18. I see your point. On its own, it's average at best but I was expecting another girl power anthem as generic as the RedOne's and Guetta's around so this is quite refreshing. It's got the mainstream appeal and does stand out in this year's #1. I love the outro btw!
  19. What bets that it wasn't Cowell who told the 1D boy to shag that Little Mix girl so that band could also enjoy a massive US hit? :cheer:
  20. Cher at 14 now! I suspect another 20 place jump in this week's BB100 as well.
  21. 50% doesn't mean 50% of sales, it means 50% of the vendors they've "counted". So I'm sure M5 and LP will hit the estimated mark.
  22. I think Susan Boyle also has an album at the end of the year but doubt this one will sell as much as the first 2 did.
  23. #15!! I hate her but nice to see foreign acts doing so well in the US, and making it look so effortless! Shame Rebecca and Emeli haven't caught on yet!
  24. Cher Lloyd at 16 now! I just heard Little Mix's debut single yday and it so has "US" written all over it. I wonder when/how Cowell will promote them.
  25. Another small update for The Wanted after the big one y'day. Rita going down, and Ellie and Calvin continuing to do well!
