Fair point,though I for one still have hundreds of CDs from 1993 onwards that I just don't ever bother playing anymore. For me,it's much easier to click & play an MP3 than fumble about with a CD case,open the disc drawer & and play a single or album,then put the CD back into the case and let it gather dust amongst all the others. Digital music is the future ! Like vinyl,Compact discs will be for the minority & collectors alike in a few years down the line.CD sales are slowing..it doesn't take as many as it used to to sell on 'physical' to get a UK #1 these days. As God once said.. 'whatever floats yer boat'. ;) :D

Cheers guys,agreed it makes a nice change to have a new #1 now & again,and an unexpected one at that. Infernal I don't feel will climb back up,primarily due to the fact that it's points have decreased week on week. Personally at this rate 'From Paris to Berlin' will score roughly 125 points by next week which should be enough to keep it lower Top 10. Yep,lost track of how many singles 'Clarkson' has released from her album,hence the estimate. ;) :D Another first this week,not a single female member of BuzzJack submitted a personal chart,so all I can say is 'thanks lads for posting !'

It was only a matter of time before Infernal scored lowly enough for someone to take their place at the top of the Buzz Jack Chart and this week has seen the inevitable happen,with not one,but FIVE songs score higher points than 'From Paris to Berlin' in the past week.Resulting last weeks #1 drops out of the Top 5 to #6 this week. The runaway leader from Day 1 was Nelly Furtado,whose 'Maneater' becomes the 5th BJ Chart #1 of 2006 after first entering the Top 40 here 7 weeks ago thanks to a handful of firm believers,the song dropped back out into the ether only to return a month later at #28.Word spread and the song shot up to #6 a fortnight ago, then a humble one place climb last week and now manages a four place leap to the summit ! Interesting to note that Nellys next single 'Promiscuous Girl' is already a slow burner further down the chart, climbing up four to #30 this week. A close fought race for runners up leaves two of last weeks big Top 10 climbers at #2 & #3 with Sandi Thom holding steady at #2 with Pink up five to #3 though both songs scored exactly 229 points apiece. The Official Chart rule & the Non-Mover privilege rule applies here as Sandi Thom is a non mover at #2 and is also the UK Top 75 #1 (four places higher than Pink),so Sandi gains the advantage in this case. Shakira holds steady at #4 and yo-yo tune of the week goes to Rihanna,who after last week plummeting from #2 to #16,rebounds back up nine to #7 with 'S.O.S'.Her next single 'Unfaithful' also gains ground and climbs again from last weeks #20 to #12. Rounding off the Top 10,The Feeling muster a crawl from #10 to #9 and this weeks highest climber,Paul Oakenfold purrs up from #22 to land 'on all fours' at #10,just pipping Keane by two points. Kelly Clarkson with her 204th single from 'Breakaway',is the second highest climber up 11 to #15,another good rise from her,but could it do better than 'Walkaway' which peaked at #4 on the B.J. Chart back in March ?? Yep,all of the Top 8 are by female vocalists/vocal acts. A BJ first. Outside the Top 10,Gnarls regains one place to #16,while Primal Scream plus LL Cool J hold steady at #14 & #18 respectively. Originally a classic disco-esque anthem from 1979, Loleatta Holloway 'Love Sensation' is this weeks highest entry up to #19 and leading the pack of what seems to be predominantly male-vocal-rockish acts is The Automatic.Their monster crashes in at #23 while Muse enter three places lower at #26 with 'SuperBlackHole'. Talking of which,Mary J Blige's 'One' re-enters at #28 and Mariah Carey's 'Say Something' pops back into the Top 40 for a third time at #36.The song is scheduled for official release this week and has yet to get any higher than #26 on our chart. A mention going out to two BJ cult favourites, Madonna's surprising slow crawl up four to #29 & Sugababes drop back down eight places to #20 (swapping positions with Rihanna..now there's a thought !) Then wait for the UK Top 40 Singles chart to be revealed on Sunday afternoon and for each number you pick,if that chart position features a NEW ENTRY,CLIMBER or A NON MOVER then you score 5 points. If ANY 6 chosen numbers matches any of the 'non-faller' numbers correct you score a bonus 10 points on top of the 30 points scored for your six winning chart position numbers. If you manage to get the BUZZJACK-POT and predict all 7 'non-fallers' you win the extra bonus pot of 25 points on top of the 35 pts scored for the 7 numbers.
