  1. Yeah I think that poster was thinking like me and would expect her to throw the water on his lap or his head, that was a bit tame. I guess the songs themselves are the most important thing, it gets better the more I watch it anyway. It's better than The Wanted one where they're just beating people up, a bit grim for teenage girls surely! Just heard Busy as the theme on BBC comedy Me and Mrs Jones, it's been the bed for the M&S for ages as well, ker-ching! HSAB is the background to everything, Thinking of me does alright too, maybe this song will follow suite. It's decent as an instrumental.
  2. The director comes up with the concept and Olly goes along with it as proven by his behind the scenes of DWMT and Busy. He likes people to know he can press a button but he's not a diva. I just want them to make the video look like they spent decent money on it as it's the lead single, or make it look like the British HSAB video where he looked cool, it looked expensive but it was probably cheap. While Olly fans are loving it, I don't know how impressed the casual viewer will be with this video. If they're gonna ruin HSAB and offend Rizzle Kicks by putting Chiddy Bang on it then he might as well pander to the American market properly but more than that I want it to look decent to everyone else as well. This song has big hit potential and I want him to do justice to the song. I mean the song itself is still true to Olly but is more international than his others which proves he can still be true to himself, I expected something similar with the video. I'm really hoping he moves up another level with this album cos it's a disgrace he gets shunned by the Brits panel and isn't considered a serious artist by many. By the sounds of things Army of two (bound to be a single) is his best song yet so I'm hopeful it'll happen for him this year.
  3. I must be the only one who doesn't like the video? The actors are crappy and it should have had more of a glossy American feel so he doesn't potentially have to do another one for the US, I think that would have suited the song better anyway. Plus the girl is not very good looking. Please don't let me go, Busy and Heart skips a beat were good but his other videos all have a budget feel IMO, he deserves better.
  4. GA will orobably perform on CIN as well which Olly won't do as I think X Factor insist on performance exclusives?
  5. Olly's song is more radio friendly and will get massive airplay, it has hit written all over it, I'd be shocked if it doesn't shift over 100kin it's first week like both his previous leading singles. I had that as number 1 til I heard the Girls Aloud song was for CIN now I don't know. The first two singles off his last album went number 1 and sold about 500k each, I don't know how popular GA are now as Cheryl solo is a different thing. Flo Rida is the top seling artist of the year so far so on form and song I guess I would actualky have to go for Olly & Flo Rida.
  6. Agreed, I do wonder if some people have only heard the chorus because the rest of the song is horrible including the leaders of the pack bit. DNA is so obviously better. Little Mix are just starting their careers but they've already established themselves as the current number 1 girl band. They're much cooler than everyone else even though they're from the X Factor.
  7. As if, the verses sound like a PJ & Duncan b side.
  8. You having a laugh? DNA destroys the cringeworthy Something new. I bet Cheryl etc would kill to have DNA instead.
  9. Yeah it wasn't exactly subtle was it, covered in a weird pattern the whole time apart from one split second close up. Either Sarah is insecure about the way she looks tgese days or the director wasn't impressed.
  10. Hardly any close ups of Sarah in the video, hmmm. The verses sound like PG and Duncan, but the chorus is alright. Yeah with a hit song, even Take that didn't get to number 1 with The Flood, 1D number 3 with their latest, the song matters.
  11. It'll be better than their 1st single off the album which was clearly only chosen to promote their young fun loving image, as a song it was too weak to even get 1D to number 1. Little Things will probably be the strongest song from the album...
  12. Shocking lyrics, cringeworthy song in places tbh, I expected something much better to relaunch. I can't see it beating Olly Murs to number 1 as it'll have to shift at least 100k. Top 3 though. Really surprised the song isn't better.
  13. Don't worry Alex, the Girls Aloud song is shocking and will only interest fans like yourself, Olly will probably be number 1. In any case he'll grab the number 1 album with no real competition out that week. No one could label him a flop, he's done very well and will continue to do so as his songs get better which is the polar opposite to the rest of the X Factor mob like Leona Lewis.
  14. She will need a hit before the US label release her album. Just look at Olly Murs as an example... they've went from releasing a mixture of his first two albums this month to releasing a mixture of his last one and his new one in December. HSAB hasn't done very well so it looks like they're gonna try and sell the album off the back of Troublemaker and give HSAB longer to break after recording a 3rd video for that. He sells well across Europe so good luck to Alex, she will have to jump through alot of hoops. It makes you wonder if America is worth the hassle but I guess she needs it. She's doing well to hold onto her UK label tbf, I don't think her once huge fanbase is there amymore.
  15. Her label probably want a big single to promote her album with? Without a hit you're sunk in the pop world.
  16. He's had number 1s across Europe, so he'd have a good shot at doing well but that also means that he doesn't need Eurovision. Let's be honest it's not worth winning it anyway, it's a load of rubbish no one cares about anymore, so maybe McElderry should do it! Lol. I think this song is more geared towards breaking Murs in America, Heart skips a beat hasn't really done what it should have so this could be the one, especially with Flo Rida on it.
  17. The only competition for number 1 looks like being the Labrinth and Emeli Sande collaboration but thats his 6th single off the album so maybe not, or Pitbull despite his being a crap song as that never usually stops him. I would bet on Troublemaker being Olly's 4th number 1.
  18. They're the biggest success story for the X Factor worldwide, no question about that, but when it comes to the UK the guy they had supportng them in America (Olly Murs) is more popular. They own the teen market and nothng else. Btw this song is a poor first single for such a massive band, not as good as most of the songs off their debut, I would expect their first single to go to number 1 by default, just shows how poor it is.
  19. I really liked him on the x factor and his first album was good apart from the awful Run for your life. Starlight and Stars and lovers were good, but I just find it hard hard to care about him now. I blame Gary Barlow tbh!

Total waste of time to release a cover so similar to the original, it just makes people think they haven't got any other decent songs, ridiculous move.
  21. His new stuff sounds like he wants to be the new Gareth Gates, such a contrast to his old direction, now he's sounding dated instead of trying to be cool. He always just goes for what he thinks people want to hear. If the sales are good enough for another album he needs to get in with some better songwriters cos that's what it all boils down to at the end of the day, how good are the songs? Even one hit would do him so much good. I'm glad torresgirl is finally waking up regarding sales, they matter to his long term future and you cant cover that up with chart positions. And anyway... no.74 in the album chart is Olly Murs with an album that has been out for 45 weeks, Joe is no.75 after just 4!
  22. I love this song, it's his best yet, it's gonna take him to a new level. Maroon 5 vs Jamiroquai. Claude Kelly, Steve Robson and Murs are a hit factory. You're kidding right? Add Ollys fan base to Flo Rida who is the biggest selling singles artist of the year. The song will slay the radio, it's so catchy and it's a real grower. Plus his X Factor appearance. But mainly its just so damn radio friendly with massive appeal.
  23. This is a sure fire hit (probable number 1) and it won't be that much of a departure from Heart skips a beat. Given that that was his biggest hit this seems like a smart move. He's done the old school reggae and retro stuff so this should add variety and help his 'cool factor' a bit. They should probably have stumped up the cash to get someone lke Flo Rida on HSAB instead of Chiddy Bang who detracted from it if anything.
  24. Higher hopes for the album or it's game over in America.
  25. He's going back over in September to promote the album, we'll have to wait and see how it does. I never expected him to ever try and break into the American market so any success he has is a bonus. I don't know how it works, only that it's alot different. He's working with Claude etc again as well some new ones like Ed Drewett, it's bound to be more of the same but a bit more dancey, I can't see a drastic Americanized change, it'll be the sound of Olly's influences as usual.
