  1. I love Rizzle Kicks and that song, and amused at how it's taking off. It's already entered the Australian iTunes as well.
  2. You could very well be right. Didn't "Come on over" spend like all of 1998 and 99 in the Top 20 of both the BB200 and the UK Top 40? (if those 2 countries are any indication of chart success around the world). Although now that you mention it, it's world sales were about 37mil. Adele could smash that in time. She's already managed 20mil in 1 yr.
  3. Could it very well debut at #1? Or top 5? The single, without much airplay and no physical release is already 10 on iTunes. With all the gimmicks like a "special edition", blah blah that one can do with physical CD albums to entice pre-teens to buy 1 or more copies, is this album looking like a strong debut? The release date was also brought forward by a couple of weeks, and the iCarly episode shoud've aired by then. Not to mention they'll be touring (support act) around the time so hopefully, a few interview slots and stuff. I predict 1st week sales of about 150K.
  4. I wonder if this will end up as the best seller of 2012 as well. It will, at the very least be top 5.
  5. Here I was thinking the best selling female album of all time was any of Alanis (Jagged little pill) or any of Mariah's or Celine's albums in the 90s.
  6. LOL at the Jeremy Lin comparison! I wonder if "19" will also get a higher peak in next week's sales. It's been top 5 on iTunes so hopefully a top 5 overall too?
  7. I'm glad she's against re-releases. They're really a rip-off (thanks Gaga). I'd rather she come up with "23" or "24" a few years from now. What I will be interested in is if they let her create her own music as she did for the last 2 albums, or ship her off to work with the producers du jour given that her next album will be widely widely anticipated.
  8. LOL, fair enough! :)
  9. Thanks Bre and Liam. For some reason, I was thinking it had fallen from the UK top 10 for a while. Given that SFTTR airplay is still high (in the US) and a 4th single is out mid March, plus the Grammys effect, we could easily see it spend another 2 months in the US top 10 right?
  10. Also, which acts have the record for staying max weeks in the BB200 Top 10?
  11. It is now in its 51st week on the BB200 charts, has it EVER fallen out of the top 10? Has it spent more weeks in the US Top 10 than it has in the UK top ten?
  12. I quite agree. The only shot that the Saturdays had in the US was with that Flo Rida collaboration but that song seems dated now, and who knew at that time that UK pop would explode in the US (aka The Wanted and 1D). My next watchlist for the US would be Ed Sheeran and Rebecca Fergusson. It will be interesting to see where they go with Emilie Sande (she's already being advertised on the Australia iTunes main page).
  13. Also, as for 3 Adele songs in the top 10, will SLY make the top 10?
  14. I think The Wanted will go top 10 eventually, and their 2nd single will hopefully benefit from a "1D vs Wanted battle of the boybands" that the US media starts. Unrelated, but the only act I feel sorry for is Gotye. Good sales on iTunes but not crossing over into mainstream radio. By the time mainstream radio catches on, it'll be too late.
  15. Is it too early to start tracking 1D "What makes u beautiful"? Also, when does Ed Sheeran go for US adds?
  16. With a #11 debut, if it hangs on to the top 30 by Sunday, is it safe to bet on a BB100 entry next week?
  17. I still think 1D's chart position is amazing with virtually no airplay. If one didn't know better, one would think they were an established act in the US.
  18. Jay: thanks for pulling up The Wanted's airplay stats in the last month. I'm not an expert, so experts - help me out here! It's good their airplay has been increasing but I don't know if that's what you'd call a stellar increase/performance.
  19. I think The Wanted will benefit from 1D's exposure, the media will start off a "battle of British boybands" and that will get them some publicity. Kind of like how All Saints rode on the Spice Girls' popularity in the US back in the 90s (granted, they wrerent' as popular as the SG). But yep, feel sorry for JLS! Even getting Dev didn't get them much exposure, and I think their time is winding down in the UK as the 3rd album sold about 1/3rd of the 1st.
  20. Yeah, a few spots on Nicolodean (or whatever) TV channel and Disney channel should hopefully seal the deal. So next on the watchlist - ED SHEERAN!
  21. Sorry, let me rephrase.... her 2012 YTD "21" sales in the US have been 561K.
  22. Amazed at 1D! When are they properly promo'ing in the US (talk shows and stuff)?
  23. I really like the song (Part of me).
  24. #22 now! Which would make them #18 in a Whitney-less top 20. Amazing, I had no idea they had such a big fanbase. This is so reminiscent of Spice Girls. Does this mean with added airplay, we may just be seeing a #1 debut for the album?!
  25. Considering she'd sold 561,602 copies of "21" last week, this week's sales should put her at 800K, and next week's sales report should comfortably put her past 1.2mil then! Not bad... and to think it's not even the end of Q1 of 2012, and this is an album that's a year old! As for "19", if it doesn't hit a new peak this week, it hopefully should next week.
