  1. I'm noticing she's holding up well on the Australian iTunes. Heaven has been holding at 10 for 2 days now, and NRBL is also top 20 (thanks to someone who performed it on The Voice).
  2. There are 2 versions of CTS, one in the 120s and the other 150s, so hardly the boost one was expecting. I was hoping a Top 70 placing this morning at the v least.
  3. CTS at 125 now... was at 170s when I checked earlier this evening so looks like the BB Awards perf has helped.
  4. BTW why do folks think Calvin Harris/Ne Yo will be a flop? it seems to be gaining respectfully well?
  5. Yeah, I think as mentioned before, The Wanted were never a band the US fell in love with, just the song GYC. And CTS in my ears is a low-rent version of GYC so may not do that well. They've already performed CTS on "The Voice" but that didn't attract huge sales, did it?
  6. 1D's album is having a great run isn't it? And the drop off too isn't that high, around 10% a week?
  7. Well at least some radio stations ARE playing Cher Lloyd!
  8. Pretty good start for 1D. I see them easily hitting 2mil by the year end (with the tour, more TV promo, singles, etc.). Adele's albums should both get a temporary boost after the 5th June NBC special, but with no new singles, I wonder how much longer it'll keep selling. It will clear 4mil, but I don't know if it can clear 5mil sales in 2012.
  9. If Gotye sold 321K this week, he'll prolly not sell 300K+ next week.
  10. "Somewhere only we know" was/is huge, played often on TV shows and is quite a radio staple here. Their incessant promo and touring in the 2005 days helped build a loyal fanbase so, even though "Hopes and fears" didn't peak high, it stayed long enough and sold a good amt. The next 2 albums (Iron Sea and Symmetry) only debuted in the top 10 because of the fanbase. Radio doesn't touch them much these days (but that's true of the UK too).
  11. I would've thought The Wanted GYC would've sold more than 2.5mil. I thought they'd be over 3mil by now as the song seems to have been around literally all this year!
  12. jkac, it actually could! there's renewed interest in the song, the song was Spotify's song of the day on Saturday so more and more people are getting to know her. What I'll be interested in is seeing what it does for the album sales.
  13. It had, for a brief time peaked at 19 btw. I'm sure it'll go up.
  14. Mother's day sales (13th May)
  15. #20 now!

Fabulous. Also looks like "Nothing's real" was performed by one of the Voice-Australia participants... the single and album are climbing again.
  17. She won a reality show?
  18. Carly can be the next BB #1, I doubt 1D will get as big an airplay hit as "Glad u came".
  19. The title wasn't clear enough, but are there non-UK music show participants (Idol, X Factor, Voice) who've had a UK album or singles #1? And likewise, non-US reality show participants who've had a US album or singles #1? UK: Kelly Clarkson - My life... US: Leona Lewis - #1 single and album 1D
  20. Is it? I know her 1st album did well there (2xP or 3xP?) but I hardly think the public or media are that impatient?

yeah, she performed "Teach me..." on BGT, and "G&G" on Alan Carr... double whammy! The album is now #3 on iTunes but I'm sure it should make the top 5 this week if physicals have been that encouraging. The album will hopefully cross the 500K mark this week in the UK.
  22. LOL, that's true. The sadder part is that, even in the US, it was just 2 big singles she had as opposed to the UK where she could've continued doing well. I wish acts like her, Craig David, etc. realise that. Sadly, looks like Ellie's going the Natasha B'field way - plus with an American boyfriend and a prolonged stay here, she's probably used to the American life as well by now, and will invest more time here.
  23. If Lights takes off in the US (both single and album), my guess is they'll promote Starry Eyed in the US and postpone album #2 launch in the UK.
  24. I know right?! :) She's been touring extensively, doing all kinds of promos - from SNL to singing at a local Best Buy in Mineapolis! This also gives hope for others on the rise like Ed Sheeran.
